Story
Sophie, a 9-year-old beagle mix, is the ultimate social butterfly—she adores dogs, cats, people, and even carrots! She’s happiest on a stroll but also enjoys neighborhood watch duty from her favorite cozy spot. Though she was recently diagnosed with diabetes, she’s doing well with insulin management. Her BFF, Scout, is a 10-year-old shih tzu mix who started life in a puppy mill, making her a bit shy around humans. But when it comes to dogs—especially Sophie—Scout is all in. Scout enjoys walks alongside Sophie, though she prefers to avoid grass.Sophie is potty-trained, while Scout prefers using a potty pad due to lingering effects from her early life. Both are up to date on vaccines and looking for a home filled with love. Can you give this loveable, bonded pair a safe space? If you are interested in fostering, adopting, or fostering to adopt these besties, we`d love to hear from you!

Story
Sydney is a Mama dog that is about 1 year old. Her previous owner told the shelter he left her and her 2 day old puppies at, that she is a Beagle/great Pyranese mix. She was not treated well at her previous home and is very human shy. We are working hard, along with her great foster home, to show her what love and care are. Her pups are tri colored and will be available in February. If you have any questions on Mama or pups or would like to make a donation to their care, please contact us.

Story
Meet Ouiser Boudreaux! (Pronounced Weezer, just like the band.)Named after the spicy, sharp-witted character from Steel Magnolias, Ouiser Boudreaux lives up to her name. This 7 month old Beagle puppy is equal parts sass, curiosity, comedy, and affection wrapped up in one adorable package.Ouiser is everything you would expect from a young Beagle. She is social, happy, confident, tenacious, and always looking for her next adventure. Her nose is constantly working, her attention span is delightfully short, and if theres something interesting nearby, she will probably investigate it. Like most puppies, shes still working on her house training skills and will need a family committed to continuing her training and setting her up for success. She loves other dogs, appears to be well-adjusted and friendly, and while cats are unknown, we dont anticipate any major concerns. Ouiser does experience some typical puppy separation anxiety and may be vocal when left alone, but shes not destructive. Give her a few toys, some mental stimulation, and something appropriate to keep her busy, and she settles in nicely.Because she is a vocal Beagle and an active young puppy, Ouiser will require a securely fenced yard and will not be considered for apartment, condo, or shared-wall living situations.Puppy training classes are strongly recommended. Not only will they help her learn good manners, but theyll also help build the lifelong bond every great dog-and-human team deserves.Important: Ouiser is scheduled to be spayed on June 30 and will not be available to go home until she has fully recovered from surgery. If youre looking for a funny, loving, spirited puppy who will keep you laughing, keep you moving, and love you with her whole heart, Ouiser Boudreaux may be your girl.Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs. Our process includes an approved application, reference checks, a homevisit, and then a meet and greet with the dog. Story
Meet *Kizzie*, a 13-month-old beagle with the sweetest soul and a heart that's just waiting for someone patient enough to help it shine. It's clear that Kizzie didn't have the easiest start in life. New people, new places, and changes can be overwhelming for her, so don't expect her to come bouncing into your arms on day one. In fact, for the first couple of weeks, if you turn and look at her too quickly, she'll likely dart behind the couch or find the nearest hiding spot. She wants to trust. She wants to love. She just needs a little extra time to believe she's finally safe. Once that trust begins to grow, everything changes. Kizzie becomes your little shadow, following you from room to room, quietly soaking up every bit of love and reassurance she can. She's incredibly affectionate and would much rather curl up beside you than spend her day playing. If you're looking for a snuggle buddy, she's your girl. Kizzie will need another confident, friendly dog in her home to help show her the ropes. She takes comfort in watching another dog and gains confidence by following their lead. A securely fenced yard is also a must, as she is still afraid of a leash. She may someday be more comfortable being on a leash, but that will take time, patience, and love to get her there. But for now, leashed walks in public are not a realistic option. She does experience some separation anxiety once she bonds with her people. She's quiet almost all of the time... until you leave. Then those classic beagle vocals make an appearance to let you know she'd much rather you stayed home. Thankfully, a frozen peanut butter Kong, a few good chews, and a consistent routine help her settle in, and before long she'll patiently lie down to wait for your return. Her perfect home would be with someone who is retired, works part time, or works from home. Somewhere less busy would be great, as she is currently living in a rural setting, and loud or unexpected noises scare her still. She is likely not going to thrive in a busy city setting. Kizzie is doing exceptionally well with house training and is about 90% housebroken. She's even learned to wake her people during the night if she needs to go outside, as long as they learn to recognize her cues. Like many things with Kizzie, confidence comes with familiarity. New environments can be intimidating, and she may hesitate to even walk into a house at first. Once she's comfortable, though, she'll happily follow her canine friend right inside. Kizzie gets along perfectly with other dogs, and would do well with older, respectful children. Young, high energy children would likely be scary for her. The perfect home would have someone who is home a lot. She really needs Kizzie isn't looking for perfection. She's looking for patience. She needs a family that understands healing doesn't happen overnight and that trust is earned one gentle moment at a time. In return, you'll gain one of the most loyal, loving companions you could ever ask for. She's already proven she's willing to learn. She's absolutely ready to love. Now she just needs someone willing to show her that everything really is going to be okay. Albert's Dog Lounge is a specialty rescue focusing primarily on senior and special needs dogs.
