Story
Hi all! I’m Coop’s foster mom & I want to tell you all about him! First of all, I love Coop! He’s a happy wiggly puppy who loves attention!! He has bunny soft fur & makes the best Netflix binging buddy! He’s extremely smart & is very food motivated but he takes treats sooo gently! He is great with kids!! He loves toys & he acts like you gave him the best present in the world every time he gets one! He does a happy dance & looks like he’s made of rubber!! Coop has a doggy girlfriend in his foster home who he loves to play with. He sometimes gets too excited & she has to remind him not to be a brat!  If you are looking for a loyal friend Coop is your guy! We have no idea what he is ( think Heinz 57 mutt) and he’s around 40 lbs so he would be perfect for someone with breed or size restrictions!! Seriously he’s crazy soft, & has giant bat ears !!  Apply to adopt Coop today!! You’ll love him as much as I do!! ~ Coop’s foster mom PS: he knows how to eat off of a fork!! All of our dogs are spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, microchipped and if over 6 months of age, heartworm tested and on heartworm preventative in their foster home. We require an approved application to meet any of our dogs. We do not have a shelter location and will not arrange a meeting without an approved application. We strive to make sure the bios provided for our dogs are complete and accurate; we do understand that mistakes happen, however, so if you absolutely cannot find the answer to your question in the dog's bio, you can contact us for more information. We require a home visit for each dog we adopt out, so we adopt within a 2 hour radius of Dayton, OH. If you are outside of this radius, we encourage you to contact your local rescue or shelter.   May 6, 2024, 10:24 pm

Story
Meet Tony, a 10-month old possible Belgian malinois/Lab mix. Tony weighs anround 50 pounds. He and his liter mates are from a rural county in KY, and in December they were all surrendered to the shelter. We were fortunate to get Tony. His foster Mom says he is an amazing boy, and she is very familiar with the breed so knows a good one when she sees it. Tony was understandably very scared on the trip to Cinn, but rode great in the crate with no crying or whining. When he was taken to the vet a week later he was just tethered, and behaved very well in the car and at the vet. He walks very well on a leash. His foster home has a GSD and 2 pug mixes. All he wants to do is play with them, but sadly they are seniors so prefer to sleep most of the time. He has absolutely no aggression, and learns quickly. He has quickly learned sit, come and shake paw. He is not even crated at night. He loves toys, and will pull all out all of the toy basket. He is also a very affectionate boy; loving attention from his people, and loves to cuddle on the couch, but we are teaching the word off and he is responding. To adopt Tony we are looking for a home with another dog who likes to play; but best would be a dog closer to his size as some small dogs may not appreciate his playfulness. A home where his family wants to work with him would be good. A fenced-in back yard is also required as he does like to run. Tony is neutered, microchipped and current on vaccines.

Story
This is Evans, a shepherd mix! He’s 10 weeks old as of May 1. He came to HART from Georgia via a rescue specific to Belgian Malinois, the breed of his mother. Evans is calm, attentive, and reasonably independent for a puppy. He’s progressing very well with house training. He likes walks and playing outside. He’s good with other dogs. He already exhibits the intelligence, loyalty, and inquisitiveness his mix of breeds suggests. Overall, he’s a sweet and cuddly friend that loves to be around his people. Would this smarty complete your home? If interested in meeting Evans please fill out an application at www.rescueahart.org!

Story
Meet Pratt! He is a 10-week-old (as of May 1) shepherd mix. He came to HART from Georgia via a rescue specific to Belgian Malinois, the breed of his mother. Pratt is a little cautious at first, but he has a big personality once he settles in. Crate and house training are going well because he’s super intelligent. He likes to roughhouse, especially outside. Pratt is great at entertaining himself, but he likes to be at someone’s feet. He’s content to be on the floor, but you won’t hear him complain if you want him next to you, especially if it’s bedtime. He sticks close to his people and likes to know what is happening around him. He already seems like a classic loyal shepherd with traits that will make him an excellent forever friend. If interested in meeting Pratt please fill out an application at www.rescueahart.org!
