Story
SADIE was adopted from us as a pup and, sadly, needs to find a “retirement” home as their living arrangements are changing and Sadie will not be able to accompany them. Sadie is now almost a 7 year old Bernese Mountain Dog (DOB 4/29/2019)  she is located in NJ so you must travel for the first meet and greet. Here is a writeup from her current family:   ”Sadie is a sensitive, soulful girl with the classic Berner sweetness. Once she feels safe and settled, she becomes the gentle, affectionate companion the breed is known for. She loves being near her people and has a calm, comforting presence in the home. She bonds deeply and will absolutely melt your heart when she trusts you. Sadie has been evaluated by a behaviorist and diagnosed with “World Fear,” a tendency for heightened fear/anxiety that can be seen in some Berners. She is currently on Buspirone and Gabapentin (twice daily), which have helped her tremendously.Because of her sensitive nature, she would do best in a quiet, adult-only home. Sudden activity (like children running or toys flying) can overwhelm her. When anxious, she withdraws or hides — she is not aggressive.Sadie enjoys her daily walks and does well with a steady routine. Give her a soft spot on the couch, and she’ll happily snuggle in close. With patience, routine, and reassurance, Sadie will settle in beautifully. Like many sensitive dogs, she may need a couple of weeks to decompress in a new environment. Once she feels safe, her affectionate Berner personality shines.'   We would love a home with Bernese or similar breed experience. There will be a rehoming/adoption fee of $150. Her parents have done a wonderful job with her vetting and excellent vet reference is a must. Home visit required. Please fill out an application at www.companimals.org if you are interested in adding Sadie to your family!  March 7, 2026, 5:36 pm

WE ARE A TX-BASED RESCUE. THIS DOG IS CURRENTLY LOCATED IN TX AND WILL BE TRANSPORTED UPON ADOPTION. Please fill out an adoption application at haydudeequine.org 🤎🐾 Meet Joy — 80 Pounds of Fluff, Love & Classic Bernese Goofiness 🐾🤎 6 Years Old • 80 lbs • Bernese Mountain Dog If you’ve ever dreamed of owning a real-life teddy bear who occasionally trips over her own feet… Joy is your girl. At 6 years old and 80 pounds, Joy is everything people adore about Bernese Mountain Dogs — sweet, gentle, loyal, and just the right amount of goofy. She has that classic “Berner heart” that leans into you for pets, follows you from room to room, and looks at you like you personally invented sunshine. Joy is calm and affectionate, but don’t let that fool you — she absolutely has her silly moments. The famous “Bernese bounce” makes regular appearances, usually when she’s excited to see you or when she remembers she has legs and should use them. She’s wonderful with other dogs and friendly with everyone she meets. Truly, she’s a social butterfly wrapped in 80 pounds of fluff. And let’s talk about her love language: brushing. Spa day? Best day. Brushing session? Yes please. Extra brushing session? Also yes. She will happily stand (or lean dramatically) while you brush her and tell her how beautiful she is. She agrees, by the way. Because of her size and joyful enthusiasm, we’d recommend a home without very little kids. She would never mean to, but during one of her happy-go-lucky moments she could accidentally knock over a tiny human. Older kids who understand “big fluffy dog incoming!” would be just fine. Joy’s Highlights: • 6 years old — past the puppy chaos, fully into the sweet spot • 80 lbs of fluffy devotion • Typical gentle, loving Bernese personality • Good with other dogs • Friendly with people • Professional-level brushing enthusiast • Goofy in the most endearing way If you’re looking for a big, beautiful best friend who will warm your feet, fill your home with love, and occasionally make you laugh with her adorable clumsiness, Joy is ready to bring exactly what her name promises — pure joy. 👉 Apply today at haydudeequine.org and let this fluffy sweetheart start her forever chapter with you. 🐾🤎
