Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Please contact info@petadoptionservices.org for more information about this pet.BJ is a sweet beagle / dachshund mix girl. She looks like a beagle straight on, but when she turns to the side.....hello, dachshund! BJ came to us after her owner died. BJ is current on vaccinations, spayed, and microchipped. She has tested negative for heartworms and is current on heartworm preventative and flea preventative.  Notes from her foster parent 6/13/2026 (BJ is a new arrival as of 6/10/2026, so she is still re-acclimating to home life from her time in the shelter after her owner passed away): "She is sweet. Tends to want it to be close. Does whine a bit, but I’m hoping that gets better with time. She likes to sleep in the bed. She has had accidents in the same spot. HOWEVER,  she pottied (pee and poop) outside for the first time yesterday. She seems to be getting used to and excited for daily walks. She is curious but a little timid on walks. She does not like loud noises. She has a super shiny fur coat. She takes correction from my other dog." If you are interested in this pint-sized sweetheart, please complete a  Dog Adoption Application Our adoptions include a foster period of 4-6 weeks so that you can be sure that this pet is a good fit without any pressure, and we are available to answer any behavior or training questions during that time (and beyond, if you wish). ** Local adoptions (within Greater New Orleans area and surrounding parishes). We do not ship animals, as a part of our adoption process is for the potential adopter(s) to meet the dog to assess if he/she is a match for the family.Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 13, 2026, 12:58 pm

Story
Meet Galvez!Hi there! My name is Galvez, and I’m searching for my forever family. If you’re looking for a playful companion and expert snuggle buddy, I might be the perfect match for you!I’m an energetic pup who loves to do zoomies several times a day, so I’d be happiest in a home with room to run and people who enjoy playtime as much as I do. My foster family says I’m a “perfect specimen”—I’m not exactly sure what that means, but they keep complimenting my beautiful eyes, incredibly soft fur, and sparkling white teeth.I’m curious, eager to please, and a quick learner. I enjoy exploring new things and spending time with my people. One of my favorite hobbies is chasing my tail, which always seems to make my foster mom laugh.Whether we’re playing, learning new tricks, or cuddling on the couch, I’m ready to be your loyal companion. I can’t wait to meet you and start our adventures together!Could I be the missing piece of your family?________________________________________________If you would like to meet one of our adoptables or learn more about them, please submit an application at https://animalrescueneworleans.org/adoptfoster/.**Note: Our shelter is open by scheduled appointment only after your application is approved.
