From her foster: Remember Dakota? She is a 9ish month old, 70 lbs, shepherdish girl who is back and looking for a home.  She was in a great home who did a lot of work with her but it wasn’t working out. What we’ve learned about her along the way: She does great with medium/large/XL dogs, but is too big/rough for small dogs. In fact she would do best with a large playmate who is confident with people and noises. She is nervous with new people, but as long as you let her approach she’s a huge lover! Typical to the shepherd persona - she attaches at the hip to her person. In fact she likes to try to lay across my lap when I sit on the couch. She’s nervous with new things & loud sounds, but just stands behind me (or climbs behind me on the couch). She needs a heavy duty kennel of some kind. Preference given to experienced working dog parents or one who is willing to line up a trainer to help you guide her into adulthood. Dakota WANTS TO BE IN THE WATER. Her water bowl, the hose, the pool, doesn’t have to be out in the rain, but otherwise - be prepared for a wet floor, wet dog, etc…. She has a long coat, so be prepared for a ton of brushing and/or grooming bills. She has a somewhat sensitive tummy so food transitions will need to be slow! Our boy doesn’t have the pipes of this legend, but he certainly has the presence. 👨‍🎤 Vince is full of charisma and personality just like his namesake. He is a 4-month-old German Shepherd mix weighing 25 pounds and will rock on to around 55 pounds once fully grown. He’s an active dude and loves to jam out with his doggie friends, little people, cats, and even horses. Now that’s a well-versed little man. Wanna go swimming or take a weekend trip to the lake? He is your boy! Vince loves the water and even enjoys playing with his towel once he gets out and dries off. 💦😎 This smart boy is so excited to learn all kinds of new things, and has already locked down crate training. Vince needs some practice with his house-training skills and basic commands. He loves to please his audience, so we are sure he will have them memorized in no time. Walking on a leash is new, but wandering around scrolling through the neighborhood sounds like a rockin’ good time to him. 🚶🏻 🚶‍♀️ Vince is a young pup and will thrive with plenty of activity to wear this little rock star out, so an active home will be best for him. Each time she loves on you, it feels like a big, warm hug. 🥰 Ziti is a 5-year-old Shepherd mix. If she’s not running and playing, she is off on her own adventures exploring the backyard. 🌳 Got any balls or stuffies lying around? ⚽️ She would be happy to take those off your hands. Doggie friends are more than welcome to play right along with her. Ziti not only loves her canine friends, but she absolutely LOVES her feline and miniature human friends too! 🤸‍♂️ What about a walking buddy? She’s your girl! She does wonderfully on leash and enjoys strolling around the neighborhood 🏘️ 🌲. Miss Ziti is learning she needs to use her manners when other dogs walk by. She gets so excited to meet new friends that she forgets not to yell at the passing doggos 👋. She is working hard on her house-training skills and is 90% there. Ziti sleeps quietly in her crate at night and has already mastered sitting, staying, lying down, shaking, and “bed” (kennel). If you’d like, she would be happy to run your errands with you. 🚗 🛻She is a grade A co-pilot without being a backseat driver. Ziti is higher energy-ish 🌟. She doesn’t need constant exercise but does best when given daily walks or backyard play. Once those energy bursts are satisfied, she’s happy to find a comfy place and chill out. She would love a home that is active and has animals and/or kids for her to play with 🛝🪁. Ziti has a condition called Water Diabetes, which means her body isn’t absorbing water like it should and affects her kidneys. She will require a daily medication for the rest of her life. As long as she gets that, there’s no stopping her! It’s time this sweet girl gets the happily ever after she so deserves. Could it be you who shows her she will always be loved?
