When your application is approved, you will need to pick her up from the airport - such as SFO, SEA, JFK, LAX, IAH, YVR, etc. International adoption is not a complicated process and we‘ve done the process for many years. We would be happy to explain to you how the process works. Mini's Rescue Story Personality: Mini is absolutely the most perfect FMD (Formosan Mountain Dog) we have ever encountered. No word describes her better than "perfect." Mini was once tied up with a heavy chain outside a house. The house was empty—no one lived there. The owner had simply tied Mini and another dog there, often leaving them without food or water. Since both dogs were chained and unable to forage, they could only bark for help. It was these barks that a member of our rescue organization heard while passing by. The rescuer tried to find the owner but quickly realized the house was abandoned. Neighbors said the owner only came by occasionally. Because the dogs were chained on private property right by the door, the rescuers couldn't take them immediately, so they committed to bringing them food every day. One day, the rescuer saw Mini wandering outside alone. Unsure why she had been abandoned, Mini was just moving aimlessly, sniffing for food, and even approaching people for attention. When she saw the rescuer from a distance, Mini recognized her. She quickly ran over and immediately lay on the ground, rolling onto her belly to show affection. Knowing Mini had been deliberately abandoned, the rescuer took her home immediately. What makes Mini so incredible is how incredibly smart and friendly she is. She immediately learned to use pee pads indoors and was accurate every time. Her calm, non-confrontational, and incredibly optimistic personality means she gets along wonderfully with people (including children), cats, and other dogs! Mini's rescuer summarizes her by saying: "Goofy, great natured, and very easy to care for." This perfect personality makes her an ideal match for both first-time and experienced families. Mini spent her early life chained up and hungry. Now, she is ready to find her forever home—a home that can give her the warmth and love she has always deserved. Basic Information * With People: Is a bit shy and feels uncomfortable with people at first. When she gets used to them, she welcomes them, and barks happily as if displaying her feeling of intimacy! * With Dogs: Growls at new dogs at first and expresses discomfort. Recently shows her reluctance to go to where other dogs gather. Feels uncomfortable when she has to share a living space and tries to avoid going there. Does not chase after other dogs nor attack them, though. Has recently shown persistent interest in a new friend, so we are focusing on training to address the issue. * With Cats: When encountering cats on a walk, she gets very excited and runs to chase them. Sometimes shows aggressiveness at them, so caution is needed. * Separation Anxiety: Currently lives at our center, so it's hard to know for sure. * Potty Training: Is 100% outdoor potty trained, even though she is staying alone in her separate kennel. * Walks: Loves walks, especially running or trotting ones! My name is Ms. Marley and I am an affectionate, sweet, playful, smart, and quiet 3 year old gal. I am part Belgian Malinois and part Labrador retriever. I weigh about 62 lbs and I measure about 20 inches at my shoulder. There is a good chance that I will greatly benefit from a 'job' within my family home. After all, my breed background is to be a working dog. I am not likely to be a dog who sits in front of the fire and just relaxes most of the day. When I was about four or five months old, I got a viral enteritis causing diarrhea. My then “owner” didn’t want to spend the money to get me treated so I was dropped off at the terrible shelter in Wuhan, China. The terrible shelter wouldn’t take me because they didn’t want to spend the money treating me either. A really nice lady volunteer took me to her vet to get me treated and brought me to her shelter. I have been at her shelter for about a year. I am a good girl who loves to play, being still a young pup. I get along very well with the other dogs and I also love my rescuer and her family. I so long to have a family I can call my own and to flourish with them. I'm told that I am very trainable. So far, I have some leash-walking skills and I have a nice relationship with my rescuer's young daughter. I don't know any cats so I'm not sure how I would be around them. I have been spayed, microchipped, and immunized. My adoption fee is $800.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. Video meet and greet available prior to commitment* This dog is a collaborative effort between Moka's Mission and Houston Chow Chow Connection. Mocha is a fluffy mixed pup just eager to find her new lease in life. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Texas just moments before being euthanized. She is believed to be around 4 years old, and based on behaviors definitely has GSD, Chow Chow, and even possibly husky mixed in her as well. Current weight around 65, 70 lbs. Mocha is a smiling, eager to please, extremely intelligent pup who clearly has been desperate for reaching a potential that was never offered to her prior. She loves to play with toys now, ( was unfamiliar with on arrival) and can be quirky, and vocal during her playful bouts. A game of tug which result in some head pats is her favorite. She also is very smart, and when given attention and motivation is quick to learn. She already knows several basic commands including sit, shake, kennel, wait, settle, and leave it. She is extremely versatile and once she trusts you, will give you her best. If you want to go hiking or exercise, she is all about it. If you want a pup to relax in the home and enjoy a movie day, she is ready! She loves to curl up on the couch or at your feet when it's time to settle down, but when it's time to go she is the first one to be there and ready for you. She also loves to keep you company while you do the most menial house chore's such as laundry or dishes. Mocha clearly was kept away from other dogs and animals when she was owned previously, so we do think she'd be best as an only pup. Proper continued socialization training would be required in order for her to eventually be able to share space with other dogs, but she would need to be socialized as an only dog first before considering adding another in. She clearly has a desire to want to know other dogs and can walk by them and flirt while on leash just fine during walks. However, she hasn't had enough time and proper playmates to engage in playtime at present without being rough. Unfortunately, she is not ok with cats, which is to be expected of the breeds she possesses. Mocha is fully vetted meaning she is up to date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped and on monthly prevention for flea, tick, and heartworm.
