Story
Meet Cairo (aka Big Dog) 🐾 Looking for a loyal sidekick, adventure buddy, and professional Velcro dog all rolled into one handsome package? Meet Cairo — a 4-year-old neutered Belgian Malinois with a big personality and an even bigger heart. Cairo’s story started rough. He was found wandering the Texas countryside as a stray, severely underweight at just 50 pounds and too weak to stand. Today, this resilient boy has transformed into a healthy, happy 65-pound goofball who’s ready to leave the dusty roads behind and finally find his forever home. At first, Cairo can be a little reserved and cautious while he figures you out. But once you earn his trust, you’re officially his person. From that moment on, he becomes the ultimate Velcro dog — following you from room to room, leaning against your legs, attempting to climb into your lap like he’s a tiny puppy, and giving dramatic sighs if you leave him alone for too long. Like a true Belgian Malinois, Cairo is whip-smart, intensely loyal, and always ready for his next job — even if he occasionally invents one for himself. He’s the kind of dog who wants to be part of everything you do, whether that’s hiking a trail, tossing a ball in the backyard, or supervising your every move around the house. Malinois fans know the breed’s magic: fierce devotion, incredible intelligence, and a bond that runs deep. Cairo brings all of that… plus a goofy streak that keeps life entertaining. He’s equal parts loyal protector and oversized clown. One minute he’s on neighborhood watch duty with his serious “I’ve got this handled” bark, and the next he’s prancing around with a toy in his mouth like the happiest dork alive. He’s expressive, hilarious, affectionate, and absolutely full of personality. The Good Stuff: Crate trained and happy to relax in his kennel Mostly house trained and learning routines quickly Dog-friendly with excellent play energy Smart, eager to learn, and highly trainable Loves tug, fetch, puzzle toys, and interactive games A Few Honest Notes: Cairo is looking for an adult-only home or one with older, respectful teens. Young children make him nervous, and he does best when his space and boundaries are respected. He also cannot live with cats, chickens, or other small animals due to his prey drive. What Cairo Needs: Cairo is looking for someone who appreciates everything that makes a Belgian Malinois special — intelligence, athleticism, loyalty, and that deep desire to be connected to their person. He’s not a “sit around all day” kind of dog; he thrives when he has structure, activity, and a job to do, even if that job is mastering puzzle toys or joining you on outdoor adventures. Give this boy guidance, consistency, and plenty of love, and you’ll get the kind of once-in-a-lifetime dog people rave about. In return, Cairo will give you unwavering loyalty, endless laughs, and the kind of deep bond Belgian Malinois are famous for. If you’re ready for a smart, protective, hilariously clingy best friend, Cairo may be your perfect match. Apply today and give this big goofy boy the forever home he’s been waiting for. ❤️ Adoption only in Texas at this time $200 adoption fee

Story
We adopted Aquila in Brazil. He was born in 06/19/2019 and we adopted him in October. His owner couldn't handle him (Belgium malinois is not an easy brees...who had one before, knows that). He is smart, learn easily and is a great hunter and protection dog.We trained him for a year! He is great, and would do a great security dog for a farm or house with a big backyard.Unfortunately we had to move to a smaller place, and now, he just have a balcony. We was walking with him 3 times a day, and he was doing great, but know, our landlord doesn't like when he barks. He just barks when a specific neighbor is walking her dog and choosing the grass under my apartment to play with her dog. Apparently, they are " pet friendly" but not so friendly as we expected.Looking for a responsible new owner, who understands about dogs behavior and is willing training him.Aquila loves activities: catch ball, run, go to a hiking, hunt, but he is not a pet, he is a wild dog.

Story
COURTESY LISTINGThis dog is a courtesy listing (not in the AARF program) but we will be reviewing applications and helping the owner find the right home for Mali. Please visit http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-app/ to apply. Mali is an energetic, intelligent girl who lights up when she has a job to do and a person to love. This 3.5 year old, 55 pound Belgian Malinois is active, athletic, and happiest when she is moving, learning, or exploring the world alongside her favorite human. Mali loves jogging, hiking, walking, and turning everyday outings into adventures, especially if squirrels are involved. She is incredibly smart and knows an impressive list of commands including sit, down, stay, come, heel, place, wait at doors, find it, and going into her crate. She truly enjoys working and learning, although she is not a candidate for service dog work. Training for fun, enrichment, and bonding is where she shines. She can be a bit reserved with new people at first, but with treats, patience, and a walk, she warms up nicely. She is very clean in the house, fully crate trained, and when she is crated she primarily naps while her owner is gone. Mali loads easily into the car and walks beautifully on leash when given clear direction. She bonds deeply with her person and wants nothing more than to be someone’s loyal, devoted best girl. Mali would do best in an active, dog-savvy home that understands the breed and enjoys regular exercise and training. A quieter household without cats or young children and with a confident, similar-sized male dog companion would likely be the best fit. If Mali sounds like the perfect adventure partner for you, please contact us for more information.  Interested in adopting?
