Story
Meet Davy Jones 🏴‍☠️This lovely lad here is Davy Jones. He is a 4 year old beagle, and he certainly acts like it. If you’ve ever been around a beagle, you know what I’m talking about. Energetic, playful, friendly, and incredibly loyal. Davy loves to have the room and freedom to run around and play to his heart’s content. He wants to go go go, especially if he has some companions out playing with him. Davy Jones would make an excellent family dog, and would fit right in with anyone and everyone. Davy has done well with all dogs he’s met, but of course, a meet-n-greet is required for any other dogs in the home, just to make sure everyone vibes well together. We are unsure at this time how well he does cats, since he’s still one of the new kids on the block here. One thing we know for sure, though, is that he is an absolute sweetheart with a heart of gold and infinite energy to keep up with all the activities and chaos that goes on in day-to-day life. Regardless of if you want a hunting companion, family friend, or even just your new best buddy for yourself, Davy Jones would fit in perfectly with your life.🐾

Story
‼️Arlo is not at Dekalb Humane Society‼️His current owners are holding onto him so he doesn’t have to come back. They are absolutely heartbroken to make this decision but they are doing what’s best for the dog in the situation. Please apply at DeKalb Humane Society if you are interested. This is the bio his owners took time to write personally: “Are you looking for a new best friend? Meet Arlo, he LOVES people, and he’s looking for his forever best friend.Arlo is a 1.5-year-old beagle mix with a big personality and a lot of love to give. His favorite pastimes include:Surveying his domain (the backyard)Running at full speed (he’s quick!)SunbathingSquirrel watching from his favorite windowGoing on literally any adventure (he’s awesome in the car)Chewing on his favorite BeneboneCuddling with his favorite humanGiving A LOT of kissesSitting on his favorite human’s lap to get a better view out the windowHowling with his humans. He has quite the singing voice! For the last 6-months, Arlo has been living with what we’d hoped would be his forever family. He has been well-loved by them. Unfortunately, we’ve found that Arlo would likely do best as an only dog, at least until he has worked through his resource guarding. Arlo does not resource guard with his humans, but he does with his current dog brother. The professional trainer he’s worked with believes this can be remedied, but his current human can no longer manage the situation due to circumstances outside her control. He also currently has a cat brother, who he is not a danger to, but who he does often like to chase. In the last 6-months, Arlo has made a lot of improvement with his “sit” command (he’s a wiggle butt and gets VERY excited about food). He is fully crate-trained, but if he knows you’re leaving the house, he’ll be quite vocal about it until you actually leave. He is accustomed to sleeping in his crate and stays perfectly quiet until you’re ready to let him out the next morning. If you want him to sleep in your bed, he’ll be thrilled about it. He’s fully potty trained and hasn’t had a single accident in the 6-months he’s been in his current home. His recall has also come a long way, and he typically comes inside when called, even when he’s not thrilled about it.Arlo would do best with humans who have a decent-sized (or large) backyard that is fenced in, so he has plenty of room to safely run and sniff. He’s also a high jumper, so a privacy fence would be ideal. He would absolutely love it if his human were home a lot during the day (a stay-at-home parent or work-from-home situation would be awesome). His current mom works from home, and he loves to hang out with her while she works.Arlo will bring along his crate, crate cover, crate pad, 2 favorite blankets, his favorite chewies, and his food/water bowls with a mess-control stand to his new forever home. And, his new family will get one free training session (virtual or in-person) with Jody at Green Dog Goods in Fort Wayne to help them understand how to help him through his resource guarding.Arlo isn’t just an adorable face. He’s a big love bug packed into a 21lb package.”An adoption application can be filled out on the DHS website https://www.dekalbhumanesociety.org/adopt. Dog adoption fees are $250.00 for all puppies and adult dogs. Seniors are a donation of choice.Cats and kittens are minimum donation $50.00

Story
Meet Jojo, a 2 year old, 30 pound beagle. Jojo was in a shelter in Virginia and wasn't getting any interest so he came into our rescue to look for his forever home. Jojo is very loving. He loves to get petted and doesn't want you to stop. He loves to run around outside and smell all the smells, and he does get the zoomies inside. He gets along with other dogs and he isn't aggressive with cats but wants to chase them so it's best no cats. He is good with children and loves car rides. Jojo likes to play with toys so a physical fence is required for this adoption as he will follow his nose.He is neutered,  microchipped,  housebroken, up to date on vaccines and his adoption fee is $300.00. RPSM DOES NOT HAVE THIS DOG, PLEASE CONTACT NICKIE AT  734-250-5367   Daisy is an 8-9 year old Beagle / Bulldog mix.  She is a round ball of love, personality, and snuggles.  Daisy May loves to play with her toys, get belly rubs, lounge on fluffy blankets and pillows, roll and jump in the snow, and cuddle up with any person she meets.  Daisy is known to enjoy a good car ride and excitedly wags her chicken-nugget-tail whenever she goes outside and the car door is open.  While she is a bundle of snuggles and love, Daisy May is a stubborn one and wants things the way she wants things.  She’s a gal that knows what she wants and when she wants it.  She is very trainable, yet patience and persistence are definitely required by the trainer.  Daisy is healthy and strong, yet she likes her cookies a lot, thus carries a bit of extra cushion.   Daisy would do best in a home with children that are older than toddler-age as she gets grumpy when people are too rough with her.  Daisy May cannot be in a home with other animals.  With other animals, Daisy becomes territorial with food, people (she has NEVER been aggressive toward people), toys, and her space   RPSM DOES NOT HAVE THIS DOG, PLEASE CONTACT NICKIE AT  734-250-5367 ##2622964##

Story
Meet Lucy 🐾 — a 12-year-old beagle mix who has officially entered her “retired HOA president” era. Lucy enjoys the finer things in life: quiet strolls, comfy beds, judging your life choices from across the room, and pretending she didn’t hear you call her name (she did… she simply chose peace). She’s a little more aloof than clingy, which honestly just means she respects personal space like a true classy lady. As a seasoned senior citizen, Lucy would prefer to meet all dogs already living in the home before moving in. She’s not interested in chaos, drama, or “puppy energy.” At this point in her life, she’s curating her social circle carefully — as she should. Think of Lucy as that cool aunt who shows up late, steals everyone’s heart without trying, then leaves early because “traffic.” Dogs: Must meet all pups in the home! Cats: Unknown Kids: Unknown, we rec. a meet and greet!
