Story
Meet Buddy Almost Home Foster Kennels, MN Lic. 132328 is a 501c3, not-for-profit, foster-based, rescue organization. AHFK is located in SE Minnesota in the Austin/Albert Lea area. AHFK is primarily a Beagle and small dog rescue. Our focus is to pull from High-Kill Shelters and to save those dogs that are at risk of euthanasia. All AHFK adoptions require an approved, completed application, a Veterinarian and Personal Reference Check, a smoke-free environment, and a home visit. Buddy's adoption fee is $300.00 All our dogs are completely vetted, spayed/neutered, and microchipped. We are currently accepting applications for Buddy. Buddy was surrendered to a Veterinary clinic in the Tulsa OK area. His owner had moved, out of country, and left Buddy with family members. The family did not want Buddy and surrendered him for euthanasia. The veterinary staff could not euthanize Buddy and kept him in a crate until they could find a rescue or adopter. Buddy lived in this crate for 40 days. Buddy needs a securely fenced yard as he loves to visit nearby neighbors and confiscate articles of property that do not belong to him. Buddy needs a human that will have time, patience, and love for him. He has been neglected and allowed to roam freely. He needs a routine and structure. He loves to be outside and thoroughly enjoys leash walking. Buddy shows some issues with resource guarding with other dogs. He has been through training and his new owner will have to carry through with positive reinforcement. We have not had an issue with guarding against humans. Buddy is of the Beagle breed, a natural hunter, therefore, we are looking for a home with a securely fenced yard and a family with one Pet Parent that is a stay-at-home parent, or one which works from home; a family that can help Buddy acclimate to her new surroundings and environment with compassion, love, and patience. Please allow 6-8 weeks for Buddy to acclimate to the changes in his life. We would also like Buddy to be the only dog. Meet and greets are scheduled upon approved, completed application. If interested in meeting Buddy, please complete the application found on our website: almosthomefoster.com

Story
Meet Ace – The Big Lovebug Who Just Wants to Be Included Ace has one goal in life: be wherever his people are. Whether it's a walk around the neighborhood, a road trip, a hike through the woods, or simply relaxing at home, Ace is happiest when he's by your side. He has a joyful spirit, a heart full of love, and a personality that makes it impossible not to smile. His foster says Ace always seems happy and is ready to go anywhere his people go. Ace Loves: -Walks -Hiking -Car rides -Tug toys -Playing with other dogs -Playing with toys -Chewing bones -Sniffing and exploring -Cuddling with his family Ace's Favorite Thing: Being with his people. Ace isn't the type of dog who needs treats to be happy. In fact, this lovable guy would much rather earn praise, belly rubs, ear scratches, and affection. Nothing makes his tail wag faster than hearing he's a good boy. A Big Heart in a Big Body Ace may look like a big, round teddy bear, but don't let that fool you—he's always ready for an adventure. He loves exploring, enjoys meeting new people, and has plenty of energy for walks and outdoor fun before happily settling down for cuddle time. One thing that makes Ace especially unique is how determined he is to make friends. His foster shares that their resident dog hadn't played with another dog since losing his canine companion, but Ace never gave up trying. Thanks to his patient, playful personality, he eventually convinced him to play—for about ten wonderful seconds. That small victory perfectly captures Ace's loving, optimistic spirit. A Few Things to Know: -House trained -Crate trained -Knows "Sit" -Can retrieve specific toys by name once he's learned them -Loves other dogs -Previously lived successfully with a cat -Likes children -Medium to high energy -Friendly with everyone he meets -May bark when excited or greeting new people -Pulls on leash and may jump when excited -Can have a little selective hearing when something interesting catches his attention -Can become overstimulated in busy environments but continues improving with positive exposure -Not particularly food motivated—he responds best to praise, affection, ear scratches, and belly rubs. Great Activities for Ace: -Hiking adventures -Neighborhood walks -Car rides -Playing with dog friends -Tug games -Exploring new places One-on-one adventures -Relaxing with his family after a busy day Best Match: -Active family -Calm home that enjoys outdoor adventures -Family looking for an affectionate companion -Home with another friendly dog or as an only dog -Someone who enjoys training through praise and positive reinforcement Three Words That Describe Ace Best: ❤️ Playful ❤️ Affectionate ❤️ Snuggler Foster Location: Galesville, WI Meet & Greet Availability: Ace's foster is happy to meet approved adopters within approximately 30–45 minutes of Galesville. Ace came to rescue through no fault of his own after his beloved owner entered hospice care and could no longer provide for him. He was deeply loved throughout his life, and it shows in the trusting, affectionate dog he has become. Now he's looking for another family to love just as completely. If you're searching for a loyal best friend who wants to be part of every adventure, celebrates every moment with enthusiasm, and believes belly rubs are the greatest reward in the world, Ace is ready to become your newest family member. Ready to meet Ace? Visit www.tailsofhopewi.org to submit an application.
