Story
I am one of 1,500 dogs rescued from a testing laboratory, and now I'm safe at Big Dog Ranch Rescue. For my entire life, I lived in a kennel and never had the chance to experience what it means to simply be a dog. Everything is new to me—feeling grass beneath my paws, exploring the outdoors, walking on a leash, and discovering that human hands can offer love instead of fear. I’m still learning to trust and understand this unfamiliar world. I may be shy and cautious at first, but with patience, kindness, and a gentle heart, I know I will continue to grow. What I need most is someone willing to give me the time to blossom. In return, you'll have the incredible privilege of watching me discover love, safety, and the joy of finally being part of a family.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Angus and Rosie are siblings who are looking for a home together.  Angus is 7 years old and Rosie is 6 years old. Meet Angus & Rosie ❤️   Angus and Rosie are a sweet brother-and-sister bonded pair who have spent their entire lives together, and you’ll rarely find one without the other close by. After being owner surrendered, these two are looking for a family who will give them the happy ending they deserve — together.   They truly are the perfect yin and yang. Rosie is the resident couch potato who believes there is always time for a belly rub. She’s the more vocal of the pair and isn’t afraid to let you know what’s on her mind. Angus is a little more reserved, but what he lacks in words, he makes up for in cuddles. He loves being next to his person — although if you ask Angus, on top of you is even better. ❤️   Both are incredibly sweet and well behaved. They are almost completely potty trained, eat peacefully side by side with no need to separate them at mealtime, and do wonderfully left loose in the home when their humans are away — no crates necessary. They’re also great with other dogs and have been very respectful of nearby bunnies. ❤️   But be prepared for your homecoming! Whether you’ve been gone five minutes or five hours, Angus and Rosie will greet you with enough excitement to convince you that you abandoned them for several years.   Angus does have a history of occasional seizures, but he has not had a known seizure in at least six months and does not currently require seizure medication due to their sporadic occurrence.   Most of all, Angus and Rosie simply love being together and being with their people. They’ve already spent their whole lives side by side, and we would love nothing more than to see them live out the rest of their days that way.   If you’re looking for double the love, double the cuddles, and a perfectly matched pair of best friends, Angus and Rosie may just be your two. ❤️Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 26, 2026, 4:33 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Nadia is a princess. We think her purpose in life is to be adored, cuddled and petted. She does however fully engage in some incredible zoomies and does not mind a few beagle minions (undoubtedly slower) chasing behind. In vain will they try to catch her, but she knows how to do a quick pancake to quell the fray if they do. That being said, Nadia would either like to have a fenced yard or be taken to a spacious dog park once or twice a week. She does great with other dogs and initiates play but she would be fine as an only dog... as long as she had some mental stimulation like play and plenty of walks. In her foster home she is doing well with house training as long as she is encouraged to go outside regularly. She knows how to use the dog door but still needs a bit of management or she will go on the bathroom floor. She eats and sleeps in a crate in the bedroom at night and does quite well with that. However, she's an odd little beagle as far as her eating habits. She is extremely picky about treats and seldom eats them. She prefers a little chicken or just the right kind of wet food mixed with her kibble. She is not crazy about food like most beagles are and if she doesn't want it she will try to hide it in her bedding. Nadia is not extremely vocal and we have seldom heard her bark. Currently she is not left alone so we're not quite sure how she would do with that. We understand from her past that she is okay with cats and she would most likely be good with children although we can't speak to that from experience. Nadia is very friendly with people and very gentle. She is submissive and compliant. She is heartworm positive and will be treated at the end of August. She will be ready for sleepover the second week of September but the activity restriction will need to be observed and no Zoomies for at least 4 weeks.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 26, 2026, 8:20 pm

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Iris loves life! She is soooo curious and inquisitive. She adores being outside sniffing and running around, and inside she is just as much of an explorer, jumping on her little hind legs to see whatever is on the counter! Iris is not hugely food motivated oddly enough, she's just an investigator. And she loves toys -- squishy toys, ones that make noise, ones with crinkles in them. She likes to chew but has not destroyed or ripped any up. She is special in the way she loves to be near her humans. She is very lovey! Iris is also very friendly with new people and is thrilled when guests come over. Now if she is taken to a new environment, it takes her a little time because, well she's just got to investigate before she's totally comfortable! She can be super energetic at times but also LOVES to snooze for extended periods of time. At night she sleeps in a dog bed in the bedroom, but with the bedroom door closed so she doesn't roam. Her foster family works full time so Iris is currently crated during the day, sometimes for up to  8-9 hours. She's not particularly happy with the situation so we have promised her that we will look for a family who is home much more of the time. She has done well with the other two dogs in her foster home but can occasionally get a bit bossy when she is in an elevated place like the couch. This behavior simply causes her to have to relinquish the 'prime real estate' and then once again she is her happy self. She mostly wants to play, but she is young and may need clear boundaries from her humans. Iris is admittedly not great on leash so we recommend a fenced yard... or patient people who will train. She is heartworm positive and will be treated the second week of September.  She should be ready to go on sleepover by mid-September as long as post heartworm treatment protocols can be observed.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.August 26, 2026, 8:20 pm

Story
Belle is an adorable 7 year old Bassett and beagle mix. She has a heart full of love. She is very affectionate. If you’re petting her and you stop she will let you know that you must continue. She’s very happy to sit on the couch with you watching TV, lounging in her bed and she is always ready to go for a walk thru the neighborhood. She is very friendly with everyone she has met. She’ll drop on the ground and roll over so you can giver her a belly rub. Belle would love someone to be home most of the time with her. She sleeps on the couch or in her bed at night. I’m sure she would love to sleep with you if you’re up for it. She is housebroken, she will go to the door to let you know she has to go out. She likes car rides and just loves to be with her person. She is always happy, has the best personality. Belle will be the perfect companion. Apply today!
