Story
Hi Humans!! I’m ACE.  When I arrived at Butts County Animal Control a few weeks ago, my spirit was horribly broken. Every sound, movement or touch made me so nervous, and I was timid around everyone who tried to get to know me.  But NOW!  The humans here have shown me so much love!  And that’s something I’ve never really experienced before. Humans haven’t always been kind to me, but like most dogs, I’m very forgiving. I’ve even decided I’d like to have a few humans of my very own!  Do you know anyone who knows my breed and would like to share their life and home with a handsome Malinois like me?   The only thing still broken now is my beautiful left ear. No one really understands why I can’t lift it, but it  doesn’t slow me down of course. Just makes me unique and slightly more adorable.  When I leave this place, I sure will miss the female  dog friends I’ve made.  My favorite friend is Kenya. She and I get along so well that our humans often let us play together outside in the play yard but now she's been adopted so I'm lonely again.   However, I am not too fond of male dogs, at all.   And during temperment testing, I snapped at my handler briefly when I was corrected so I will need to be adopted by someone with breed expereience with Belgian Malinois, who will put in lots of time to train me and work with me.   Apply online to foster or adopt me at buttsmutts.com    ##1655184##

Needs experienced adopter, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Duchess is ~3 years old, and i rescued her from Fulton County Animal Shelter in October 2022. Duchess is very sweet and gentle, but she needs to be an only dog. She thrives on individual attention, and loves all people that she meets. Duchess is a great dog, and she is fully obedience trained. She knows commands such as: sit, down, stay (release phrase “you’re free”), place, heel, and she is house- and crate-trained. While she was initially fear-based dog-reactive, with training she is now neutral towards dogs unless they react first. I can go to busy dog-friendly places without reactions or issues. She is e-collar trained and responds both with and without her e-collar. I am rehoming her because she gets jealous and lashes out at my Golden. In one of the recent incidents, she accidentally bit me when I was separating them. It was my fault since I was trying to separate them in the dark without being able to see. She will come with her crate, e-collar, and favorite toys.

Story
Meet Major. Major arrived at the shelter on 05/15 through no fault of his own. His owner passed away and no family member or friend could take Major. Sadly we do not have a lot of information on Major but he is an awesome boy and very sweet. He is very smart which comes naturally to the breed. He knows, sit, stay, shake and lay down using voice and hand signals. He loves toys of all kinds and really loves to play ball. Major is 5 years old and weighs 57 pounds. Perfect size. Major is current on vaccines, micro-chipped and tested negative for heart worms. He will be neutered upon adoption. He is waiting for you in run 87 and his ID# is 644820. I am sure his former owner would be happy to know his best friend found a new forever home. Please note, all of the pet listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers, not shelter staff. If this pet came in as lost (not an owner surrender), we don't know how they might be with children, other pets, or if house trained. You can bring your pet to the shelter for a meet & greet with your potential new best friend. When calling the shelter about a cat or dog, please use THE ID NUMBER, names are oftentimes made up by volunteers. This pet and many others are available for adoption from the Cobb County Animal Shelter 1060 Al Bishop Dr. Marietta, GA 30008, call (770) 499-4136 for more information. Shelter hours are: Tues. - Sun. 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. by appointment only until further notice, CLOSED Mondays & Holidays.

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Meet Summer, a beautiful, petite, female Belgian Malinois mix who is not quite 2 years old.  Summer is a sweet, sassy, intelligent girl who is an absolute blast to be around.  She is super loving and wins over the hearts of everyone she meets.  Summer loves retrieving bumpers and balls in the lake with her Labrador Retriever foster brother. This gorgeous girl has been working with an excellent trainer, who initially thought she’d be best suited in K-9 work.  However, after spending time with her, the trainer believes while she is capable of the work, he would rather see her in a loving home given her sweet and engaging personality.  In other words, she’s smart, athletic, and incredibly charming!  Summer will be an amazing dog for someone who enjoys the working breeds and endearing mischief.  A “leader of the pack” person who has experience with working breed dogs and is committed to keeping Summer exercised, engaged, and stimulated is the person who wins here.  Summer will be your best friend and loyal companion! Summer get’s along well with other dogs (male and female), but no cats.   ##1472848##
