Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Online Adoption Application!   Dan is one of Annie's 6 puppies born at KKC on June 3, 2023. Their mommy came in on Memorial Day 2023 as a very scared stray that could no longer run fast enough to get away from us. She delivered the following Saturday and has been growing in confidence every since as she knows that we show nothing but love and care for her and the babies. Little Dan and Annie have become super close and spend their days running and playing. She is a very petite beagle. Their dad is a pup born to a lab mix mom and a walker coonhound dad so we have no idea of how large Dan will get, but we are guessing he will stay a medium size dog. Dan looks identical to his grandpa the coon, but just smaller in size. He is super sweet and the calmest of the bunch. He has always been a momma's boy and stays close to her, which keeps him from mischief. Little Dan and Ann require inside access of some kind, but will likely spend lots of their time outside running and playing. They need a large safe yard or a fence, and would do well with a dog door. Annie stayed inside for the first four weeks after her babies were born, and she did very well with her potty habits. Dan has come inside often and never offered to potty on the floor, but he is young and still may have accidents. Annie and Dan both love, love, love children. If you are looking for a true rescue dog that shows no resentment for what she has experienced, Annie is the one. She still is a bit timid and unsure of being touched a lot, but she is improving daily. Are you the type of person that can earn her trust? If so, she will be your best friend forever. And Dan is just he icing on the cake.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet. If you are interested in meeting any of our babies, please contact us or complete an online application at https://kykittycats.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=6024 We are a super small, no kill rescue that is operating way above our capacity. Our numbers have increased exponentially since Covid. Unlike most shelters, we remained open and hit record intake numbers after the epidemic hit. We have taken in dozens of very sick felines that had no other option, and have even helped over 60 canines in 2021. 2022 was not any better.  We are trying to compute our end of the year numbers, but intake, vetting expenses, cost of food and litter for our 120 plus cats all just continues to get worse with the cost of living increasing like it has. Our rescue has also provided record number spay/neuters 2023 at well over 1200 surgeries on cats and dogs. Our accounts are drained, but we feel these surgeries are the only way we are going to be able to stay a float. We will never keep up with the rate that cats can breed in our area.  We operate solely on donations, and we are always looking for wonderful families to join our efforts. We have dozens of felines not posted and dozens more on our waiting list. No matter what type of setting you have, if you are looking to save a feline, we can find one for you to help.  Please visit and like our social media...  https://www.facebook.com/kykitties   https://instagram.com/kentuckykittycats?igshid=11qfoexi4imaf   and now we are on TIKTOK! Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Fill out an Online Adoption Application!   Annie and Little Dan are now altered and ready for their next step in life. It is just amazing to watch them play and see how happy Annie is. Dan will be your cuddler. They could be adopted as primarily outside, as long as they have access to a shop or something indoors to get out of the elements. They love to sleep inside cuddles on their bed. They both are pretty potty trained as they often sleep inside the cat cottage without accidents. Annie loves her boy so much and is very happy enjoying her days acting like a beagle should. No more days of cowarding and hiding from humans. She is learning to trust again. We have now doubt that she will soon be some humans best friend as she continues to learn to trust us and forgive us for the shit human she had before.  Splitting the pair is not an option. She has decided that she really wants to keep her last baby with her. She worked very hard raising her babies and learning to trust humans. It would be too heart wrenching to take her last baby away from her, and we feel that would set her back months on her progress. :-( ____________________________________________________________________________ Annie is not available yet. She hasn't began her vetting due to nursing her pups. She came to us on Memorial Day after being loose on roads scared for more than 2 months. The only reason she was able to be caught is because she was too hungry and too pregnant to run anymore. She delivered 6 beautiful healthy babies the following Saturday.  Annie is doing a wonderful job of caring for them. They are growing super fast and she always keeps them cleaned and loved on. It will likely be September before any are vetted and ready for their new home, but we do allow pre-adoptions and visitors if you live near by. Annie is super shy to everyone except me, but it shows she is able to trust again.  She just would need time to get to know her potential adopter. Annie is also extremely malnourished from being on her own for so long, so it may take a hot minute before she is able to be spayed after she finishes nursing. Anyone interested in adopting her or the babies, will need to realize, it’s going to be a few months before they are ready. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.
