Soldier Boy up in this HOME! Hi there! My name is Soldier Boy. I might be eight years old, but don't let my age fool you—I've still got plenty of love and life in me! I'm a handsome German Shepherd mix, weighing in at 75 pounds. Life hasn't always been easy for me, but I'm resilient and grateful for every moment. I've had my fair share of challenges. I have a little trouble with my hearing and sight due to an eye disease, but it doesn't stop me from enjoying life. I just need a bit of extra care, like my daily dose of Optimmune (~$65 per tube) to keep my eyes comfortable and my monthly injection of Librela (~$100-$200 depending on the vet) for my arthritis. I am also taking Proin (~$30 for monthly supply depending on where purchased and market value) for urinary incontinence. Don't worry, I take my joint supplements like a champ! My journey brought me from the San Diego streets to the shelter, where I found myself on the euthanasia list due to my age. Fate had other plans for me, and thanks to the kindness of rescuers like Babs Fry and The Animal Pad, I got a second chance. Now, I'm living my best life in a foster home, where I've been thriving ever since! I'm a sweet, affectionate boy with a gentle soul. I get along great with other dogs, big or small, but cats aren't really my cup of tea. I'm friendly with humans of all ages, but I think I have a special soft spot for the guys. I'm house trained and well-mannered, and I know my basic commands like a pro. I enjoy leisurely walks, occasional playdates with furry friends, and of course, lots of treats! I'm not too interested in toys, but I'll never say no to some quality cuddle time. While I might have a tendency to bolt out the door, I promise I'm just eager to explore the world around me. With a little patience and a secure martingale collar, I'll be your loyal companion through thick and thin. I'm looking for a forever home with a loving family who understands my needs and appreciates my gentle nature. Whether we're cuddled up on the couch or out for a stroll in the park, I'll be by your side. So, what do you say? Are you ready to welcome a sweet senior like me into your heart and home? You can also check me out of my foster’s Insta @fostersfromsandiego My adoption fee is $150 and that includes spaying/neutering, shots, and microchip. German Shepherd Dog

Female, 1 yr 9 mos
Southern CA, CA
(when grown) Large 61-100 lbs (28-45 kg)
Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Needs special attention, Spayed or Neutered, Shots are up-to-date,
Location: Washington Jessie is about 1.5 yrs. old. She is very friendly, sweet and loves to meet new folks. She is also dog friendly with dog of all sizes. She has a medium energy level. She is a shadow dog that needs to be right with her people at all times. She would not be a good fit with small children, as when she gets over stimulated, she can jump and get playfully mouthy. Not in a mean way, she is just young. Jessie has a few health issues. She has a 5/6 heart murmur. She does just fine with it, but in the future will most likely need vet visits to monitor it. She also has thyroid issues she takes meds for every day. She came in with a severe head tilt and it's believed to be caused by her thyroid issues. Her tilt has gotten way better since on the meds. She also gets car sick and does not enjoy long car rides, short ones are fine and she does really well in the car. Do you think this sweet girl would be a good match for you? Kona is a sweet, smart, healthy, and athletic girl. I adopted her in 2016 and at the time, the vet said was 2-3 years old. I was single then and had lots of time time to spend with her. I’m now married with two small children, a full time job (active duty military) and a husband who deploys regularly. I can no longer give Kona the get the exercise or attention she deserves and she is home alone all day which causes her anxiety. It pains me to have to look for a better home for her, but the circumstances of my life aren’t fair to her. I’m hoping to find someone who can love her and give her the attention she deserves.
