Story

Poppy is a super sweet 4 year old dog. She loves to play fetch and chase birds. She is house and crate trained. She knows commands like sit, lay down, go to bed, and leave it. She takes a while to warm up because she is an anxious dog, but once she warms up she loves to cuddle. She is startles at loud noise and sudden movements. We have a small toddler and his rambunctiousness is the reason we are rehoming her. We don’t think it’s fair for us to stress her out with all of the loud noises and thrown toys that come with a toddler and we can’t devote the same time we were able to previously and think she will thrive in a calmer environment.

After rescuing her, I managed to locate her owner, who had adopted her from the San Diego Humane Society as an 8-week-old puppy. Sadly, the owner, a senior citizen residing in a care facility, admitted she was unable to handle Sierra's boundless energy and felt misled about her breed. When she reached out for help, I couldn't refuse. Now named Sierra, this 5-month-old pup is a whirlwind of happiness and enthusiasm. She adores people and dogs of all sizes and coexists peacefully with our foster cats. Sierra would blossom as a family dog, particularly with older, considerate children. She enjoys walks and car rides and would thrive with consistent puppy training.
