Animal Profile: Bodhi is a 3-year-old, 78-pound Beauceron mix. This guy is full of spunk and loves to play. Sadly, Bodhi found himself at risk in an overcrowded shelter simply because there wasn’t enough space.  Foster Update:  Bodh i is a sweet boy who wants to be close to you. He takes time to warm up to new people and is committed to his people onces he has established a bond. He does well with other dogs off leash and is able to adjust his play based on the size of the dog . Bodhi loves to play and loves ALL the toys! He will grab every toy from the basket and happily entertain himself. He doesn't want to destroy them and no toys have been eaten/chewed apart. He also doesn't care if Louise wants a toy–he will happily let her take it and find another one. As Bodhi has settled in with us he has demonstrated more of guardian breed behavior and reactivity on leash. He is a strong boy, will pull on leash, and will need an experienced handler. Given these tendencies we think he will be better in an adult only home with large breed experience. Bodhi will do best in a single family home with a fenced yd; we are not considering apartments for Bodhi.   Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $575 which includes spay/neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, heartworm test if applicable, recent exam with a veterinarian, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as DGS is a 501c3 organization. All adoption fees go toward the care of all dogs in our rescue.  Apply Online: www.DogGoneSeattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: This dog was rescued from Stanislaus shelter in California, arriving to foster care in Seattle on 11/13 via START. This tall refined gentleman comes to us with high society manners already in place thanks to our friends at Whatcom Humane Society. He`s dashing, understated and oh so loving.Kid and cat status are unknown as he came in as a stray. We recommend older kids due to his size and refined tastes, slobber, boogers and chaos might get his bowtie in a knot.Murphy has been a participant in playgroups. He calibrates his style to match that of the other dogs, all the way from rowdy to gentle. He will take breaks and come lean on your legs. We recommend bringing in your dog (s) from home to ensure a good match.This smarty has graduated Canine Companion Training Class (at WHS) and knows sit and down with duration, take it, leave it and recall. He is a tall guy so he has a long stride. It may feel like pulling if you`re a pokey puppy but get your Richard Simmons on and move those legs! Don`t worry he`s super trainable if you have short legs.Murphy`s perfect home would appreciate his loyal self and allow him to go at his own pace. He can be wary of strangers so just let him approach vs the other way around. He would enjoy regular walks, snuggle times on the couch and likely a household that isn`t too chaotic. Don`t miss out on this one, he`s special, a soul dog just waiting...
