Story
Blue and Skeeter are wonderful eager to please velcro dogs. They would love nothing more than to spend the day curled up next to you or out exploring and being active. They have a lot of energy but are just as happy being couch potatoes. They are 7 year old Beagle terrier mixes who were found dumped together as puppies. Blue has been known to be too smart for his brother's own good and is good at distracting him to get the toy or person he wants. Skeeter is just happy to be around his brother and a person who will give him the most attention possible. They are very eager to please and love to learn, if it makes their people happy. Skeeter sometimes needs a bit of extra time to figure out new things, but he'll watch his brother and figure it out. They both need a bit of help learning how to be a dog again and that people come back. They are great boys and if someone is willing to help them learn they'll pick it up quick. They haven't been socialized in 3 years but previously went to doggy daycare. They needed a close eye but we're progressing at the time. They'd need some time before becoming another dogs friend. They haven't met any cats or young children before. They have the instincts of a hunting dog, usually happily retrieving live animals. They've met pet rats previously and gotten a bit too excited for their own good. They've been better with smaller dogs than larger dogs but living with other types of small animals would probably not be the best. Blue needs some help overcoming some resource guarding behavior but is a wonderful dog once he can be reassured there will always be enough for him from now on. These boys are full of love and life and would love nothing more than to have a good pawrent or family to share it with.     If you are interested in Skeeter and Blue please fill out an adoption application at:  https://www.dogsaredeservingrescue.com/adopt November 28, 2025, 2:10 pm

Story
Meet Wilson! This around 2-year-old beagle mix with a suspiciously curly tail (what breed is that?!) comes with all the best features: house-broken, crate trained (with minimal treat-based bribery required), excellent leash manners, and a personality that's 50% snuggle bug, 50% class clown. He's mastered "sit," is working on his "stay" certification, and comes when called like the good boy he is. Wilson's Resume: • Social Skills: A+ with other dogs (playful but respectful), great with humans, TBD on cats and kids • Special Talents: Perfecting the art of taking up an entire couch, and unleashing the most hilarious beagle howl when he's outside • Quirks: Believes personal space is a myth. Will attempt to merge with you on the couch. Consider yourself warned. What Wilson Wants: He’ll adapt to whatever living situation comes with his favorite thing: YOU. Seriously, this boy just wants to be near his humans, whether that means shadowing you around the house or becoming a living blanket. If you're ready for a loyal, intelligent, cuddle monster, Wilson is the dog for you! The adoption fee for Wilson is $400. This donation helps to cover veterinary expenses including spay/neuter, microchip and vaccinations. Wish Upon a Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, foster based animal rescue. If you would like to meet Wilson please complete our adoption questionnaire at www.wishuponarescue.org/adopt. We will review your responses and be in contact to schedule a meet and greet at a time and place convenient for your family and our team member.

Story
Benny is a 4 year old beagle/ coonhound. He came from Hug-a-pup in Hammond, IN. He was adopted at around 4 months, and lived in an apartment until he turned 1. Benny normally roams a fenced in a yard for potty breaks. He tends to pull on a leash because he loves to follow his nose. He has a goofy, loving personality. Benny is kennel trained and is very treat driven. Benny is looking for a home that could offer him love....and lots of treats. He has a sister that is a 5 year old pitbull, so he is used to having company from another dog. We found that he is also good with cats and sturdier children. (he tends to jump with excitement to greet people) Benny has never had a biting incident and is a great alarm system. He will let you know someone is around with a howl. Benny would be a perfect fit for any active person or family willing to give him the love he deserves.
