Story
Trends come and go, especially in the age of “viral” social media. But some things never go out of style! One of those things is, without a doubt, Chex Mix! Chex mix has been the trusted go-to treat for ages. Why? Because there is something for everyone! It’s salty, sweet, and everything neat! There are so many Chex mix varieties to choose from, but our favorite is our very own Chex mix! Chex is a 1.5 year old German Shepherd mix weighing 65-70 pounds. Chex knows that the success of Chex Mix lies in the mixture of perfectly paired ingredients—and he believes that he’d be better paired with you! 😉 Chex is looking for his forever family, and the recipe for success in your home has pretty much been laid out for you! Let’s go over all of the boxes that our sweet boy CHEX off! -Is he potty trained? CHEX! ✅ He knows to ring the bells when nature calls! -Is he crate trained? CHEX! ✅ He rests quietly in his crate at night, but he also won’t decline a nice couch or floor. -Does he know basic commands? CHEX! ✅ He knows “sit,” “lay down,” “stay,” “wait,” “manners” (when being served food), “get your toy,” and “beg” (he will lay his head on your leg)! He is learning “say please,” “come and sit,” and "under" to go under your legs. He is very smart and learns new commands easily. -Does he like to play? CHEX! ✅ He LOVES squeaky toys and tug toys! -Can he live in a home with cats? CHEX! ✅ He likes cats and keeps his distance from the feisty ones. Here are some important considerations for building your mix with Chex: -Chex likes to choose his doggy friends wisely, so he may do best as an only dog. -Chex loves kids, but would be best with teens and older due to his energy level. -Chex is a strong boy and could use some practice with his leash manners. -Chex will need some time with his adopters to build trust, especially men. Overall, the perfect mix for Chex would be a woman-only home with no small children. He would love a fenced-in backyard to run and play. Chex is smart and loyal and will be a really great pup for the right person! Chex will come to you vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, and neutered. He is also current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention! His adoption fee is $175. If Chex is CHEXING all of your boxes, go to www.pawsitiveTailsKC.org to fill out an app! Meet and greets will be scheduled with approved adopters. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

🐈🐱🐈 Cat-friendly 🐈🐱🐈 Forget that whole “be still my heart” thing. We don’t want our heart to be still – we want it pumping with happiness and excitement, because we loooooove a friendly dog! 🐾 🐶 🐾 💓 Corazon 💓 is just the kind of heart-starter we’re talking about, and he has that special somethin-somethin at a young age that makes you know he’s gonna be a terrific companion. He is a 5-month-old German Shepherd mix, and we think he’ll be around 60 pounds full grown. He starts out kinda shy, so give him a little bit to warm up when you first meet him. He is social in a gentle way, and he likes to be playful and active. All of the toys are on his favorites list, from hard chew toys to soft squeakers, so you can’t go wrong when you’re toy shopping. He’ll make playtime fun and cute no matter who’s involved. Corazon likes all people once he gets acquainted, getting along equally well with kids and adults. He’s great with other dogs as well, and would love to live somewhere that he can have a regular canine playmate or two – either in his house, nearby, or in the family. He also does just fine with cats. He sits on command, and he walks well on a leash already. He is crate trained, and he’s getting better with house training every day. If your heart is already going pitter-patter, wait until you hear about how cuddly Corazon is with his favorite people. Gah, he’s the best! You will forever have a shadow, as he’ll follow you wherever you go and whatever you’re doing – very helpful when you need a supervisor to keep you on task. 🛠️🔩 🧰 Corazon will come home to you neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines, as well as current on flea/tick prevention and heartworm preventative. His adoption fee is $275. Meet & greets will be scheduled with approved adopters from PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Story
Valorie is still just a young girl, but she’s been through so much. There’s a reason we spell her name the way we do: She has displayed a lot of valor. We are bound and determined to turn Valorie’s life around so she can experience the love of people and know that she is safe and cared for, furever. Valorie came to us with not one but two broken legs. She is now healed from her second surgery, and the vets think she’ll be able to run, play and jump like a regular dog with no lasting physical effects. However, because the injuries happened at the hands of humans, she still bears some emotional scars. Here are some things that bring her joy: 🐕🐩🐕 Other dogs! She loves them so purely and trusts them completely 💦💧💦 Water. She plays in the creek at her foster’s house and has a blast, and she doesn’t mind the rain or storms at all. 🌤🌷🌳 Being outside. She wants to go, go, go, whether she’s in the yard or on a leash walk. 🚗 Car rides 🌭🍔🍦Food and treats – the way to Valorie’s heart is through yummy eats 🤸‍♀️ 🐾 😴 Her energy level will match your energy – from adventure time to lazy time She knows sit, down, come, kisses & kennel and is learning more basic commands. Walks are exciting, & she pulls a little at first, then settles into a nice pace with you. She is house-trained and bell-trained, & she sleeps in her crate at night. Valorie is very gentle with kids who are respectful to dogs and who know that she will need space at first. Then, she will love and protect them hard. So kids are fine but cats are a 'no' for this girl. She is bashful because of her past and may startle at sudden noises and movements, especially at first. She will need some time – likely days or even weeks – to acclimate to her new home, before many new people or visitors start showing up. Valorie will continually remind you what life is all about and keep you focused on all the joys there are to behold. Want to be her forever hero? Apply to adopt her today. She is spayed, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped, plus current on preventatives for heartworm and flea/tick. Her adoption fee is $175. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️🤎🖤

Bronco — Gentle Giant Looking for a Calm Home 🐾 Meet Bronco, a 6-year-old German Shepherd/Bullmastiff mix with a big heart and even bigger personality. This handsome boy loves snuggles, walks well on leash, and enjoys playtime with other dogs and even cats. He’s a loyal companion who thrives on one-on-one attention and is happiest in a calmer, low-stress environment. Story
Harley is a 6-year-old German Shepherd/Red Heeler mix who has the whole package: calm, loyal, smart, and deeply devoted to her people. She is house-trained, crate-trained, knows her commands, and settles beautifully in the home. She enjoys her daily walks, her toys, and above all, being close to her humans. A true Velcro dog, she loves nothing more than quietly sticking by your side. Harley can be a bit reserved with men and loves to protect her human. When she is feeling unsure or scared, she may bark or growl out of fear, but with slow, positive introductions, she warms up wonderfully. In her foster home, she absolutely adores her foster dad and teenage foster brother, showing just how loving and loyal she becomes once she feels safe. She gets along with other dogs and is in foster with dogs of various sizes and personalities. She may show herding instincts, so a home with older children and no cats would be best for her. Harley is available through our Foster-to-Adopt program, giving you the chance to get to know her and see just how special she is. If you’re looking for a loyal, affectionate companion who will stick by your side through everything, Harley just might be your perfect match. ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
Meet Marley — A Loyal 8-Year-Old German Shepherd Who Just Wants Stability Again Marley is an 8-year-old purebred German Shepherd who has known love her entire life. Her owner had her from puppyhood and surrendered her only because he was facing eviction after noise complaints in their apartment — he truly had no other choice. Marley is a sensitive, intelligent dog who thrives with structure, routine, and quiet. She will do best in a house (not an apartment) where she can decompress, settle, and feel secure. 💛 General Personality & Home Life Marley is affectionate, loyal, and very bonded to her people. She loves having a predictable rhythm to her day and aims to please. She is house trained, not protective of her things toward humans, and knows several commands. 🐶 Behavior With Other Dogs Marley does have specific needs around other dogs. We believe Marley would do best as the only dog living in the home. Leash Behavior • Leash reactive — she will bark, growl, or lunge if dogs get too close. Marley is not aggressive. She is fearful and demonstrates her big emotions through these behaviors. • Will need patient, structured leash work with positive reinforcement and space on walks Dog-to-Dog Interactions • Previously went to dog parks but began resource guarding toys • Has done well with dogs her size in controlled settings without resources, however we are recommending as an only dog due to guarding history, until we can better understand Marley’s needs. 🐱 Cats Marley previously lived with a cat successfully. We always recommend slow and thoughtful introductions to feline friends. 🐕‍🦺 Kennel Stress Being in a kennel and away from her humans is hard on Marley. Marley would thrive with an adopter who is home most of the time or who can provide a very secure kennel set up. 🌟 What Marley Needs in an Adopter Marley will thrive with: • A house with a yard (no apartments) • An experienced German Shepherd or working-breed home • A dog-free household (may do okay with monitored playtime after slow patient introductions with familiar friends, her size or larger. But we believe she would do best to not live with another dog) • Continued training for leash reactivity • A stable, predictable environment • Someone who appreciates the loyalty and sensitivity of shepherds 💛 Marley Is Ready for a Soft Landing After eight years of routine, love, and stability, Marley is overwhelmed in the shelter and desperate for a quiet home to feel safe again. If you understand shepherds and want a devoted, intelligent companion, Marley might be the dog who gives you her whole heart. ----------------------------------------- If you’re interested in adopting, please apply online at mscrescue.org/adopt. Story
We got Snow as a puppy, and she is a very sweet dog, active, and she's very talkative, especially when you are delaying her from eating her food! She loves getting all the pets and is adorable when she is asking to be petted. She likes to play with toys, loves walks, and she is fast and an excellent rodent catcher (and bunnies and birds). She is trained to know sit, lay down, go potty (she is fully housetrained). Snow needs to be an "only (dog) child", as being part of a pack causes her anxiety, especially with other females. She is up to date on all of her vet care, shots, meds, etc. She would do great with someone who could walk her regularly, or lives on land where she can chase squirrels to her heart's content!

Story
Gentle Soul is the very best way to describe my personality. Hi&#44 Im Simba&#44 a senior shepherd mix with the softest heart youll ever encounter Ive been through a bit lately. My owner died&#44 and I was brought to the shelter by family who couldnt give me the life they thought I deserved. When I arrived&#44 I had a pretty painful skin infection that caused a lot of my fur to fall out. But good news... Im healing beautifully and making huge strides every day! My glow-up is well underway.

Im the sweetest boy whos ready to enjoy the calmer side of life. I do the sweetest commands - sit and shake! At this stage&#44 Im not really into wild play sessions - Id much rather spend my time relaxing&#44 soaking up love&#44 and enjoying peaceful companionship. Id prefer to be the only dog so I can have all your attention&#44 but I could potentially live with a very mellow&#44 respectful dog who understands that Im not interested in roughhousing.

What am I interested in? Kind voices&#44 soft beds&#44 slow walks&#44 and someone who will love me for the sweet&#44 loving boy that I am. I have so much love to give&#44 and Im just waiting for the right person to see how special I am.

If youre looking for a loyal companion with a heart of gold and a story of resilience&#44 come meet me today - I cant wait to meet you.

Love from Simba

Story
🐱 🐈 🐱 Cat Friendly 🐱 🐈 🐱 There once was a girl with no name. She found herself pregnant with nowhere to go. Some stranger picked her up and took her to a dark, loud, scary place called Animal Control where she delivered her babies. Now, she not only had to protect herself but also her six precious babies. She worked so very hard to keep them warm, dry, and fed. Little did she know, her little family was scheduled to be euthanized. Thankfully, when her babies were a few days old, she was taken out of that scary place. Her little family was put in a van and drove for a very long time. A nice lady took her and her babies and put them in a warm & comfy place. The nice lady fed her and ensured she and her babies stayed warm and dry. She started to trust this lady & knew she was here to help them. I now have a name, it is Ozark, and this story is about me. I am a 2-year-old, Malinois/German Shepherd mix. I weigh about 65 lbs. I discovered the nice lady taking care of us is my foster mom. She tells me I am a very good girl & I believe her. I listen very well to her and do what she asks. I play with all my foster sibling dogs, big to small, and I smoothly adapt my play style for each of them. I love all our toys, and I share them with the other dogs. I know I am very smart. When we do the fun training sessions I catch on very fast. I also love to walk on my leash and am careful not to pull too hard. I know I am expected potty outside & know never to chew up anything that is not mine. I already know how to sit, kennel up, & off. I know I can learn lots - what do you want to teach me? I am a good girl in my crate, & I’m house trained. At night, I either sleep in my crate or with my foster family. I will be spayed, microchipped, current on vaccinations and flea/tick/heartworm prevention at time of adoption. My adoption fee is $175. To meet me, you just need to fill out an application at PawsitiveTailsKC.org. 🖤🤎❤️🧡💛💚💙💜 APPLY @ PawsitiveTailsKC.org
