Story
Meet Cory! Meet Cory! This sweet and social 7-year-old dog loves to explore and sniff around. An adventurer at heart, Cory is always curious about the world. Though he can be shy at first, he quickly warms up and shows his affectionate side. Cory has had good interactions with older children. He hasn't interacted much with other dogs, so a meet and greet is recommended. Cory is looking for a loving forever home where he can continue his adventures and soak up all the love he deserves.   Personality: Friendly, calm, Sweet Leash Manners: Does well on leash other than some occasional pulling. Favorite Activities: Sniffing and exploring on walks, getting pets and attention from his humans. Training: Has shown signs he may potty trained as he whines when he needs to go outside.   Volunteer Notes: “Excellent walker, loves to explore.” “Very calm and sweet.” “Very cute and is very good on the leash.”  “Such a sweet boy, very gentle” “Great walker, seemed interested in other dogs, didn’t bark once!”   *Just a heads up, the way dogs behave here at the shelter might not be exactly how they act in a home environment. Dog behavior can change once they find their forever family. These are just our observations from their time at the SPCA of SWMI.* ##2090039##

Story
Lady Lady is a Female Beagle/Boxer Mix DOB: August of 2021 Adoption fee: $150.00 I currently weigh around 40 pounds, I could use to gain a little weight, but I am a very nice size for those wanting a smaller/to medium size companion. I am playful and loving but unfortunately, I have tested light positive for heartworm. I am currently looking for a foster home or foster with the intent to adopt until I have completed my treatment. Not much information came with me when I arrived at the shelter except, my owners could no longer care for me, and very little vetting was provided while in their care. I have had at least one litter of puppies, but I am now spayed, and I feel so much better. I would do best with a physically fenced yard (I may require it). I walk well on a leash, and I appear to be house-trained. Pending a meet and greet, I may match with another dog. I have not been tested with cats yet but can be with an approved application. I would do my best with children 10 yrs. and older. I will make a great companion for the right situation.

Story
Molly is an approximately 5 year old beagle mix who currently weighs about 40 pounds. Her ideal weigh is about 25 to 30 so she is in need of a weight loss plan. Molly is working on her potty training and will tolerate crating but is very rarely if ever crated. She mostly ignores cats and is dog selective. Molly came to us with her 7 couple day old puppies from rural Kentucky. She is considered semi feral by her foster mom but can be handled and is non aggressive.  If you are viewing this pet's profile on Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet,.please use the application link at the bottom of the profile to apply. Story
Hi, I’m Bodie! Im a 1 yr old Beagle mix.  I am recently returned to HSAR because my family moved and couldn't take me with them.  I like dogs and kids and potty trained.  Right now I am pretty scared and not sure what is going on.   I just need some patience to adjust to my new surroundings.  I would really like a family to call my own and give me the time needed to get settled in....   If you are viewing this pet's profile on Petfinder or Adopt-a-Pet,.please use the application link at the bottom of the profile to apply. Clicking the "Ask About" button does not submit an application. It only submits a question which will delay an application submission.    All dogs are spayed/neutered, up to date on vaccinations as age appropriate, heartworm tested negative ( puppies age 7 months and older) and microchipped.  Adoption fee is $200.  There is a $5 fee for credit/debit cards.   If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs, please fill out an online application here: www.heartlandsmallanimalrescue.org/canine-application.html. ##1699054##
