Dog Name: Lucy Breed: BeagleSex: FAge: 1 yrWeight:  23Foster's Location:  Dover Medical Needs: Currently being treated for kennel cough.  Housebroken: Does great on a schedule, but will not alert you if she needs to go.  Crate trained: Yes Good in the car: Yes Good on a leash:  Yes Energy level: Medium Need a fenced in yard: Not as long as you're willing to leash walk her. Her little beagle nose will lead her astray otherwise. Dog Friendly: Yes If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes?  No Cat Friendly? Unknown Kid Friendly: Unknown If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with?  9+ While there are no children in her foster home, we would still recommend a home with older, quiet kids for her own happiness. She's timid and would be scared of kids who run around and scream a lot. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them?Lucy was rescued from an abusive situation. Despite that, she still loves people. She wants to be by your side always, but has not exhibited any signs of separation anxiety. She will sleep quietly all night in her crate, or in bed with anyone who will let her. She gets along well with other dogs , although she is shy at first. She is very calm and quiet for her age and breed. She will likely become more active and playful as she gains confidence.  Application can be found here: https://www.grrde.org/adoption-application (if you already have an approved application on file email, GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app) ##1729608##

Story
Hello! My name is Frankie and I am an older beagle that needs to find a new place to live. I am approx. 9 years old and weigh 25-30 lbs. I was surrendered to Penny Angels in June of 2022 after being in a home for 5 years. I spent many months looking for my new home. (I don't always 'show' well at PetSmart and knew that I would have to work harder to meet the special person that was willing to give me a chance.) I was recently adopted along with another beagle but found my way back to Penny Angels because I didn't get along with the cats in the home. My previous owner tried to make things work and was so sad that I had to go back to Rescue. I need to be the ONLY dog in a home with older children (and NO cats, of course). I am neutered and up-to-date with my vaccinations. I am also current on heartworm preventative. I am house-trained and using a doggie door in Rescue. I will need to learn new rules in your home. I like to play with toys and enjoy lounging on the couch. I am active, at times, and enjoy going for walks. I walk best with a harness but I sometimes ‘pull’. Even though I am happy to be in Rescue and NOT in a shelter, I know that I would be happier in a home of my own. Do you have room in your heart for me? If you are interested in adopting Frankie, please fill out an application and submit it to Penny Angels Beagle Rescue. Frankie’s adoption fee is $225, cash or check. The application is available at www.pennyangelsbeaglerescue.com. If your application is approved, you will be contacted by email or phone and then will complete the adoption process at PetSmart in Mays Landing, NJ on Saturday between 11-2 pm. If you have any questions, contact beagler534@comcast.net or emnase@aol.com, or call Penny Angels Beagle Rescue at 609-965-9476. Thank you!

Story
Hello. My name is Morty and I am a friendly beagle boy that needs to find a new home. I am approx. 3 years old and weigh 28 lbs. I was found as a stray in New Jersey and ended up at a shelter in Ocean County. I had a scratch on my cornea and was taken to the vet a few times. I have eye drops that go with me in case of a flare-up, but I should be fine. I am a happy, tail-wagging boy that loves to eat. I get along well with other dogs. I am a strong boy and tend to pull when being walked. It would be best for me to wear a harness as I walk, while leading the way with my nose to the ground. I am using a doggie door in Rescue but will need to learn new rules in your home. Can you help me find my forever home? If you are interested in adopting Morty, please fill out an application and submit it to Penny Angels Beagle Rescue. His adoption fee is $225, cash or check. The application is available at www.pennyangelsbeaglerescue.com. If your application is approved, you will be contacted by email or phone and then will complete the adoption process at PetSmart in Mays Landing, NJ on Saturday between 11-2 pm.
