Story
Uma – ID 16642 – Kennel 54 Belgian Shepherd / Malinois mix – black and white – female – 2 years old – 55 lb Spayed – up to date on vaccines – heartworm negative – arrived Jan 30 Dog friendly – good with children Uma is a very sweet, gentle girl with a soft heart and kind eyes. She can be shy at first, but she knows it — and once she feels safe, her loving nature starts to shine. Uma has had pups before, and she’s ready to close that chapter for good. She’ll be spayed prior to adoption and is looking forward to a future where she can simply be someone’s cherished companion. Uma came to the shelter after an “escape artist” situation. She arrived with her brother, Bear. Bear was the clever one who figured out how to dig out, and Uma followed his lead. In the past, the owner usually reclaimed them… but this time no one came. Now Uma is hoping this is the moment everything changes — not another cycle of coming back, but a real new beginning and a true forever home. She does well with other dogs and is good with children. Uma would thrive with a patient adopter and a secure setup, plus time to settle in and build confidence. With consistency, reassurance, and love, Uma is the kind of dog who will bond deeply and be grateful every single day to finally belong. Story
Bear – ID 16643 – Kennel 55 Belgian shepherd / Malinois mix – tri-color – male – 2 years old – 60 lb Neutered – up to date on vaccines – heartworm negative – arrived Jan 30 Dog friendly – good with children Bear is a sweet, smart boy with a gentle spirit and a curious mind. He can be shy at first, but he knows it — and once he’s comfortable, Bear shows how affectionate and loyal he can be. He’s the kind of dog who watches closely, learns quickly, and wants to feel secure with the people around him. Bear arrived at the shelter with his sister, Uma. Bear is also the “brains” behind the escape operation — the one who would dig out, and Uma would follow. Historically, their owner usually reclaimed them… but not this time. And as sad as that is, it also means Bear finally has the chance to break that cycle and find what every dog deserves: stability, safety, and a true forever home that won’t let him slip away again. Bear is dog friendly and good with children. He’ll do best with a secure yard and an adopter who appreciates an intelligent dog and is happy to provide structure, guidance, and positive outlets. With kindness, consistency, and a home that understands him, Bear is ready to trade the uncertainty of his past for a life where he’s truly wanted — for good. Story
Nathaniel is an adorable, affectionate Shepherd mix who is 4 years old and weighs 57 lbs. He recently lost his foster home due to no fault of his own and is in immediate need of a foster or adopter to get him out of boarding. Nathaniel has been through training, knows basic commands, and walks well on a leash. He is a bit shy & timid from his extended time in boarding, but prior to losing his foster home he was a happy, playful, loyal dog who loved being with his people and doing zoomies through his house & yard. He has medium energy and is gentle when taking treats from your hand. He&#39s looking for a person who will help him build confidence so a home without other dogs or with submissive female dog(s) would be ideal. Nathaniel is housebroken, crate trained, neutered, fully vaccinated & microchipped. If you&#39re interested in fostering or adopting Nathaniel, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org, or submit an application at https://www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. BarkVille is located in Roswell, GA and our dogs are available for foster/adoption in the Greater Atlanta area. Applicants in surrounding states could potentially adopt a BarkVille dog if their application is approved, they live within 2 hours of the Roswell area, and they are able to pick up their dog from the foster home.March 4, 2025, 3:54 pm

Story
Meet Tommy, a handsome 2-year-old, tri-colored German Shepherd mix who was rescued at the very last minute from a crowded county shelter. Initially described as shy and timid, Tommy simply needs some self-confidence. Tommy is very smart and eager to please.. While he can be a little unsure at first, he is quickly learning that life can be full of love, kindness, and fun. Each day, he grows braver--wagging his tail more freely, discovering toys, and learning to be confident. He is dog-friendly and would thrive best in a home with another confident dog who can guide him and show him the ropes. Tommy is housebroken, walks nicely on a leash, and sleeps soundly through the night. Although the crate is not his favorite place, he settles quietly after a few minutes and is content once he feels safe. According to his trainers, Tommy is calm and confident on leash, non-reactive to people during walks, and loves interacting with other dogs. He is playful, learns from other dogs, and is steadily building confidence while mastering his manners. Although he tends to be a little timid and is not treat-motivated, he is making great progress. He would be happiest with a family that has a strong leader who will continue his training and build his confidence with patience and affection. A fenced yard would be wonderful for him to play and explore, but what he truly wants is a doggy sibling that can teach him to be the best dog he can be. Tommy is neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped. He is ready to find his forever family. With love and care, this shy boy will blossom into a devoted companion. For more information about this wonderful boy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org. If you would like to foster Tommy go to www.barkvilledogrescue.org/applications. Story
HI, I&#39M SERRANO! I LOVE PEOPLE AND OTHER DOGS. Meet Serrano, an 11-month-old, 25 lb. German Shepherd/Black Lab mix with a heart full of love and a playful sparkle in his eyes! This adorable, petit boy was rescued at the very last moment from the Rockdale County Shelter, and he&#39s been spreading joy ever since. Serrano is the perfect mix of sweet and cuddly -- he loves being close to his people and soaking up affection, but he&#39s also full of fun, puppy energy. He enjoys running and playing in the backyard, especially with his doggy friends, and would thrive in a home where he can have a playful canine companion or an active family to keep him company. Serrano is dog-friendly, people-loving, and would likely be great with kids. Serrano would love a family who enjoys taking him on daily walks and outdoor adventures, where he can explore the world and enjoy time by their side. This smart boy is a quick learner -- he&#39s already crate and potty trained. Serrano is very bright and eager to please, picking up new tricks every day! He&#39s also good on the leash, so it&#39s a pleasure to go for a walk with him. This sweet boy is fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped, and ready to find his forever family. With his loving heart, playful spirit, and loyal nature, Serrano will make a wonderful companion for anyone looking for a dog to grow, learn, and share adventures with -- and of course, to snuggle with at the end of the day. For more information about this wonderful boy, please email us at info@barkvilledogrescue.org.
