Manu has spent many months in a foster home living with three large female dogs, one senior male chihuahua and two humans. If you're looking for a companion for your own dog, this is your boy: think "dog's best friend", more than "man's best friend." When Manu arrived at the shelter last year, he would just lie rigid with fear in his kennel staring at the wall but as soon as he made a dog friend, he started to find enjoyment in life again, and more confident dogs helped him to see that the human carers were trustworthy. It takes several days for a new person to earn that trust, and until they do, he will just avoid them-- no fear-based aggression at all. Manu has been living on a very quiet ranch and taking two daily walks with the other dogs, getting so excited when he knows it's time; in this mood he really enjoys being petted and gives full body hugs. When he isn't on a walk, Manu chooses to hang out in the yard in the morning and evening, and when it's too hot/wet/cold for him outside he can be found in his crate or under the kitchen table, which he has made into his little den. The door is always kept open and he will come out and investigate what's going on in the rest of the house from time-to-time, but mostly he is happily chewing on a toy, or sleeping. Manu ADORES the other dogs in the home, especially the energetic pittie mix, and they play so enthusiastically. He is very polite to the little dog, who has no interest in playing. Since being in a foster home for a few months, his confidence has grown tremendously. He now enjoys car rides, and trips to the lake at off-peak times of the day. Manu couldn't be an easier houseguest. He keeps to himself for the most part, so if you're wanting a movie time snuggle buddy, look elsewhere (we have a bunch of those), but he will get on the couch to spend time with the other dogs and doesn't mind if the humans are already on there.

Bonnie is 7 years old. Bonnie is energetic, loyal, and very smart. She is very easy to train. She can sit, shake, roll over, and she knows other commands. She loves humans and is a huge people pleaser. She loves cuddles and pets. She is completely potty trained and will usually potty the second she goes outside. Bonnie is not spayed. We would prefer for Bonnie to go to a home with no other dogs, since she can get protective over toys. Bonnie gets along with all other animals such as cats, and is also very good with kids. Bonnie has been around a toddler for two years, and she does great!

This is Valentino, or Tino for short! He's super sweet and shy but opens up once he trusts you. I rescued him on the day that he was to be put down as a family friend was going to adopt. Since then the friend was unable to take him in. He is a perfect family dog and is great with people and dogs. He's house trained, doesn't chew anything and is very quiet. I would absolutely keep him except I just can't spend enough time with him to give him the life he deserves. He is a noble and worthy life-long companion!

I've home Kane for 10 months, my lease is over. Moving to a smaller unit & working more! He's very loving & playful.. He loves spending time in his Kennel, which is referred as his room! He lets you know when he needs to go out, by softly whining. He knows sit, paw & lay down. He rarely barks, very attentive & fully alerted when outdoors. I absolutely loved how he's always aware of our surroundings & constantly looks over his shoulder to the back of me as we walk. I would love to keep him, unfortunately he doesn't have the open space & doesn't get much play time outdoors. I found him abandoned last year in November & couldn't leave him out there. I have less than a week to find him a safe loving environment who's able to give him the love he Deserves!

Cricket spent a few weeks in a foster home with horses, other dogs, and kids. Here is what his foster family had to say: This little guy is such an easy houseguest, he is so calm and quiet it's like he's not even here! Cricket is an affectionate snuggle bug, if you sit on the floor he will wiggle right into your lap and look at you adoringly. He gets along great with other dogs; his play style is very submissive and respectful. He walks nicely on a leash, probably because he loves people and just wants to be close. This sweet boy is also housebroken (he takes himself outside though the doggy door), crate trained, and we still have not heard him bark. Cricket behaved perfectly at his first off-site adoption event! He was so gentle, allowing both adults and small children to pet him all over. His calm energy was comforting for the other shelter dogs at the event, helping them to relax and enjoy themselves. Cricket truly checks all the boxes, he is a really special little dog! If you are looking for a loving, gentle and low-maintenance addition to your family, please come meet Cricket! He is absolutely darling.
