Waco is a very sweet girl. She came in with a microchip but sadly owner didn't register the chip and the clinic that implanted the chip had no info...(not sure how that ball got dropped but...) Anyway, she is a sweet girl, who loves to give kisses and go for walks. She is approx. 40 lbs and an adult female. Visit her at the Rockbridge Spca or email manager@rockbridgespca.net. She will be available after Feb. 23rd. heartworm tested: negative visit our fb page: dogs of rockbridge and rockbridge spca. NOTE: all animals adopted are taken straight to a local veterinarian for spay/neuter. We do adopt out of area providing adopter is will to make more than one trip. There are NO exceptions, and we do not hold animals. All Kittens and puppies must weigh 2 lbs. for surgery and there are a limited number of veterinarians in our area that will do a pediatric spay/neuter. please note the Rockbridge Spca does not have emotional support animals or service animals. we do not adopt to college students, however, they are welcome to volunteer. a home visit may be required

Layla is looking for someone who will give her the patience, love, and reassurance she needs as she continues to come out of her shell Adoption fees are $350 unless otherwise stated. Senior dog adoption fees are $200. 100% of adoption fees are put back into the rescue so that another lonely and neglected dog can be rescued. We are grateful for your interest. Upon approval, the adoption fee is non-refundable. The fee includes the following: de-worming; heartworm, lymes, ehrlichia and anaplasmosis testing; all vaccinations including rabies; flea and tick treatment, microchipping and spay/neuter. Rex is a loving, 4-year-old Beagle/Australian Shepherd mix (53.3% Beagle/47.7% Australian Shepard) who weighs about 33 pounds and is looking for his forever home. He enjoys meeting people and giving hugs and kisses, but he needs time to build trust and has important boundaries. Rex should be the only pet in an adult-only home. He is protective of food, toys, and people, and will do best in an environment where he does not feel stressed about needing to share them with other dogs. Additionally, his personal space must always be respected as he has a history of reacting to being startled while sleeping. When given the opportunity to approach people for affection rather than being approached, he is a wonderfully, loving boy. Rex needs an experienced, dog-savvy adopter—ideally someone familiar with herding breeds and resource guarding—who can provide consistent structure, training, mental and physical enrichment, and predictable routines. He must be allowed to settle in at his own pace, which may take months or longer. With patience and commitment, Rex has the potential to become a trusting, wonderful companion; he has already made strong progress with a knowledgeable foster. We are seeking an adopter in Virginia or the surrounding area.
