My husband passed away last month, and I cannot care for multiple animals. Jack is current on his shots and city license and is heart worm negative.Jack is an extremely sweet dog and needs someone who can love him and care for him. Jack is great with other dogs and children. Jack loves to run and roll in the grass. He loves to give licks and get his belly rubbed. He also likes to snuggle. Won't you be his forever family?

This sweet girl is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly! She loves going for walks, playing outside, and would absolutely thrive with another playful dog in the home. She gets along wonderfully with the larger dogs in her foster home and has a perfect medium energy level — happy to join you for adventures, then curl up beside you on the couch or in bed for snuggles. She is crate trained, nearly fully potty trained, and sleeps through the night like a champ. She’s still learning that the world isn’t so scary, so she can be vocal or unsure around strangers and other animals on walks, but she continues to improve with socialization.  She’s incredibly loving with her foster family and kids in the home, did great at the vet, and is quickly showing everyone what an amazing companion she’ll be! Hi, I'm Charlie — I've come out of my shell since arriving at DARE. I've got a great appetite, and I wake up every morning happy and bouncy, ready to run with the pack, chase squirrels, water the field, and investigate every tortoise hole I can find. Not bad for a 13-year-old, if I do say so myself. My Ideal Home Good with kids, cats, small dogs, and everyone in the house — but I do best as an only dog or with small dog/cat companions only, since I'm not great with big dogs. I love sleeping in bed with my people (or in my crate, if that's the house rule), and I'm house-trained, crate-trained, and up for leashed walks with plenty of sniffing. A Few Important Things to Know - Not a fan of big dogs: I do best as the only dog, or alongside small dogs and cats. Big dogs aren't my thing. - Thunderstorm anxiety: Storms make me nervous — a calm, comforting space during bad weather goes a long way with me. What I Bring to the Table I've got morning energy, a zest for squirrel-chasing, and a curiosity about the world that most pups half my age would envy. "Needs Adoption" We are in Yulee, Fl, Butterscotch, aka Butters, is a 3 and a half-year-old beagle mix. We rescued her from animal services 2 years ago, and she has enjoyed living with a fenced yard and running around with one of our two other dogs. She is completely up to date on all vaccines and preventative meds. She has a microchip and has been spayed. She walks fairly well on a leash with a harness, is fully house-trained and crate-trained, and knows some basic commands like sit and bed. She sometimes has a mild skin allergy to something that grows outside in the yard that requires medicated bathing, but it doesn’t happen more than once or twice a year. She gets along with most dogs and all women. She was most likely abused by a man before we got her, so she is very scared and reactive around strangers. She recently had an incident involving a small child and can no longer be around small children at all. Thus, we need to find her a more suitable home without kids.

Banjo boy! This guy is an absolute hoot. This guy has only been with us for under a year but we really expected him to find placement easily because of his size and breed! Banjo is a typical hound dog. He’s extremely talkative, he loves to spend time outside, and he loves to dig holes and lay in them. He absolutely HATES being crated. A home where he wouldn’t need to be would be ideal. For being 5-6 years old, he has a ton of energy still! He does well with dogs that are his size. It took him a few days to get used to Puppy but he was never aggressive. He had a big talk but no bite. We cat tested him when he came in and he seems to do fine with them. He seemed kinda scared of them and just walked the other way. Banjo would be an amazing companion for anyone in my opinion. Maybe not with younger kids but aside from that he’s really great! He loves to spend time on the couch with you and when he’s outside he loves to play chase! A home with a fenced yard is required and no apartment homes because he is LOUD. If you don’t like loud dogs, run the other way. If you think banjo would be a good fit for your home, please shoot us a dm so we can get you our dog application! Located in lake city FL.

We found and rescued Simba when he was only four weeks old. He was very underweight and had been abandoned, so we nursed him back to health and have been trying to find him a good home.
