Story
Every time I rescue a dog I want to know their backstory. Ronin’s story is like something out of a movie. Ronin was raised in a hoarder home in Apple Valley California with approx 19 other Malinois. On April 26th this year the couple that owned the home got into a domestic dispute, the wife stabbed the husband and after the husband escaped the home allegedly the wife set the home on fire. The wife along with 12 of the Malinois died in the fire. Ronin and 7 of his siblings were rescued and taken to Apple valley shelter, where we were able to rescue him and his two brothers just hours before euthanasia . Ronin is such an intelligent, loving and unconditional dog. He has so much gratitude, intelligence and love for life, despite having lived most of his in a cage. He is such a sweet guy who has seen so little in the world, we are hoping that an adopter who wants to make up for lost time and give him the life and love he deserves is right around the corner.

Hanzo is another dog that we know very little about except that he was found as a stray and spent three months in a high kill shelter waiting for his owner to get him or someone to adopt him, and that did not happen. Hard to believe because this guy is the most handsome charmer, he s good with other dogs, he is intelligent and honestly probably capable of becoming whatever kind of dog you want to train him to be. He has a great temperament and is not an off the wall Mal without an off switch. It is possible he is purebred, but he does seem to have a lot of doberman characteristics. Luke is the kind of devoted , loyal dog that will follow you to the end of the earth and we nothing but the same for him. Please reach out if you would like to schedule a meet and great.

Ava is such an amazing dog. She was found with her sister and her mother (a Belgian Malinois and it was later determined with a DNA test that her father is Rottweiler as her test came back 50% Mal and 50% Rottweiler.) they were dumped in the desert in Southern California. Their mother was rescued from rurally based shelter that does not get a lot of foot traffic, but despite how sweet, adorable and healthy the girls were, they sat unnoticed, until a generous sponsor sent them to us. The girls were so scared when they first got here their tales were tucked between their legs for the first 2 days. You could tell everything was a first time experience for them, that I have been so grateful to be part of. Ava's sister Brielle was adopted a couple of months ago, but we still have this playful, derpy, sweet and intelligent girl. (It is also worth noting she is the size of a small pony for people looking or not looking for a large dog.) If you would like to meet Ava let us know, you will not regret it, I promise!

Azalia’s past is a giant mystery. We know nothing about her except she was picked up by animal control as a stray and taken to a high kill shelter. Despite her good behavior, calm temperment and stunning looks, Zalia was listed for euthanasia after just 5 days due to her catching an upper respitory infection while in the shelter. A friend reached out us about her being euthanized later that day and even to my surprise she had no rescue interest. Ever since we are told by everyone that meets her how charming and sweet she is. She is also very intelligent and fun to train. (she would love an adopter that understands working dogs) And while she is relatively high energy, she has a great off switch and has settled in her crate like a champ. We know very little about Leela except that she was picked up as a stray. She was given her 72 hour notice after just a week of being in the shelter, partially due to overcrowding but also bc she was scared and confused, and would bark at people as they approached her kennel. She was very stressed and fearful in the shelter, but now that she is out and here with us we can see that she is the most playful, energetic, intelligent and charming beauty. Although you can tell that she initially does not trust people, it does not take Leela long to lower her guard and then you see how affectionate, loving and eager to please she is. She would love to have a consistent and loving person as her own. If you think you are that person, please get in touch.

Aiyana is the sweetest, tiniest little mal that survived a pretty scary experience of being catch-poled and brought into a high kill shelter as a stray. She was given just 4 days to be rescued before being scheduled for euthanasia. Yana has continued to impress me with her intelligence, resilience and adaptability since she got here. She is an amazing dog that will thrive with an active, structured and loving home.
