We didn’t originally plan on bringing him into our home, but when we heard about his situation, we couldn’t turn away. He came to us through a friend of a friend who had no other place for him to go, and we stepped in to make sure he was safe and cared for. Since then, he’s shown us just how loving, loyal, and resilient he is. He’s been a great dog and has made a positive impact on our home in the time he’s been with us. However, after giving it our best effort, we’ve come to the difficult decision that we’re unable to keep him long-term. We have children with autism, and their needs require a level of structure and attention that makes it challenging for us to provide him with the time and environment he truly deserves. This decision hasn’t been easy, because he is a wonderful dog. We want to make sure he finds a home where he can get the attention, consistency, and love he needs to fully thrive. We’re hopeful that the right family is out there—someone who can give him the stable,

Sophie, a 9-year-old beagle mix, is the ultimate social butterfly—she adores dogs, cats, people, and even carrots! She’s happiest on a stroll but also enjoys neighborhood watch duty from her favorite cozy spot. Though she was recently diagnosed with diabetes, she’s doing well with insulin management.Her BFF, Scout, is a 10-year-old shih tzu mix who started life in a puppy mill, making her a bit shy around humans. But when it comes to dogs—especially Sophie—Scout is all in. Scout enjoys walks alongside Sophie, though she prefers to avoid grass.Sophie is potty-trained, while Scout prefers using a potty pad due to lingering effects from her early life.
