This handsome older gentleman has all the classic Beagle traits—curious, nose-to-the-ground, and happily vocal when he has something to say! He loves exploring the world around him and will keep you entertained with his signature Beagle bay. He is still working on his leash manners and can be a bit of a puller, so he’ll need a patient adopter willing to help guide him. Due to suspected tracheal sensitivity, he should use a gentle leader or harness instead of a traditional collar to keep him safe and comfortable on walks. He would do best in a calm, understanding home that will give him the time and support he needs while he enjoys his golden years.

We have had Chip about a year and a half. We adopted him from a rehome listing on this site. I instantly fell in love with the picture of his face. His previous owner gave health issues as her reason for needing to let him go. My husband and I are both in our 70s..and now find ourselves with various health conditions that have made keeping up with Chip too difficult for us. He just turned 2 this week. Unfortunately he is outgrowing our fenced in backyard and needs to be somewhere that he has space to run outside for more exercise. He is playful and likes to chase his toys. He loves to chew on his chew toys and soft things, like pillows. He can be mischievous and grab your shoes or slippers when your not looking. He goes willingly into his crate when you need to go out and that is where he sleeps.
