Zennia is a social, affectionate girl with a big heart for people, play, and being included, especially if it means you're getting in the car! She loves car rides so much that when you walk toward a car, her whole body wiggles because she thinks it’s load-up-and-go time. This girl is confident and unbothered in the best possible way. This means her foster family has had a front-row seat to the Zennia show and they shared with us so much of what they have learned about her! The first thing is the best! When asked what would make Zennia the happiest in a forever home they enthusiastically said- “A yard and a playmate!” Zennia is a wonderful playmate and truly thrives with the opportunity to run and roughhouse with a playful dog daily. The other side of that is that once Zennia has had her run/play/chase time she is more than happy to come in and relax but she needs that outlet, so a home with a playful dog friend and a big yard where she can get her energy out would be a great fit. In Zennia is both house and crate trained and benefits from regular crating. Her crate is clearly a space of calm and she enjoys the permission to “turn-off”and truly relax. In the crate she is quiet, calm, no barking, and no accidents. When Zennia isn’t getting constant attention (like during work hours), she is able to self-regulate usually taking a nap or quietly hanging out with a stuffy in her mouth. Zennia has met and lived with a wide variety of dogs from older, dominant females to small scruffy easy-going guy. Her immediate love connections have all been with dogs that equally enjoy play and are unbothered by a little rough-and-rowdy play. Her two best playdate-pals are about her size, one goofy black lab male and a female pittie with a body-builders physique. Both she runs and wrestles with, taking breaks here and there to soak in the sun before returning to a game of chase or wrestling in the grass. Zennia has shown really lovely dog-social-skills. She is respectful of boundaries, accepts even frustrated corrections, and has shown she can share treats, toys, and affection without concern. When she is working in a group for a treat she does this hilarious thing where she paws at other dogs who aren’t doing their commands, like she’s saying, “Hurry up, dude!” It makes her foster laugh every time! Zennia has been around kids in the home ages 4-17 (including a 17-year-old with Down syndrome/autism) and she is great! A few times we could see that when kids were invited over, Zennia was fast- friends with the kids- truly gravitating to them for play and connection. In the home, she has been the kind of dog who wants to meet everyone, love everyone, and recruit every dog into her “let’s play right now” agenda. She is quiet when people arrive, no barking at the door, no barking when people come in, whether she’s met them before or not. Zennia loves meeting people and seems especially fond of men. In general, she has warmed up quickly to new adults and kids who have been introduced to her and she really shines when she gets time to meet and bond with people, loving baby talk and treats. One of Zennia’s funniest quirks is her kitchen manners, because she knows she’s not supposed to cross the kitchen line… but she’ll sit right at the edge with her head peeking in like an eager little sous chef. If she can sneak in, she will try, and yes, she will beg, but she does not jump on tables or snatch food out of anyone’s hands, even with kids running around with food in hand. Zennia has been confident and unbothered by the world around her. No fear of cars, no reactivity to people and she handls normal outside noises plus things like an electric scooter without issue. She walks easily on leash with minimal corrections needed. Zennia has lived with chickens and although she can live with them if they are enclosed, she cannot be unsupervised around chickens because she will pester and stalk them, and even if she doesn’t see them, the sound of them gets her excited. Zennia will also benefit from a cat-free home, her love of chase and play does not stop when it comes to feline friends and we all know, cats do not appreciate that. With a face like that, you saw it, and a name like Raja, I'm pretty sure he was supposed to guard a royal castle but instead he took a few clown classes and caught the first bus pointed somewhere fun. He may have the looks for it but this big ol’ boy was born to roll on his back and beg for belly rubs. Raja is actually a gentle, prayerful soul whose greatest mission in life is loving his people deeply and, again, protecting them. He rides beautifully in the car- though he does expect that most trips will start (or end) in a pup cup or a kolache. (Honestly?Me too. And in his case, he is usually right. He has earned it afterall.)I will warn you now, Raja has a level of pretty privilege that defies explanation- drive-thru workers hand him snacks, on the house, and his local kolache spot sends his favorites at the first sight of his foster mom, even when he’s not present. Charisma like that cannot be taught, only appreciated and admired. In the car, Raja takes his role as protector very seriously-his life’s mission includes keeping an eye on suspicious windshield wipers, rogue plastic bags, and anything else that dares to move unexpectedly. Rest assured, if something seems questionable, Raja is on the job. He starts low with a few thoughtful barks and keeps it appropriate, just enough to make you feel like you’ve got a very devoted (and extremely handsome) co-pilot on duty. At home, Raja is equally committed to his guardian duties. He has a big, impressive bark and will happily let you know when someone is at the door; especially if it’s the Amazon delivery driver. Think of him as your personal announcement system with a marshmallow heart. Raja plays wonderfully with other dogs during playgroup and can be bouncy and playful, with great dog manners and an understanding of when to take breaks. Raja is looking for a home confident, goofy dog friend (preferably female) but what he really wants is to be an only child, where he can soak up all the attention and be your one-and-only! He enjoys dog friends in short bursts, but his happiest life will be as the star of his own castle. In the home Raja is a big couch potato. Raja truly wants to be with his people and a very typical Rottie! As far as children, he would love a home with older kids (12+) who can enjoy his size, cuddles, and toy-filled playtime. We love how well he self entertains and relaxes in a home.Give him a ball, a patch of grass, and a person to love, and he will be heart-full and set. Truly, this boy is one of the best self-entertainers you could meet (or watch for entertainment) and watching him happily amuse himself is pure joy. He does need a home with a yard (that grass patch matters), and he’s looking for a cat-free home. He once loved a stuffed toy shaped like a cat and, bless his heart, does not understand the difference between plush and pet (or so the lore goes.) Better safe than sorry, right? Raja is smart, affectionate, and deeply bonded to his people. If you know and love Malinois mixes, you already know what makes them so special- it’s their intelligence, devotion, and unstoppable drive to bond deeply with their person. Wendy here embodies all of that and more. She is also stunning with a soft coat of mixed brown and black fur, a set of amazingly alert ears, and the warmest eyes that just land with connection. Wendy has a dedicated foster who has spent time and energy into ensuring Wendy is best prepared for life in her future home. It didn’t take long for her to show everyone just how much love, joy, and loyalty she has to give. She lives peacefully with three other dogs -two females and one male - and plays happily with them every day. At home, she’s cuddly and affectionate, the kind of dog who leans into you for pets and nudges your hand when she wants more. She’s also well-trained and wonderful on leash - walking politely at your side, calm and focused. Wendy even completed two months of professional training (circle back to her dedicated foster), which helped her master basic manners and develop her natural intelligence. Like many working breeds, she thrives with structure, exercise, and mental enrichment. Daily walks, a good run, or a game of fetch will keep her happiest -she’s athletic, agile, and loves having a purpose. Outside of the home, Wendy can feel unsure in new environments. Me too Wendy. My solution is to just keep it simple- it works like a charm. If you are looking for her to be your tag-along pal please know it is not part of her natural demeanor but she can learn. She’ll need a confident, experienced adopter who understands how to help a Malinois mix build trust and decompress in a new home. Once she bonds with you, she’ll be your shadow, your biggest fan, and your most loyal protector. Because of her strong bond with her people, she may have a little separation anxiety at first, hello to most any and all shepherd mixes- they miss their people, but with patience, routine, and reassurance, we do know she settles in beautifully. Wendy does best with the company of other dogs and would love to be the +1 to another medium-energy dog. Not only does it give her a much appreciated playmate but it helps her confidence when initially settling into a new space and routine. She did meet our house cat and was respectfully cautious but we are recommending a cat-free home currently based on her foster sharing she has tried to chase a street cat. If you are interested in Maggie and have cats we are happy to do a much more thorough cat-test to truly determine her limit. She’s wonderful with other dogs and adores her humans, including her foster family’s gentle 4 year old nephew. She likes him!
