Story
Meet Levi *****Belgian Malinois Adoption requirements***** The dog you have selected is a Belgian Malinois. This is a breed that has very specific needs for an adoptive home. Because of their need for a high level of exercise, both mentally and physically and their need for ongoing training, only applicants with demonstrated owner/handler experience with this breed will be considered. The vast majority of them are not best suited as family pets, but in homes with experienced handlers knowledgeable of their needs and breed characteristics. We will not place in homes with small children or small dogs/cats. Levi is a young male Malinois estimated to be 2-3 years old. He came to Saving Paws from a shelter in CA. Thanks to the popularity of some recent movies, many people have bought Malinois puppies with great intentions and then weren't able to provide the kind of environment needed for a Malinois to thrive. Levi seems to be one of these and is looking for a second chance in a home that will love and understand him for who he is. Levi is an affectionate dog who loves getting petted and hanging out with humans. He has a high play drive and is happy with any kind of ball. Although Levi is socialized as a pet and bonds well with people, it appears that he was hurt by humans in the past and does not respond well to hard corrections. Levi is eager to learn and to work and would thrive with someone knowledgeable of canine behaviors and experienced with positive reinforcement training. He has great potential to be a really excellent dog for someone with the time and knowledge to bring out the best in him. Levi has behaved neutrally with other dogs residing at Saving Paws; this boy prefers human companionship over canines. Are you the special human who can provide a loving and busy home for our Levi? If you can give Lexi an indoor forever home, please fill out our online application on our website at http://www.savingpawsrescueaz.org/adoption-form/ We will only schedule meet and greets with an approved application. We are an all-volunteer organization. It may take a couple of days to process an application and complete reference checks. Thank you for your interest in saving a life!

Story
Ruby’s birthday is April 13, 2020. She has so much character and it breaks me that we have to find a good home for her. Ruby loves walks, she loves to bite on the leash as she’s walking with you (almost like she wants to walk herself, lol). She LOVES to play and loves to have big bones to chew on, but don’t let her fool you, SHE WILL finish that big bone within 10 minutes of having it or later on that day. Ruby LOVES to put her paw on your lap & you scratch her chest or the top of her paws. She is such a big baby and a loving dog. She is crate trained (but doesn’t like to be inside for too long, SHE WILL escape), she needs a little more help with being leash trained. She can come off a little off with other dogs. When she was a baby, a big dog but a little chunk of her ear off and she has been coming a little aggressive towards other dogs ever since then. She does love to get through the trash cans, she loves to snack with you too. She LOVES when you pamper her up too.

These pups are in Gilbert, Arizona too!

Story
Drumstick is a 7 month old Shepherd who joined us recently from a county facility, where he was surrendered as a stray. Drumstick is exactly what you'd expect from a 7 month old puppy, a puppy! He is super sweet and playful but needs to learn his manners on how to walk on a leash, not jump, etc. Drumstick is living at our adoption center and would love to meet you!No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Meet Ravi! Ravi is a 7-1/2 year old German Shepherd blend. He is a big, lean boy and weighs around 75 pounds. Ravi has a very gentle and sweet personality. He loves hanging out on the couch, and sleeps on a dog bed next to his foster mom's bed. Ravi uses the dog door and hasn't had any accidents in the house. He loves walks and he does get excited when he meets other dogs. He loves attention from humans and likes to know where everyone in the house is hanging out. Ravi has previously lived with another dog and a cat (as long as the cat doesn't run!), and is currently in a foster home with 2 other dogs. He is an excellent passenger in the car and seems to really enjoy car rides. Ravi loves toys and balls and has chosen a big stuffed fish as his favorite and carries it around everywhere. He listens and follows directions well. He knows sit, stay, come, wait, and will give you his paw. Ravi is gentle taking treats. Ravi is a ""safety first"" kind of boy so he has learned to get in and out of the pool! Ravi is residing in one of our amazing foster homes, and if you would like to schedule an appointment to meet him, please come and see us or email Debbie@AzFriends.org. Ravi is neutered, licensed, current on vaccinations and microchipped. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Story
I’m a handsome 2-month-old male German Shepherd mix. Carrie On Rescue rescued my mom, Ingrid, and her puppies from the county shelter. We were born on August 14, 2023. Our mom and foster parents have taken very good care of us for the past 2 months and now we are ready to be adopted. Here is a bit more information about me: I’m a very handsome, sweet, loving, playful, active and super smart baby boy. I get along great with everyone I meet: including the dogs and cats in my foster home! I have already started working on house training. I’m looking for a nice family or person where someone is home most of the time to be able to continue my doggie and house training, socialization and who will provide me with lots of love. Since I’m a very active puppy, I will be a great student for doggie obedience classes. While I’m an indoor dog, I also need a home with a large, safely fenced yard to run and play in with my family. I am not suited for apartment/condo/mobile home/town home living. If there are children in the household they must be over the age of 7 years as they have impulse control. I’m neutered, current on my puppy vaccines, dewormed, vet checked and micro chipped. My adoption fee is $400 which helps cover just some of these expenses. Please contact Carrie On Rescue if you have any questions about me or if you would like an application for me at carrieonrescuers@hotmail.com or call them at (480) 603-7680.
