Story
Hi there. As a long-time dog foster mom, I want to tell you about a VERY SPECIAL GIRL, Lily Maureen.   Three-year-old Lily came to our rescue, scared and desperate for someone to care for her. As she started to learn what it was like to be cared for and loved by humans, she discovered that once she gets to know and trusts you, you are her everything. Her idol. Her whole world. And she will love you fiercely like you've never been loved before. This girl is a once-in-a-lifetime companion who will fill any hole in your heart.   With proper introductions, she slowly warmed up to my husband and our three kids. In two weeks, she went from barking at and avoiding my husband, to affectionately shoving herself in his lap for snuggles and belly rubs. She loves all our kids, even the one child who doesn't particularly like animals. And Lily Maureen LOVES romping with and racing our other dogs around the backyard.   Lily is 100% housetrained, and although very playful and puppy-like, she isn't a chewer, and she is great when left alone. She is not crate trained but waits patiently and quietly when gated off for rest or bedtime. She walks well on a leash if not distracted by neighborhood dogs, and sniffing is her favorite pastime (right after snuggling). She is very treat-motivated and learns extremely quickly.    We have worked with a trainer and practiced at home, and Lily has made amazing progress. Her trainer is impressed and says, "I am so excited to see how this dog will blossom!" She needs a home with someone committed to her continued training and socialization, and at least  initially, needs a home with a female caregiver, as she takes longer to warm up to men.   If you are willing to put in some extra time upfront with this beautiful girl, she will repay you tenfold. Will you be her hero?       An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online.  http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms     Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions. Story
Meet Swanky Lola! This 60-pound, 1.5 year-old, German Shepherd mix is an enthusiastic and happy girl who would make a wonderful addition to your family.    Swanky Lola is crate and potty trained. She loves going on walks, riding in the car and is very treat motivated. She is also very affectionate and loves giving kisses and snuggles.    This girl is super smart! She just completed a program with one of our professional training partners where she worked on basic skills such as: place, stay, leash walking, drop it, and not jumping on people. Swanky Lola enjoys brain games and scent work too. It will be important for her adoptive family to continue reinforcing these skills.    Swanky Lola would do best as the only pet in a home, so she can be the center of attention! While she likes other dogs very much, she is still very energetic and a little too eager in her play style. Her personality can be a bit too big for other dogs she meets.    Lola adores people, including older children 12 years of age or older. Her playful exuberance is a bit much for young children. She still has lots of energy, so an active family who will continue with her training and take her for walks and play ball with her would be the best fit for her.     This loving goofball is looking to live her best life, one belly rub at a time! Story
Hops, a year old, 53 pound, shepherd/golden mix, is a lovable guy who adores everyone: children, men and women, and dogs big or small, even though he can be a little shy at first meetings. Did I mention he's a lover? According to Hops, bedtime snuggles and morning belly rubs are the perfect way to start and end the day.  Hops is fully potty and crate-trained! He's great in his crate, probably will not need it much longer.   His ideal home is one where there is a fenced in yard and someone is home or can check on him throughout the day.  Hops had a minor fracture on one of his legs (probably why his name is Hops), but he quickly bounced back and is a healthy, active guy. Hops loves road trips with all the new sights and sounds. He also LOVES his leash walks under the guise of searching for sticks to take home. And while he loves his walks, his favorite outdoor activity is to run free in a fenced yard - his foster mom says you'll need one.  Hops is so excited to find his "fur-ever" home. If you love a well-behaved boy who loves hanging out, cuddling, and giving you some love, Hops is your guy! Apply to adopt Hops at angelsrescue.org/adopt. * Hops can, at times, be little dog selective. So, having a furry brother or sister is not a requirement.   * Additional pictures can be viewed on:  https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjAWaVx     An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms    Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions.
