Story
I acquired Charlie & Bruce from a rescue place in Rochester, NY when they were 2 months old. They came to our house to bring happiness, love and companionship to my boys and my family. They are brothers and have never been separated from each other. They born on 05/18/2018 and they are very sweet, obedient, trained and loves people and other animals. I have a cat and I also had a bunny that grown up with them. Because of my husband work, we a out of the country We travel a lot, and I couldn't have time for them, and we cannot take them with us. We are heartbroken, but we expect to find a new family that can give them the love and care my family has being given to them until now. We would like to find a someone that accept both, because they are best friends and love to play together. We are willing to deliver them, and send any additional information needed.

Story
Rocket is a 2 year old neutered male Beagle. Rocket is good with kids, cats and dogs.  This Path to Home group starts 11/14/24 for 8 weeks. Volunteers For Animals and Orleans Correctional Facility have developed a Dog Training & Fostering Program within the prison that will provide socialization and basic obedience training for the dogs before being adopted. Volunteers For Animals will be pulling dogs from high kill shelters and locally who may be in need of behavioral support to become more adoptable. The dogs will then be transported to Orleans Correctional Facility where they will live with selected inmates who will care for them 24 hours per day for approximately 8 weeks. Each dog will have a crate, bedding, leash, collar, training treats, and food provided by Volunteers For Animals. A certified dog trainer will provide weekly training classes for the dogs and the inmates. The inmates will then work daily to reinforce the formal training with the dogs. Adoption Procedures The adoption process includes an application that is completed by the potential owner. If there are multiple applications on the same animal, the animal will go to the best home for that particular animal - not necessarily the first application. Fees for the Path Home animals are $200 per animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. All of the dogs are current on vaccines, heart worm tested and spayed/neutered. If you would like to be considered for any of the Path to Home dogs, please email us. Please do not call the Shelter regarding Path Home animals - they do not have any information. Email us at info@vol4animals.org regarding this program.  Here is the adoption process:   To adopt an animal you must complete an application and be approved. There is a $60 fee for any animal which needs to be cash or a check - NO CREDIT CARDS. If the animal is not spayed or neutered, there is a $35 deposit which will be returned upon proof of surgery. All dogs must be licensed before leaving the Shelter. Please note that public offices that issue dog licenses are not open on Saturdays and Sundays. All cats must leave in a carrier.   Thank you for considering a homeless animal.November 10, 2024, 2:23 pm

Story
Jolene was born around June 24, 2022 and weighs about 20-25 pounds.  Jolene came to us from Kentucky with the one hour at a time volunteer transport team and a very kind overnight foster person.  Everyone along the way adored her as we do now! Jolene did have a home in Kentucky with the town drunk and he tossed her out the front door and said he "wanted her gone".  A kind neighbor called her over and kept her until she could get her into the hands of another kind person and then she, tearfully, loaded her in the first transport car to come here to us.  She is very sweet and affectionate and really loves to be carried (good thing she's little) and snuggled with and have her belly rubbed.  Jolene rides well in the car and LOVES to wrestle, play, run, with other dogs and she does need another fun playmate in her next life and a large enough, physically fenced, safe area in which they can release the energy she has.   She is also a very good swimmer.  This is all we know so far and we will be learning as we go!  The Adoption Fee for this dog is $500.00 Adoptions fees vary based on adoptability. In general our fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, Home Again micro-chipping & registration, worming & flea control - a "complete" pet. We accept CASH or Visa/Mastercard ONLY.    Joyful Rescues has no funding except for our adoption fees and miscellaneous donations. Pet care and vet bills are expensive - you must be ready to take on this financial (as well as emotional) responsibility. YOU MUST BE AT LEAST 25 YEARS OF AGE TO ADOPT A DOG FROM JOYFUL RESCUES   We keep our pet list as up-to-date as possible. As soon as a pet is adopted, it is removed from the list. If a pet is still showing, it is still available for adoption.   Can't Adopt Me?  SPONSOR ME Look for the Link "Special Instructions to Seller" if you want to note a particular pet Before you seek to adopt a pet from Joyful Rescues, please read our Pet Adoption page http://www.joyfulrescues.org/pet_adoption.html.
