Story
Simba is a big, buff, very high-energy adolescent Bengal mixed cat. He was surrendered by a previous owner who understood that Simba needed more attention at home than he could possibly provide. With people he trusts, Simba loves kisses and forehead scratches, and shows his appreciation by giving head bonks and licks to his foster mom. However, he also plays roughly on occasion and thinks that humans are playtoys. He will sometimes grab your leg and chomp down to prevent you leaving the house. He does not mind being picked up and loves to sleep curled up next to his foster mom. He likes meeting new people, especially if they will admire his cat wheel skills. Simba requires a lot of playtime per day, and sometimes nips or swats when he is not given enough attention. Because of this, Simba must be adopted into a home without young children and you must have previous Bengal experience. Simba would love to have a human to play with regularly, or a home with more than one person. Although he has lived with cats before and has gotten along selectively with some, he has also shown aggression towards others. Simba should be the only cat in his household so he can be the centre of the universe. Simba sometimes craves attention a little aggressively when he’s ignored. However he’s easily distracted and entertained by an electric ball, or the Roomba allowing his foster mom time to tend to daily chores. With more space available to run around and more people to entertain him, Simba has the potential to be a good family member. ***** Simba needs to be a single cat*****

Story
Let us tell ya, all about Nala!Firecracker Nala is a beautiful Bengal ready for a new beginning.ABOUT NALA- At shelter- Nala is a skittish cat who has minimal experience with humans. As such, it takes time for her to feel secure enough to express her full, unfiltered self.- Nala has made tremendous progress from hiding out in her cubby. Now she prefers confidently walking about the shelter during “out time”, sometimes even playfully teasing the other cats.- She is full of zest and high energy with a penchant for morning “zoomies” and climbing to the very top of the tallest cat tree. When she does settle down for a snooze, the cat tree is her happy place.- She’s commandeered her own private suite at the shelter, which is a larger kennel with extra space to help her relax and be more comfortable.- Nala is a very vocal and chatty cat. She may be shy around people, but she’s not shy about expressing her opinion! - She will meow excitedly for attention but then run away and hide if approached too quickly. However, she is proving to be more tolerant of the company of others and is beginning to accept gentle pets from volunteers when she feels safe.- As she starts to warm up Nala will openly and enthusiastically play with cat toys. Wands and any toy that is interactive are a big hit. She loves a good scratching pad too. - One proven way to build trust with Nala efficiently is by offering plenty of Churu!- Nala is currently enrolled in EHS’s socialization program, where dedicated volunteers are working to help her become more comfortable around people.- Nala is spayed, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and is up to date on core vaccinations.NALA’S IDEAL HOME- Skittish cats like Nala fare best in quiet, calm environments, preferably without small children or dogs.- During Nala’s socialization progress she has shown more openness to interacting with her fellow cats, however, she may still prefer to be the sole cat of the household.- Nala will do best in a home with lots of space for her to sprint, explore, and climb so she can burn off her excess energy.- Potential adopters should be prepared to commit the time, effort, and patience required to help Nala settle into her new environment. EHS will provide post-adoption support to assist Nala with a successful transition to her forever home.Nala’s next chapter is just beginning, and she will need

Let’s go, Pele, let’s go!The famous soccer player, Pele, is known as the king of the game. He won the FIFA World Cup three times. Pele the cat isn’t looking to win any trophies, but he is looking to win a spot in your heart!ABOUT PELE- In foster- Typical to his breed, Pele is a superstar of any sport! He loves to play with wand toys, laser pointers, and balls that he can chase around.- According to Pele’s foster, “he is one of the only cats who knows what playtime is!” He will pounce on small toys and hide them to find later. What a good hunter he is!- When he’s not showing off his impressive skills, Pele likes to take a well-deserved snooze in various comfy spots.- Pele loves to communicate his feelings—and boy, does he have a lot of feelings!- This sweet boy takes time to decompress in new surroundings, but we hope that over time, he will begin to show off more of his full personality to us!- Pele is neutered, microchipped, dewormed, flea-treated, SNAP-tested for FIV/FeLV, and up to date on core vaccinations.PELE’S IDEAL HOME- Pele arrived to EHS, alongside his Bengal brothers and sister. Though they came together, they each have decided to look for homes where they can rule on their own! Pele must be the only cat in the household.- We do not know how Pele would do with other animals or young children.- Pele needs to be on a urinary diet long-term to limit crystals in his bladder. Luckily, he is a great eater and loves the new food!Searching for a superstar of any sport he chooses to master? Well, look no further! Pele is ready to impress! If you have any questions about Pele or the adoption process, please contact cats@etobicokehumanesociety.com

Story
Meet Ziggy!Ziggy is a super friendly cat who loves people. He is patient with children, and even gets along well with dogs. He loves being part of the family. He is happiest curled up in someone's lap, soaking up pets.Ziggy's ideal home is one where he can safely enjoy time outdoors. He has a very strong desire to be outside and has repeatedly found ways to escape despite our best efforts to keep him indoors. He has clawed through window screens and will dash through open doors whenever he gets the chance.Unfortunately, we live in an area where outdoor cats are not permitted, and we've come to the difficult realization that we can't provide the lifestyle he clearly wants and needs. We also want to be transparent that Ziggy has a history of spraying, even though he is neutered. This has occurred both outdoors and occasionally inside the home. Because of this, he may be best suited to an experienced cat owner who understands territorial marking behaviours and is willing to work with him.
