Athena - ID# 20807 - Kennel #835 - Arrived July 14th - Belgian Shepherd/German Shepherd Mix - Tri Color - Female - 1 Year Old - 49 lbs (estimated adult weight 55-65 lbs) - Will Be Spayed Prior to Adoption - Up to Date on Vaccines - Heartworm Negative Athena is a beautiful tri color Belgian Shepherd/German Shepherd mix with tall, alert ears, a striking black mask, and warm brown eyes full of expression. She arrived at Cobb Animal Services on July 14th, and at 1 year old, this stunning girl still has some filling out to do before reaching her estimated adult weight of 55 to 65 pounds. Athena is sweet, playful, and an absolute joy to spend time with. She walks great on a leash, sits nicely, and takes treats gently, showing off a wonderful foundation of training paired with an eager, engaged personality. Her playful spirit combined with her good manners make her a dog who is easy to fall in love with right away. At 1 year old, Athena is still young enough to grow and bond closely with her new family while carrying herself with a maturity beyond her years. She has so much life, love, and playfulness still ahead of her. Athena is waiting in Kennel #835 with that striking tri color coat and those bright, expressive eyes, ready for the home and the family who will give her the loving future she deserves. Story
Hazel is a sweet pup who loves attention. She is very playful and loves toys.Current home includes a 7lb Maltipoo, who she plays gently with, and an in/outdoor cat she has been unable to get close enough to.Her curiosity and instinct to chase/catch prey are fully intact, as she has unfortunately gotten ahold of and eaten several of our backyard chickens. We have a doggy door and as long as it remains open, she will go outside to potty rather than go in the house. She has been great with children and currently lives with our five kids ages 9-15, but remember it is important to respect an animal and it's space, and learns their cues. Hazel prefers to be left alone when she is enjoying treats such as peanut butter in a Kong toy, a bone, or other chew treat.Hazel sheds as typcial for a GSD/Husky, and it is manageable with regular grooming and vacuuming. She is crate trained and easily redirected with a tone/vibration collar, showing signs of an ability to easily train further.
