Meet Rye Bagel! Rye Bagel was rescued from San Diego after his owner passed away and the family could not keep him sadly, so he was surrendered. He apparently lived primarily in an outdoor kennel with about 13 dogs. Luckily, the generous Foundation for Care of Indigent Animals in Spring Valley looked after him, got him updated on his vaccinations, neutered, a dental cleaning, and examination with the veterinarian. He had a growth removed from his leg, but the vet was not concerned about the growth. Then, he was transported to Orange County on January 17, 2026 and became a Bean’s Beagle. We were initially told he was 16 years old, but the vet said he actually appears to be closer to 10-12 years old. So far, he has been enjoying walks in the neighborhood at his leisurely pace, he is friendly with people and other dogs on walks, enjoys looking out the window from his favorite spot, takes his naps, and is a “delight” to have in the home. He has been kind and gentle with the kids in the foster home, and enjoys cuddling. Bagel patiently watches his foster prepare meals, but has not tried to take the food, good manners! Bagel does not appear crate-trained yet, though he prefers to sleep on a blanket or bed just on the floor outside of the crate or with the crate door open. This may be due to him spending much of his life in a kennel previously. He appears to know to go potty on walks or outside, with no accidents typically and does well overnight with house-training, which is great! Bagel is looking for his forever home in the Southern California area. He may do best in a home where he is the only dog, or someone willing to slowly introduce him to other dogs. He has done well in his foster home with neighborhood dogs, at adoption events, and in the home, but these interactions should be monitored to ensure they’re a good match.

Meet Mable! Mable’s freedom ride!! She is a 2 year old spayed female who will be looking for a forever and ever home soon in SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA only. No out of state applicants. Let’s let her decompress, relax and please let us get to know her a little more. All we know right now is she needs a home with no babies, toddlers or young children. She has a history of resource guarding and needs behavioral evaluation, training, and a committed adopter. Mable was trained for scent detection and knows a little obedience, but will need a human to give her structure, boundaries and training or she might think she is pack leader and take over. Story

Dash is a 6-year-old neutered male beagle who will need someone who will not only be committed to him for life, but committed to following his trainer's suggestions and strong advice. His trainers are Zack and Gabi from Falco Dog Training in Yorba Linda. Dash needs to have someone who gives him consistent structure, guidance, and strong boundaries. He comes with a history of resource guarding and bite history unfortunately, therefore any potential adopter must be fully committed to following the trainers’ guidelines exactly, and be mindful to not to give too much freedom or affection to Dash too soon, as he may try to take over and needs time to transition into a new home and routine. Any potential adopter must also commit to either individual or group sessions with our trainer from day one and to follow the trainers’ guidelines in order to be successful. Dash was surrendered by his previous owner a few months ago due to change in lifestyle. He had limited socialization with other dogs, though he is friendly with most people and dogs it seems. He is all up to date on vaccinations, had a dental cleaning and treatment of allergies upon intake to the rescue, and he is otherwise healthy. He weighed 26 pounds upon intake. He is house-trained and crate-trained, but may need reinforcement of this training in a new home and routine. In his foster placement, Dash enjoyed his walks, playing with toys, and was a sweet friendly boy. He enjoyed being taken outside often, and seems to enjoy potty breaks every 3-4 hours. Generally, Dash is a sweet, easy-going, friendly, curious, and happy boy who is excited to go for walks, and may need to work on leash manners. He has previously lived with children, but it is recommended that he go to an adult-only home with no other dogs or cats. He know some basic commands such as sit, stay, leave it, and come, and has been evaluated by our trainer. He is very food motivated like most beagles. Dash is a very happy-go-lucky loving boy who will give you his heart in return for a forever home, and we want his next adventure to be a successful one. If you have the time, patience, and you are seriously willing to follow the trainers’ rules and guidelines for resource guarding and training needs, please consider submitting an application for Dash, you won't be sorry once he knows you are his leader. Note: Potential Adopters must be: 1. Located in Southern California to be near our trainer. 2. Willing to invest and commit to training sessions with Falco Dog Training from the start with Dash. 3. No children, other dogs, or cats in the home. 4. Understand resource guarding and willing to work on this with Dash in the long term.
