Story
Manchas is a 2 1/2 year old purebred Belgian Malanois. He is a sweet and cuddly big guy who thinks he is still a baby. He is great with kids, cats, and others dogs! He is a very smart dog who has ALOT of energy. He has gone through 2 training programs and knows plenty of commands. Unfortunately our landlord has prohibited dogs of his breed and we want to make sure he goes to a loving home where he can have plenty of activity and care. This breed requires time and attention due to their very active nature.

Story
Meet Sasha 💛 Sasha’s story didn’t start the way it should have. This beautiful Malinois mix puppy was found dumped behind a Publix — but that chapter is closed. Now, her story is about structure, second chances, and becoming the incredible dog she’s meant to be. Sasha is currently completing professional, breed-specific training with a trainer who specializes in Malinois and shepherd breeds. She’s learning foundational obedience, impulse control, confidence building, and proper socialization — because dogs like Sasha thrive with guidance and purpose. About Sasha: • Incredibly smart and eager to learn • Athletic, driven, and loves having a “job” • Loyal and people-focused • Thrives with structure and consistency As a Malinois mix, Sasha will do best in an active, experienced home that understands working breeds. She is not a couch potato — she’s a partner. Whether it’s hiking, training sessions, enrichment work, or continued obedience, she’ll shine with someone committed to keeping her mind and body engaged. Sasha is looking for: • A structured, active household • Preferably breed-experienced adopters • A home committed to continued training • Someone ready to invest in her long-term success She wasn’t given the right start — but she’s getting the right foundation now. With the proper leadership and love, Sasha is going to be an extraordinary companion. If you’re ready for a smart, driven, loyal girl who will give you her whole heart, Sasha is ready to meet you. 🐾

Story
Dogmeat is an approximately 10 month old Belgian Malinois. She was found by a client of mine underweight, severely dehydrated, filthy, and flea infested. She appeared to have been living outdoors. She is out of her stray hold, has been vetted, chipped, and has put on significant weight in the couple weeks I’ve had her. She currently eats six cups of Victor High Energy per day. Despite her unfortunate beginnings, Dogmeat has a phenomenal, exemplary temperament for her breed. She is human and dog social, highly food motivated, medium prey drive, and moderate hunt drive. She is affectionate, confident, and biddable. She has not been evaluated for bite work. BREED EXPERIENCE REQUIRED.

Story
Pepperoni – ID 17327 – Kennel 316 Arrived March 3 – Belgian Malinois – Black and Brown – Male 6 months old – 40 lb (estimated adult weight 60–70 lb) Will be neutered prior to adoption – Up to date on vaccines Pepperoni is a handsome young Belgian Malinois puppy with a sleek black and brown coat and those signature alert ears that make this breed so striking. At just 6 months old, he is still very much a puppy and has a lot of growing, learning, and blossoming ahead of him. Pepperoni came to the shelter with his three siblings and their mother after the owners said they simply had too many dogs. Sadly, the puppies had very little exposure to the outside world. Because of this, Pepperoni and his siblings are quite frightened and unfamiliar with things like walking on a leash. Right now he needs to be carried outside, but with patience, kindness, and gentle training, he will learn and gain confidence. As a young Malinois, Pepperoni is intelligent and full of potential. This breed thrives with structure, training, and an active lifestyle. With the right adopter who understands working breeds and is willing to help him build confidence, Pepperoni can grow into a loyal, devoted companion. Pepperoni has had a rough start and is still learning that the world can be a safe place. What he needs most now is a patient, caring home where he can feel secure, learn at his own pace, and finally experience the life every puppy deserves. Story
Ruby – ID 17317 – Kennel 855 Arrived March 3 – Malinois Mix – Brown Brindle – Female 2 years old – 50 lb Will be spayed prior to adoption – Up to date on vaccines – Heartworm negative Ruby is a stunning brown brindle girl with bright eyes, endless energy, and the intelligence you expect from a Malinois mix. She is a typical Mal — active, alert, and incredibly smart — but she is also very sweet and affectionate once she connects with her people. Ruby came to the shelter after her family said they had too many dogs. She arrived with a male dog and her four puppies. The family chose to keep the male, sadly leaving Ruby behind to start over on her own. Despite everything she’s been through, Ruby remains loving, eager to interact, and ready for a fresh start. At 2 years old, Ruby is in the prime of her life. She would thrive with an active adopter who understands working-breed dogs and can give her the exercise, structure, and mental stimulation she enjoys. With her intelligence and enthusiasm, she will excel with training and loves having a job to do. Ruby has already shown that she is a devoted and caring girl. Now she just needs someone who will choose her — someone who will give her the forever home she truly deserves. Note - all the listings on Friends of Shelter Animals for Cobb are done by volunteers. Story
Major Mally is an all-around amazing boy! Smart is an understatement; he is very easy to train and likes to please! He knows heel (leash walking), a stop command, off, touch, sit, and down. Major is reported to be house-trained and to have previously lived with other dogs with no issue. He is playful and funny with children, but at 80 pounds, he can knock little ones over just because he's not aware of his size. Major would thrive with an active person/family. He is the perfect running/walking partner & playmate. He would excel at agility, dock diving, etc, as he is so smart & eager to please, but not hyper like a purebred Belgian Shepherd. The best of both worlds! Major is 3 years old & 80lbs. If you'd like to find out more about making this gorgeous pup a member of your family & to see whether (s)he would be a good fit in your home, please fill out our adoption form here: https://airtable.com/shrlL2pbqSGTRJiyc *If you live in rented accommodation, please familiarise yourself with the property management's pet policy. Our adoption fee covers an initial comprehensive veterinary examination, age-appropriate vaccinations, a heartworm test, (for dogs > 12 months), parasite screening with treatment if needed, flea/tick treatment if needed, microchip, spay/neuter, heartworm preventative medication, (for dogs > 3 months) plus any other medication or treatment needed up until the day they are adopted. *The breed mixes listed are an educated guess, based on both temperament and appearance*

Story
Meet Bix! We met Bix one May afternoon when we were visiting a metro area animal shelter. Huddling in the back of her kennel, just skin and bones - we knew we needed to save her! Bix is a 2-3 years old German Shepherd, perhaps with just a smidge of something else in there to account for her smaller than normal size. She's great with other dogs and oh so so smart! Her favorite past time? Playing ball! Bix will play ball for hours!! Interested in adopting? Meet Gary!  Gary is one of two remaining pups from his litter that just turned a year old in December and we just don't understand why! We were told that his mother was a purebred German Shepherd but we don't have any info on Dad.
