Story
This is Laura, she’s a 3 year old Beagle, she’s the sweetest, friendliest, and curious little thing ever. She is frightened and hides from strangers but a couple seconds or sniffing and she’s demanding licks! Unfortunately, we were told shortly after rescuing her that we need a certificate to have a dog her size in our neighborhood due to HOA regulations. Therefore, we refused to give her back to a shelter but instead to find her a new home instead. Documentation of all her medical history, shots, and heartworm tests are in our hands and we’re asking for a $0 adoption fee, but a loving family that can take care of her and she’s got another 10-12 years to go. Feel free to reach out with any questions that need answering.P.s. She's a big foodie! :)

Story
I am one of 1,500 dogs rescued from a testing laboratory, and now I'm safe at Big Dog Ranch Rescue. For my entire life, I lived in a kennel and never had the chance to experience what it means to simply be a dog. Everything is new to me—feeling grass beneath my paws, exploring the outdoors, walking on a leash, and discovering that human hands can offer love instead of fear. I’m still learning to trust and understand this unfamiliar world. I may be shy and cautious at first, but with patience, kindness, and a gentle heart, I know I will continue to grow. What I need most is someone willing to give me the time to blossom. In return, you'll have the incredible privilege of watching me discover love, safety, and the joy of finally being part of a family.

Story
Friendliness Rating: 1 This 1-year-old male beagle is a shy and sensitive young dog who is still learning to feel safe and comfortable in unfamiliar environments. He tends to freeze, retreat, avoid eye contact, or keep his distance when approached, showing signs of fear and uncertainty around new people and situations. While he is timid, he is able to remain functional and will accept food rewards with mild hesitation, which is a positive sign that trust and confidence can continue to grow through patience and gentle positive reinforcement. He will benefit from a calm environment with slow introductions and consistent reassurance as he adjusts. At this time, he shows very little interest in toys and may appear too unsure or overwhelmed to engage in play activities. Around other dogs, he demonstrates positive and appropriate social behavior and appears comfortable interacting with canine companions. Overall, he is a gentle and quiet beagle who would likely thrive in a patient and understanding home that allows him to build confidence at his own pace while continuing to feel safe and supported.
