Story
Sophie, a 9-year-old beagle mix, is the ultimate social butterfly—she adores dogs, cats, people, and even carrots! She’s happiest on a stroll but also enjoys neighborhood watch duty from her favorite cozy spot. Though she was recently diagnosed with diabetes, she’s doing well with insulin management. Her BFF, Scout, is a 10-year-old shih tzu mix who started life in a puppy mill, making her a bit shy around humans. But when it comes to dogs—especially Sophie—Scout is all in. Scout enjoys walks alongside Sophie, though she prefers to avoid grass.Sophie is potty-trained, while Scout prefers using a potty pad due to lingering effects from her early life. Both are up to date on vaccines and looking for a home filled with love. Can you give this loveable, bonded pair a safe space? If you are interested in fostering, adopting, or fostering to adopt these besties, we`d love to hear from you!

Story
Sydney is a Mama dog that is about 1 year old. Her previous owner told the shelter he left her and her 2 day old puppies at, that she is a Beagle/great Pyranese mix. She was not treated well at her previous home and is very human shy. We are working hard, along with her great foster home, to show her what love and care are. Her pups are tri colored and will be available in February. If you have any questions on Mama or pups or would like to make a donation to their care, please contact us.

Story
Meet Ouiser Boudreaux! (Pronounced Weezer, just like the band.)Named after the spicy, sharp-witted character from Steel Magnolias, Ouiser Boudreaux lives up to her name. This 7 month old Beagle puppy is equal parts sass, curiosity, comedy, and affection wrapped up in one adorable package.Ouiser is everything you would expect from a young Beagle. She is social, happy, confident, tenacious, and always looking for her next adventure. Her nose is constantly working, her attention span is delightfully short, and if theres something interesting nearby, she will probably investigate it. Like most puppies, shes still working on her house training skills and will need a family committed to continuing her training and setting her up for success. She loves other dogs, appears to be well-adjusted and friendly, and while cats are unknown, we dont anticipate any major concerns. Ouiser does experience some typical puppy separation anxiety and may be vocal when left alone, but shes not destructive. Give her a few toys, some mental stimulation, and something appropriate to keep her busy, and she settles in nicely.Because she is a vocal Beagle and an active young puppy, Ouiser will require a securely fenced yard and will not be considered for apartment, condo, or shared-wall living situations.Puppy training classes are strongly recommended. Not only will they help her learn good manners, but theyll also help build the lifelong bond every great dog-and-human team deserves.Important: Ouiser is scheduled to be spayed on June 30 and will not be available to go home until she has fully recovered from surgery. If youre looking for a funny, loving, spirited puppy who will keep you laughing, keep you moving, and love you with her whole heart, Ouiser Boudreaux may be your girl.Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Story
Meet BooneVibe Check:Retired from Ridglan Farms, wanting to forget what he has endured. Ready for the good life.Fun Fact:Boone is a sock thief. He steals them and carries them around like they are his prizes.Rescue: Albert's Dog LoungeAge: AdultSize: MediumFostered in: Green Bay, WisconsinOrigin Story:Like all the beagles released from Ridglan Farm, Boone has not had a life full of family, love, and socialization. He will need patience and understanding to make up for lost time.Health Notes:Boone is neutered and is fully up to date on his vetting. He i has a grade 3 heart murmur, but it does not bother him in the least, other than the occasional cough. He is currently eating a raw diet, and it is recommended that an adopter continue with this to ensure that his tummy remains stable. Many of the beagles that came out of RF had significant digestive issues for a while, and the raw diet seems to have stabilized that. The Ridglan beagles have been found to be prone to vaccine reactions. He will need to receive Benadryl 24 hours before and 24 hours after vaccines to prevent this going forward.Personality:Boone is a brave boy. He has overcome a lot of trauma in his five weeks of freedom. He is working hard to learn to walk on a leash, and enjoys outdoor time with his doggy friends. He is remarkably adaptable, and would thrive in a home where he is included in daily life, He is getting better at accepting human companionship and wanting to snuggle in with people for movies and cuddles. He is shy, but will warm up to adults and respectful, older children. Fast movements still startle him, so his new family will need to be cognizant of that. He gets along well with other friendly dogs, and loves to play with them. He was introduced to a kitty and did fine, but he has never lived with one.Outdoors, he is still jumpy with loud noises, but otherwise does wonderfully. He greets people with a slow approach and a shyly wagging tail.Family Matters:Boone would love a confident dog sibling. His foster sister Poppy is his companion in patrolling the fenced yard. He enjoys companionship and play, and forms strong bonds. He will let the small dogs take his food and his bed, so you will need to guard those things for him.Boone is a sweet, shy, calm boy who just wants a family to love him and give him his forever.Things Boone LovesSnacks (he loves, cheese, venison, and eggs are faves)Slowly offered affectionSniffy yard patrolsMeeting kind, gentle people who respect his spaceSpring weatherLife outside a cageSignature Move:Patrolling the yard with his sister Poppy, making sure no chipmunks or squirrels invade the perimeterBucket List:Learning how to be a petHis own fluffy bedA dish that will always have enough healthy food to fill his bellyLots of walksSpace to sniff with that beagle noseA patient, loving family with soft hands and lots of love to offerA Few House Rules:Because these dogs have been through so much, it is our job as those entrusted with their care to be very thoughtful in their placement. Meet Benito Sabueso, AKA BeniVibe Check:Retired from Ridglan Farms, wanting to forget what he has endured. Ready for the good life.Fun Fact:Benito spins when he is happy or excited. You know he is happy when he spins and wags his tail simultaneously!Rescue: Albert's Dog LoungeAge: AdultSize: MediumFostered in: Green Bay, WisconsinOrigin StoryLike all the beagles released from Ridglan Farm, Benito has not had a life full of family, love, and socialization. He will need patience and understanding to make up for lost time.Health NotesHe is neutered and is up to date on vetting with the exception of a couple vaccines that will be coming soon. He will need to receive Benadryl 24 hours before and 24 hours after vaccines to prevent this going forward.PersonalityBeni is a brave boy. He has overcome a lot of trauma in his five weeks of freedom. He is learning about leash walking but it is a work in progress. So far, he has shown that he loves chewing on the leash while he's attached to it. More leash familiarity and training is in progress, but he is currently not leash trained.Benito is active and is searching for a family that is ready for his type of energy. He loves kids and does well with the 9 and 11 year olds who come to visit. Benito is high energy and always looking for something to learn more about and play with.As he learns about the world around him, Beni finds mischief. He will chew on things like remotes, anything on reachable tabletops, and his pup siblings' collars while they're wearing them, pillows, blanket throws, and so on. However, redirecting his attention away keeps him from always going after things, except the remote. There seems to be no stopping him with the remote.Benito loves to observe his humans, then do what they have done. Example: electronic trash can. Once he learns something, he plays with it for a day or three, then moves on to the next item. Be prepared to babyproof the house. He can open drawers, some cabinet doors, and is pretty proud of it.He likes to be around you, and will scratch on any closed door if he wants access inside. He has crawled around and under furniture to chew on cords, and has chewed a couple of phone cords at this point. He will unplug bigger cords. He also enjoys moving chairs around the house. He is friendly with people, loves children, and learns well from his dog siblings. Cats are an unknown as he has never been around them to our knowledge.Benito has come a long way, but sometimes still freezes at a doorway or threshhold. His foster will gently help him across if that happens. He will also shy away from hands, so if you go in to pet him, move slowly so he knows you are gentle and mean no harm.Beni has never pooped in the house. Gentlemen go outside for such things. - He wears a belly band with a pad in it so as not to pee in the house. The belly band is almost always dry, but since Beni is not fully potty trained, the belly band acts as an insurance policy. Note: Beni wakes up dry most days, but the excited walk to the door or cool air once the band is off could initiate a tinkle so his belly band is taken off right at the door.Family MattersBenito would love a confident dog sibling. He enjoys companionship and play, and and learns well from his doggy foster siblings. He will stare deeply at you if he wants cuddle time, because he does not know how else to ask. Watch for that cue to help build your bond with him.Benito is a sweet boy who just wants a family to love him and give him his forever.Things Benito LovesLicky matsCuddlesThe ROKU AquariumStuffiesMeeting kind, gentle people and collecting complimentsToysThe feel of the sun on his faceFreedomSignature MoveUnplugging your lampBucket ListLearning how to be a petHis own fluffy bedA dish that will always have enough healthy food to fill his bellyLots of walksSpace to sniff with that beagle noseA patient, loving family with soft hands and lots of love to offerA Few House RulesBecause these dogs have been through so much, it is our job as those entrusted with their care to be very thoughtful in their placement.
