Hi, my name is Amber Marie Coldnose. A bit silly of a name, I know, but you can call me Amber. I'm a very sweet but nervous girl. I came from a tough situation, I lived in a small outdoor pen with almost 30 other dogs for basically my whole life until I came to VOCAL in November. I had very limited social interaction with people while living there, so I am very nervous and flighty with strangers and new sounds and experiences. Despite that, I am very sweet, cuddly and playful once I am comfortable with my person! I love squeaky toys and chew bones! I do well around other dogs after I get used to them, in fact I would probably do best in a home with another friendly dog to help me adapt to the home life. I also do pretty well with cats, I may try to chase them to play but I listen well when told to back off. I've been in a foster home and they say I'm about 90% potty trained too. I'm also basically the perfect size at only 22 lbs. I could be your perfect little companion if you have patience and a heart for pups that need a little extra TLC.

We rescued this sweetheart on July 26th from City of Blakely Animal Control. He is a senior beagle who was found in terrible condition. In the last couple of months he has been neutered, had a dental and gone through fast kill heartworm treatment. We let him settle in and he is doing great! Ben was aged at the vet as 7 years old, but we think he might be closer to 7 to 9. He is neutered, micro-chipped, has been treated for heartworms, and is up to date with vaccines and preventatives. He is potty trained, crate trained, dog, kid and cat friendly. He is learning how to walk on a leash and rides well in the car. He is very lazy and loves to eat and sleep He would be great for an older adopter who is looking for a laid back chill dog. He is currently in a loving foster home with a family who has three dogs and three kids. I acquired him from PetSmart when he was about 6 months old, and he is now an 11½-year-old Beagle mix. He is a sweet, loving dog with lots of energy who enjoys being around people most of the time. Unfortunately, over the past year he has developed some resource-guarding behaviors around food, treats, and being crated. He has snapped a couple of times, including one incident where he caught my hand while I was trying to crate him after going for my son's food. I don't believe he intended to injure me, but these behaviors need to be taken seriously. He also has recurring skin issues that require ongoing care that I can no longer financially afford to keep up with. I'm looking for an experienced, patient home with the time and resources to work with him and manage his medical needs. This is a difficult decision, but I want him to have the best chance at a safe, happy life.
