Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Hello ladies and gentlemen, thank you for taking the time to learn a little about me. I'll be happy to tell you more. My name is Arlo. I'm a magnificent 2-year-old Beabull, a mix of Beagle and Bulldog. I weigh in at 56 lbs., I'm UTD on shots, chipped and neutered. Alright, that's the basic information. Now the important stuff. I'm the softest cuddle buddy you could ever ask for, but I also enjoy a good hike and will lay and watch you garden all day long. I'm curious and extremely eager to learn new things and enjoy 1 on 1 time with my foster hooman. However, adjusting to my surroundings I can be easily startled and have a habit of doing a standing prance and pounce if I am startled. Because of my natural interest, I recover quickly and investigate, sniffing and learning all about my surroundings until I am comfortable and familiar with it.  I enjoy my chew toys and have recently begun to play fetch and I'm really good about the drop it rule too!!! I have 2 dogs I go for walks and play with every day, and I get along great with them. NO CATS for me, please.  I enter training on November 1st for 10 weeks, so there's time for a meet and greet. If you think you might be my hooman, fill out an application today! I'm neutered, UTD on all my shots, HW, and FT. I have a microchip in case I get lost and will require a fenced-in yard, either physical or underground to keep me safe. RPSM recommends homes with children 6 years and older and NO CATS.
