Story
Blossom is a 4 year old 47 pound Shepherd blend who joined us recently and is now looking for her forever home. She is easy to handle, and knows basic commands, such as "sit." She LOVES toys and will happily play with you, or amuse herself. She's also a fan of the baby pool. This beauty is living at our adoption center and hoping to meet you soon!No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the animal. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Meet Ravi! Ravi is an 9 year old German Shepherd blend. He is a big, lean boy and weighs around 75 pounds. Ravi has a very gentle and sweet personality. He loves hanging out on the couch, and prefers to sleep on a dog bed next to his human's bed. Ravi is house trained and dog door trained. He loves walks and he does get excited when he meets other dogs. He loves attention from humans and likes to know where everyone in the house is hanging out. Ravi has previously lived with another dog and a cat (as long as the cat doesn't run!). However, he doesn't like to share his food so he'll do best as your only canine companion (but he can always meet new dog friends as long as there's no food or treats involved!). He is an excellent passenger in the car and seems to really enjoy car rides. Ravi loves toys and balls and has chosen a big stuffed fish as his favorite and carries it around everywhere. He listens and follows directions well. He knows sit, stay, come, wait, and will give you his paw for shake. Ravi is gentle taking treats. Ravi is a "safety first" kind of boy so he has learned to get in and out of the pool! Ravi is neutered, licensed, current on vaccinations and microchipped. He is being spoiled by one of our amazing foster homes, and will be at the adoption center on Saturdays from 10am-4pm. You may email Debbie@AzFriends.org to arrange a weekday meeting. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Story
🌸✨ Meet Isabela – A Blossoming Star from the Encanto Litter! ✨🌸 Born on December 12, 2024, Isabela is a female Border Collie, Rottweiler, Pit, Staffordshire, and Australian Cattle Dog mix, and weighs around 21 lbs. With her vibrant personality, boundless energy, and affectionate heart, she’s more than ready to bring joy and adventure into her forever home! Why You’ll Love Isabela: • Bright & Bouncy: Full of classic puppy energy — always ready to play, run, and make mischief in the best way! • Social Pup: She plays wonderfully with her siblings and medium-sized dogs. She adores her doggy friends, though she plays rough and doesn’t always respond to “stop” right away — best suited for dogs who enjoy rowdy play! • Super Smart: Already crate trained and doggy door trained, Isabela knows commands like sit, lay, shake, knuckle bumps, and even tosses her own toys to chase. • Affectionate & Quirky: Loves being held like a baby, enjoys paw massages, tail rubs, and even joins you in the shower. She’ll follow you everywhere — especially to the kitchen, where she’d love to help cook. • Vocal (but polite): She barks at birds and lizards, but listens and stops when asked. • Nature Girl: Loves digging, chasing lizards, and running around outside. Not a fan of wind or things that move in the dark — but her bravery is growing daily! Home Needs: • No apartments. She needs a large yard to burn off energy. • Active family or playmate required — she’d thrive with someone who hikes, swims, runs, or has another playful dog at home. • A home with firm boundaries will help her continue learning and thriving. Social Compatibility: • Dogs: Great with medium/larger dogs and siblings. Plays rough, so small dogs may not be ideal unless well-matched. • Cats: Tolerates the neighbor’s cat through the fence, but full compatibility unknown. • Kids: Unknown. • Men: Yes, she does well with men. Health & Readiness: • Spayed • Almost fully vaccinated • Crate trained & doggy door trained • Not leash trained yet Fun Facts: Isabela is incredibly smart, fiercely independent, and endlessly loving. She digs up gardens, chases lizards, and cuddles like a baby. She might be trying to learn how to cook, too — she never misses a kitchen adventure! ⸻ Ready for a smart, spirited pup with lots of love to give? Isabela is ready to bloom in a home that will keep her active, challenged, and adored. Apply to adopt her today: https://forms.gle/7dTuG94nZKd839c2A #lcdrIsabela #lcdrEncantoLitter #AdoptDontShop

Story
Hazel is a great 2 year old German Shepherd who we have to rehome because we are moving. She is great with our kids, especially our 7 year old son. She loves to play fetch, swim, and be active. She is attentive, polite, inquisitive, listens, and heeds commands. She is housetrained and will also use dog door. She has slept in her crate since we’ve had her at 8 weeks old. We also crate her when we are away from home. I work from home and she is typically at my feet relaxing or she will just go outside and sunbathe. She has never destroyed anything in our home. She does go through tennis type balls for fetch so we buy her the chuck-it balls. She has done a few training sessions with an ecollar using only vibration and has mastered many commands such as leave it, stay, place, sit, down. She walks well and only occasionally needs to be told to wait when she first begins her walks. She is a loving and smart dog.

Story
(YouTube channel link has more videos!) Daisy is the sweetest girl in the whole world and it breaks my heart that I cant be a better parent to her at the moment. She is only 1 year and she is so well behaved! She isnt a barker, loves to meet new people and she loves to cuddle! She deserves someone that can give her more attention and Im not as home as often as I hoped when I first adopted her. I would love to have the opportunity to still visit her and maybe even baby sit if thats something we could work out! Im also willing to still pay for her insurance for the rest of the year if thats something helps out at all! I also have all of her vaccination records, if you have any questions don’t be afraid to reach out (: For any questions my email is nicser15@gmail.com
