Meet Ginny, a sweet and playful girl with a gentle, submissive spirit. Ginny is spayed, up to date on vaccines, and both house and crate trained, making her an easy addition to a home. While she enjoys short bursts of play, she is truly a cuddler at heart and would much rather be snuggled up with her people than constantly on the go. She absolutely loves being outside. Whether she is out on a walk or happily rolling around in the grass, nothing seems to bring her more joy than fresh air and time outdoors. Ginny has done well living with other dogs, cats, and kids, making her a wonderful fit for a variety of households. She previously lived peacefully with her more dominant buddy Greta, who has since been adopted, and she currently gets along great with her foster brother, a 1-year-old Aussie mix. She also cohabitates calmly with a cat. Ginny is around 3 to 4 years old and currently weighs about 42 pounds. With regular walks and a consistent routine, she could stand to lose a few pounds. She has an easygoing, affectionate personality and loves attention, especially when she can be snuggled. Ginny is currently in a foster home, so meetings are by arrangement. My wife Lucy and I adopted Roberta from Aarf shelter in Richmond about 6 years ago. She was about a year old at the time. Shes healthy and has never had health issues. She has velvety soft fur and is a sweetie pie. She has an uncanny food motivation and loves people, although she oscillates between friendly and indifferent to other dogs, given other stimuli. (She has a hound brother) She is potty trained (knows the expectation) and mostly potties outside but will sometimes potty inside. She loves her crate but has always, since we tried to crate train her as a pup, gotten anxious when its locked. Her ideal home is with someone who can give her lots of love and attention. She loves walks and open spaces outside. Top 6 Roberta descriptors: 1.Sweet 2.Loyal 3.Soft 4.Impeccable Snuggler 5.Independent 6.Hungry! She adores people, loves to play, and fills her foster home with joy through all the classic puppy antics that make you laugh and fall in love daily. Her past is already fading as she embraces her new life with an open heart and a wagging tail. Lovey is bright, food-motivated, and eager to learn, which has made training a wonderful experience. She is crate trained, learning leash skills, and doing great with potty training both outdoors and on pee pads. She approaches every new lesson with enthusiasm, clearly wanting to please and connect with her people. Lovey is expected to grow into a 30–35 pound adult with a rich golden short coat and the sweetest, most expressive face. She will be a devoted companion whose heart belongs fully to her family — the kind of dog who wants to be close, loved, and included in everyday life.   Viola is a beautiful soul that we think is about 3 year old  and a Beagle mix girl. This black and white beauty with adorable speckled legs and a sweet She only weighs 20 lbs and has the sweetest smile and absolutely loves people. She was found as a stray that was taken to the shelter very scared and almost shutdown while there. Her human mother died and Viola is now 5 years old. Unfortunately we don’t really know her story, but we feel there is some trauma there in her past. It takes her a little bit to get used to people and even longer for dogs. She wants a safe place to observe (wire crate suggested)  till she figures it out. Her foster kept her behind a gate and her bed was her safe place. For a few days she would growl through the gate at the other dogs but after that it was over. We would leave the gate open and she would venture out and if she got nervous she would go back to her safe place. She is never ugly to the other dogs at her foster and  if one of the Chihuahuas was mean to her,  she just ignored her. We have her using puppy pads because there is  no fenced yard. Viola would definetly need a fenced yard so she can safely explore and have potty breaks. The outdoors makes her nervous still.
