COURTESY POST but applications through CompassionForPaws.ca Benny Bear is a beautiful 1 1/2 year old marble male Bengal with charisma, charm and character! He loves getting into his harness and taking you for a walk. He scopes out the trees and loves to climb the best ones. He is brave and curious and likes to be active, but when he slows down, he enjoys a nap in his hammock with a view. He doesn't demand affection, but definitely shows his appreciation when you clean his litter or feed him. He is a great sleeper and usually spends the whole night in bed with his human and wakes you up 10 minutes before your alarm. He patiently takes a love mauling, purrs and drools when he's really happy, especially at bedtime. Benny showed up at my home and after a search for his owners, I found out that he was intentionally abandoned in a park. That broke my heart, so I kept him and poured the love on him. Early on, I could see the anxiety while he went for walks if I walked ahead of him. He would pounce on my foot to stop me from walking. He still does that occasionally, but I think it is now more because he wants to be in charge of the walk and doesn't want me to lead him home. He is also very anxious during car rides, but will calm down after awhile and I've been seeing improvement here too. His comfort, trust and confidence has grown in the time that he has been with me. Benny is a great eater and not too picky. He loves treats and could probably be trained with them. I feed him raw food twice a day and soft canned food twice a day and he is pretty good to eat most of it. I put dry food and treats in a treat wheel and he has fun with that. He eats out of a time polar feeder when I am at work. I am hoping to find a better home for him because I work crazy shift work and spend long hours away, multiple days in a row where he is stuck in a tiny home by himself. Benny deserves better. He has been showing his displeasure at my long hours away by peeing on the couch and his hammocks. When I've been home for a few days in a row and sticking to the routine of walking in the morning for his bathroom breaks, he has been happier and uses the outdoors or the litter box. I do believe his peeing is directly related to my long hours away and possibly anxiety over the local feral cats. I am exhausted between work and trying to keep him happy and I do not feel capable of sustaining this lifestyle. I am not ready for a cat commitment, but I would love to be in his life and would love to be his cat sitter. I think Benny Bear would be an amazing adventure cat. I think camping, hiking and possibly gentle water sports would be fun to try. As long as he builds his trust in you, I think he will be happy to go anywhere. Benny would do well in a house where he is the only cat. He might do ok with older children and dogs, but I think it would be best in a quiet house. I would like to see him go to someone who has Bengal experience and who will love him and keep him active outdoors and get him into a better routine. A catio, frequent walks and supervised backyard time on a leash would do him wonders.

He will need an experienced Bengal home with lots of space and no kids and someone who will be patient and spend time playing with him

Bend it like… Bengal?Meet Beckham, a very handsome and charming superstar who’s ready to be your very own MVP. Beckham arrived with a team of five, all-star, Bengal cats who were surrendered due to a change in their owner’s living arrangement. ABOUT BECKHAM- In foster - Beckham is a big, friendly love bug who accepts pets by hand and will lean in for more affection, rubbing his head on human hands and legs. - Volunteers describe Beckham as a “stunning” boy who loves chasing toy balls (of course!) and playing with the feather wand toy. - He does tend to door dash, but can easily be picked up and brought back. Beckham seems to enjoy being held, so maybe that’s his motivation? - Beckham is quieter than his team mates but, true to his breed, he will join in on a “chant” when he’s inspired to do so. - Beckham is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations. BECKHAM’S IDEAL HOME- Beckham must be the only cat in the home.- Bengals are a highly social breed and Beckham would be happiest in a household where there are multiple family members with whom he can interact and play.- His compatibility with dogs and children is unknown. - Beckham has had some litter box mishaps, possibly related to being around other cats at the shelter, and he has been displaying some anxiety we believe due to all the changes in his life. EHS will offer a short foster-to-adopt period before finalizing the adoption to assist Beckham with successfully transitioning into a forever home. During this time, our skilled volunteers will offer support to the potential adopters as they get to know Beckham and help ensure everyone settles in comfortably together.Are you ready to bring home this all-star? Vixie wants to say hello!Stunning Vixie was surrendered to EHS because the newest member of her household developed allergies to her. Vixie is a gentle gal looking to find her fur-ever family.ABOUT VIXIE- In foster- Vixie is a friendly girl. She loves to socialize and is described as a “great family cat.”- She is a gorgeous Bengal mix who is quite calm and gentle.- She will playfully chase after a laser pointer and is quite quick on her paws, too!- Vixie adores a good self-care routine and enjoys being brushed. She isn’t high maintenance though; aside from not being a big fan of the vacuum, Vixie is quite adaptable.- Vixie has been diagnosed with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM). She does not require medication, but annual cardiac imaging is recommended. - Vixie is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.VIXIE’S IDEAL HOME- We are not yet sure how she’d fare in a house with other animals, but she was excellent toward her previous family’s newborn. Curious but always soft in her approach.- As she is a Bengal mix, she does have extra energy to burn off and would do well in a home that allows her to roam around.Vivacious Vixie is ready to take up space in the home and hearts of a new family. Let us tell ya, all about Nala!Firecracker Nala is a beautiful Bengal ready for a new beginning.ABOUT NALA- At shelter- Nala is a skittish cat who has minimal experience with humans. As such, it takes time for her to feel secure enough to express her full, unfiltered self.- Nala has made tremendous progress from hiding out in her cubby. Now she prefers confidently walking about the shelter during “out time”, sometimes even playfully teasing the other cats.- She is full of zest and high energy with a penchant for morning “zoomies” and climbing to the very top of the tallest cat tree. When she does settle down for a snooze, the cat tree is her happy place.- She’s commandeered her own private suite at the shelter, which is a larger kennel with extra space to help her relax and be more comfortable.- Nala is a very vocal and chatty cat. She may be shy around people, but she’s not shy about expressing her opinion! - She will meow excitedly for attention but then run away and hide if approached too quickly. However, she is proving to be more tolerant of the company of others and is beginning to accept gentle pets from volunteers when she feels safe.- As she starts to warm up Nala will openly and enthusiastically play with cat toys. Wands and any toy that is interactive are a big hit. She loves a good scratching pad too. - One proven way to build trust with Nala efficiently is by offering plenty of Churu!- Nala is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help her become more comfortable around people.- Nala is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.NALA’S IDEAL HOME- Skittish cats like Nala fare best in quiet, calm environments, preferably without small children or dogs.- During Nala’s socialization progress she has shown more openness to interacting with her fellow cats, however, she may still prefer to be the sole cat of the household.- Nala will do best in a home with lots of space for her to sprint, explore, and climb so she can burn off her excess energy.- Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Nala settle into her new environment. Those are some big shoes to fill, but Sinclair the cat is looking to pave her own way.ABOUT SINCLAIR- In foster- Sinclair is a gorgeous cat who is still learning that people can be pretty great. She isn’t a fan of being pet at the moment, but has been showing progress in her foster home.- Beautiful Sinclair loves a good cubby or napping spot.- Sinclair prefers to play when she is alone, but enjoys a good laser pointer session.- She is described by her foster parents as reserved but curious. She loves to check out new things in the apartment and be the inspector!- Like many cats, Sinclair likes to watch cat TV! She will sit and stare happily at the creatures on the screen.- Sinclair is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.SINCLAIR’S IDEAL HOME- Sinclair would prefer to be pampered on her own and is looking to be the sole animal companion in her future home.- We do not know how Sinclair would do with other animals or young children.- Sinclair is on a urinary diet long-term to manage her cystitis.Has our gorgeous Sinclair played her way into your heart?
