Story
Duchess is ~3 years old, and i rescued her from Fulton County Animal Shelter in October 2022. Duchess is very sweet and gentle, but she needs to be an only dog. She thrives on individual attention, and loves all people that she meets. Duchess is a great dog, and she is fully obedience trained. She knows commands such as: sit, down, stay (release phrase “you’re free”), place, heel, and she is house- and crate-trained. While she was initially fear-based dog-reactive, with training she is now neutral towards dogs unless they react first. I can go to busy dog-friendly places without reactions or issues. She is e-collar trained and responds both with and without her e-collar. I am rehoming her because she gets jealous and lashes out at my Golden. In one of the recent incidents, she accidentally bit me when I was separating them. It was my fault since I was trying to separate them in the dark without being able to see. She will come with her crate, e-collar, and favorite toys.

Story
Are you looking for an active and loyal companion in 2023? If so, meet Bobby! He is a very intelligent, handsome boy looking for a home where he can be adored, and engaged in lots of activity! Bobby absolutely loves running around the shelter's large backyard playing fetch, chasing toys, and zoom, zoom, zooming as fast as he can. He also enjoys playing with our staff members and the water hose in the warmer months! We believe Bobby would be most successful in a home that allows him to get lots of exercise and mental stimulation. He is extremely food motivated, and loves to go on walks. Bobby is continuing to work on his leash manners, and is eager to please while doing so. He would also do best as an only dog in an adult only home with experienced owners. Bobby weighs 50 lbs., is 3 years old (est. birth date 04/24/2020) and his adoption fee is $175. If you want more information about Bobby, please submit a survey at https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/FKDS/Dog. At this time, meeting our dogs is by appointment only. After submitting a survey, an adoption counselor will contact you to give you more information about the dog you are interested in adopting and to arrange for you to meet. Must be at least 21 years of age to adopt.

Story
Meet Summer, a beautiful, petite, female Belgian Malinois mix who is not quite 2 years old.  Summer is a sweet, sassy, intelligent girl who is an absolute blast to be around.  She is super loving and wins over the hearts of everyone she meets.  Summer loves retrieving bumpers and balls in the lake with her Labrador Retriever foster brother. This gorgeous girl has been working with an excellent trainer, who initially thought she’d be best suited in K-9 work.  However, after spending time with her, the trainer believes while she is capable of the work, he would rather see her in a loving home given her sweet and engaging personality.  In other words, she’s smart, athletic, and incredibly charming!  Summer will be an amazing dog for someone who enjoys the working breeds and endearing mischief.  A “leader of the pack” person who has experience with working breed dogs and is committed to keeping Summer exercised, engaged, and stimulated is the person who wins here.  Summer will be your best friend and loyal companion! Summer get’s along well with other dogs (male and female), but no cats.   ##1472848##

Story
“...if you love life, life will love you back."  Arthur Rubinstein   Meet Haya. Haya translates to life in Hebrew. So when you adopt Haya, you are giving her a safe and happy life and she provides you with lots of love.    Haya is a 12-year-old senior, 60-pound (needs to gain weight) female, German Shepherd Dog. And while Haya may not have as much time left as a younger dog, she is ready to live her life and love you to the fullest.    Ever thought of owning a German Shepherd? Haya is already house trained, crate trained, and leash trained with slight pulling. Her cue when she wants to go outside is to stand at the back door, and she understands when her foster mom says "crate." She never meets a stranger, is sweet and gentle with her foster mom's young children (ages 1 to 5), and loves other dogs! And while she barks at cats, she doesn't chase or growl.   Haya came to us with a case of heartworms, but she will begin her treatment as soon as she is at a healthier weight.    Complete an adoption application for this sweet girl so you can give her the life and love she deserves.         For inquiries, email inquiry@angelsrescue.org     An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online.   http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms   Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.   Note: Some apartments and neighborhoods have breed restrictions. Story
This stunningly handsome boy, Leroy LaCroix, was pulled from animal control the day before he was scheduled to be euthanized. He is thought to be about 6 years old and weighs about 85 pounds.   Leroy came into foster care with heart worms for which he has recently completed treatment. He has made great strides while in foster care with learning to trust and remembering what it's like to be a carefree, playful pup. He is still cautious of strangers, but seems to warm quickly. It takes some time to gain his trust, but once he has learned he can trust, he so loves to be petted and wants to be where the people are; he craves attention and affection and is learning to relax for belly rubs. He is not a huggable cuddle bug, but he does lean against his foster mom as his way of expressing his trust and affection. Leroy will need a home where the person or people are understanding and go slow with him, listen to what he is trying to communicate, and adjust accordingly until he is comfortable and knows he can trust them. Previous experience with and understanding of the German Shepherd breed would be very helpful. Any training should be based on positive reinforcement; he is very food and treat motivated, so he is easy to train.   Leroy is very smart and is fine tuning his manners. He walks well on leash, but does still pull a bit when really excited and wanting to investigate something. Cats and small animals are not for Leroy as he likes to chase.  A fenced yard with no less than a 6 foot privacy fence for bird and squirrel chasing, perimeter patrolling, or just playing with a ball would be ideal. It is unknown at this time as to whether he likes the company of other dogs or would prefer to be an only fur baby as his contact with other dogs has been limited during his heart worm treatment and post-treatment recovery.   He is playful and loves to play with the balls on ropes in the backyard. No small or young children (under 10-12); he likes to jump up on people when playing or excited, something he is working on correcting.  In foster care, he has learned to be a happy, unthreatened dog. With some patience and work at trust building in his new home, he will develop into a more secure and even happier fellow than he already is. He is a sweet, gentle giant, but also a big, goofy kid at heart.   If you can be Leroy's next angel, he would really love to have a loving, caring home to call his own.   An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online. http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms    Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions. We verify rental policies and adhere to any regulations. Please ensure you understand those restrictions before choosing a dog.           June 6, 2023, 3:58 pm

Story
HELLO NICE TO MEET YOU!! DO YOU WANNA BE MY BEST FRIEND?! My name is Lily, and I am 90% German Shepherd and 10% Spazmanian Devil. Or maybe I just have puppy energy because I am still just TWO years old. I LOVE YOU! Did you know that?! Actually, if you are a GIRL, I love you, and if you're not, I really WANT to love you - I'm just unsure of the boys. So I'm kinda confused, but once I realize that the boy people are nice, I LIKE EVERYONE! My foster mommy does recommend that my new home has children older than 6. Here is my flawless resume: I am so smart and a quick learner. I  am the best cuddler and want you to be my pillow. I love other dogs and even goats. I love being with my people, but don't whine or get destructive when left alone. I sleep in the kitchen all night quietly and wait patiently for my people to come down in the mornings. And I'm fully housetrained! I love going on walks, playing with my toys, and chewing on bones. I also have this adorable little quirk with my left ear, making it flop halfway down. You LOVE ME already; I KNEW IT! My Fommy says I need to work on something called manners. SHE'S TRYING TO CRUSH MY INNER SPIRIT! I'm just excited to be ALIVE! But she says I need to reign in my puppy energy, so we're doing some fun games, and I'm a great listener. She says I need someone to continue these games and give me a lot of exercise. I need a Girl mommy in the house to help me figure out the Boy people. It might take me a minute to warm up to the Boy people, but if they are patient and give me lots of treats, we will be besties. HURRY UP AND COME MEET ME!  Love, Lily-Bear   An Adoption Application for this dog can be found and submitted online.  http://www.angelsrescue.org/adopt/adoption-forms     Please be sure to like our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/angelsrescue.  Email inquiry@angelsrescue.org    Note:   Some apartments and neighborhoods  have breed restrictions.
