Story
Meet Gunner ❤️ Gunner is a handsome 7-year-old Belgian Malinois/Husky mix who is sadly searching for a new home due to a change within his family. Having been adopted as a young puppy at just 2 months old, Gunner has spent nearly his entire life with the same family after being rescued alongside his six siblings through BTBPR. This transition will be a major adjustment for him, and we are committed to finding him a loving, stable home where he can feel safe, secure, and cherished once again. Gunner is an incredibly friendly and affectionate dog who loves people of all ages, including babies and children. He has been raised in a home with another dog and a cat and has done well with them throughout his life. He enjoys being close to his people and is happiest when included as part of the family. While Gunner loves to snuggle and relax with his humans, he also has an active side and will need a family that can provide regular exercise and mental stimulation. He enjoys walks, hikes, and outdoor adventures, though he would benefit from additional leash training to help him become more polished on walks. An active household that understands the needs of his breed mix would be ideal for him. As Gunner adjusts to losing the only home and companions he has ever known — including his humans, children, dog, and cat friends — patience and time to decompress will be very important. He deserves a family willing to help him through this transition with understanding, consistency, and love. If you believe Gunner may be a good fit for your home, please fill out an adoption application so we can arrange a meet and greet. A home check is required prior to adoption. His adoption fee is $125. Let’s help Gunner find the forever home he deserves — one filled with love, stability, and plenty of adventures. June 20, 2026, 11:07 am

Story
*Bluebell* At 12 pounds, Bluebell is a confident little explorer with a gentle soul. She's always the first to venture into a new room, conquer the stairs, or investigate something unfamiliar. Curious and courageous, she approaches life with bright eyes and a wagging tail, making every new experience an adventure worth having. Bluebell has an easy confidence that shines through in everything she does. She greets larger dogs with polite curiosity, takes life's little surprises in stride, and quickly bounces back if something startles her. She's even met the family cat with calm, respectful interest. Nothing seems to rattle this sweet girl for long. When it comes to water, Bluebell is a natural! She happily splashes in and swims with graceful confidence, as if she's been doing it her whole life. After a day of exploring, she's ready to curl up for a well-earned nap, happily resting at your feet while keeping one eye on her favorite people. Bluebell is wonderful with children and loves being part of the family. She's affectionate, eager to learn, and enjoys both adventures and quiet cuddle time. Like all puppies, she will thrive with continued obedience training, regular walks, daily exercise, and positive socialization to help her grow into a happy, confident, and well-balanced adult dog. If you're looking for a loyal companion who's equal parts brave, sweet, and endlessly lovable, Bluebell is ready to lead the way straight into your heart. *Buttercup* At just 10 pounds, Buttercup is a bundle of joy with a huge heart. She wakes up ready to play, then performs her signature "Snuggle Shuffle," happily curling up beside her sleepy sister until she's cozily draped on top. Buttercup sees a potential friend everywhere she goes. She confidently greets even the biggest dogs with a polite little wiggle and quickly bounces back if an unexpected bark startles her. She's also fascinated by the resident cat, watching with bright-eyed curiosity and fearless confidence. Water is one of Buttercup's favorite things! Whether she's splashing around or swimming like a little pro, she has the best time. Once playtime is over, she's happiest snuggled up right next to her favorite people. Buttercup is incredibly affectionate and loves being by your side, whether you're relaxing on the couch, working around the house, or heading out on an adventure. Not good with kids, Good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Hi… I’m KK. And I’ve been waiting for you. I may look like a strong, confident Belgian Malinois—and I am—but my story didn’t start the way it should have. Not long ago, I was found in a broken-down car on the side of the road. The windows were rolled up, and I wasn’t alone. I had three tiny puppies with me… my babies. I didn’t know where my human went, and I didn’t know why we were left there. All I knew was that I had to protect them. I was scared, tired, and fiercely determined to keep my puppies safe. When people came close, I didn’t understand their intentions, so I made it very clear: no one was getting near my babies. It took time—and patience—for the right people to safely help us. But eventually, they did. They got us out of that car and into safety. We were taken to animal control, and from there, I was given something I hadn’t had in a long time—a chance. Central Arizona Animal Rescue welcomed me and gave me a quiet, safe place to raise my puppies. I got to be a mom the way I was meant to be. And I did it. I raised them, protected them, and watched them grow strong. One by one, they each found their forever homes. Now… it’s my turn. I’m about a year and a half old—still just a young girl, really. I’ve been spayed (so no more puppies for me), I’m fully vaccinated, and I even have a microchip to help make sure I never get lost again. I’m ready to go home today. But I want to be honest with you. I’m a Belgian Malinois, and that means I have a LOT of energy. My body wants to move, my brain wants to work, and my heart wants to connect—but I never really learned how. No one ever taught me how to play ball, or what toys are, or how to channel all this energy into something fun. I want to interact with people… I just don’t quite know how yet. With patience, training, and love, I know I can learn. I want to learn. Right now, I share a kennel with a male dog my size, and we get along well. But little animals? Cats? Tiny dogs? I’m not sure about them, and my breed tends to have a strong prey drive. It’s safest if I go to a home with dogs around my size. And kids? I don’t mean to be too much—I just am too much right now. I’m still learning how to control my excitement, so I need a home without small children for the time being. What I truly need is someone experienced—someone who understands high-energy dogs like me and is willing to guide me, train me, and give me structure. In return, I’ll give you loyalty, intelligence, and a bond like no other. I’ve survived uncertainty. I’ve raised my babies. I’ve proven I’m strong. Now I’m ready to learn how to be yours. If you think you might be the one who can give me the life I’ve been waiting for, please reach out. I’m here, waiting, hopeful, and ready to begin again. Email Mike@caaronline.org to set up an appointment and come meet me. Love, KK   PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question, please ask in the e-mail.   All dogs are adopted on a first come - first served basis. Story
Sweet Hana was a gentle and kind mama to 9 puppies after coming into rescue with them in tow! She did a wonderful job and all of her little ones have been adopted. Now it's time for this gentle mama to experience a life of love and belonging. She is ready for her forever family and will be a loving addition to her new home. She is very quiet and wants nothing more than to feel safe and comfortable. She is completely house trained and sleeps on a soft bed or sometimes curls up on the couch. She would be a loving companion for another dog as she gets along well with other dogs. Come meet Hana in her foster home in Gilbert.
