Story
Meet Peony A Sweet Soul Waiting to Bloom Peony is a 5-year-old beauty with a soft heart and gentle spirit. She is still learning to trust people, but with kindness and patience she is slowly beginning to blossom. Like her name suggests, shes a flower waiting for the right environment to truly open up. She loves the company of other dogs and thrives when she has a social canine companion to play with and lean on. Because of this, Peony would do best in a home with another small, friendly dog who can help show her that people are safe and love is something to embrace. Peony has an energetic and playful side when shes with her dog friends, but she also has a tender, affectionate nature that shines through once she begins to feel secure. With time and patience, she will bond deeply and become a loyal companion. This lovely little girl just needs a gentle, understanding home to help her continue her journey. With love, Peony will blossom into the sweet, joyful dog shes meant to be. View Video HERE **Additional fees apply for out-of-state adoptions. To help streamline the adoption process and ensure we have the necessary information about potential adopters, please follow these steps:1. Understand the Difference: Submitting an inquiry or application on Adopt-A-Pet is not the same as applying for the dog or cat. Inquiries provide us with minimal information about the potential adopter, making it challenging for us to evaluate suitability.2. Submit an Application: We kindly ask that you submit an adoption application on our website to be considered for adoption. Please choose the appropriate application link below based on whether you are interested in adopting a dog or cat:~ Apply here (DOG): https://davincisdream.org/dog-adoption/~ Apply here (CAT): https://davincisdream.org/cat-adoption/3. Be Patient: Keep in mind that we are a volunteer-based organization, and we receive a high number of inquiries and applications. Due to these constraints, we may not be able to respond to every inquiry individually. However, submitting an application provides us with the necessary information to consider you as a potential adopter.**TRANSPORTS**We are based in Columbia, KY, and extend our services to other locations through our transport program. To ensure the safe and responsible transport of our animals, we currently only transport to these destinations: Greenwood, IN, Wilmington, OH, Washington, PA, and Lake City, FL.To be eligible for transport, dogs/cats must meet specific criteria:1. Approved Application: You will need to submit an adoption application for the animal and receive approval. Please also note that clicking the "I'm Interested" button on PetFinder is not an application. To start the adoption process, you need to fill out an application on our website.2. Deposit Paid: A deposit must be paid as part of the adoption process.3. Transport Contract Signed: The potential adopter must sign a transport contract, indicating their commitment to meet the dog on the designated date. The "Transport" label next to each animal's name signifies that this animal is available for transport, but please remember that this transport service is exclusively for dogs that meet the above criteria. This ensures the safety and well-being of the animals throughout the journey. For more information about our transport process, please visit our website here: https://davincisdream.org/transport/READ ABOUT OUR ADOPTION FEES: https://davincisdream.org/adoption-fees/**ADOPTION FEES**To view the adoption fees for our animals, please go to the "Dogs" or "Cats" tab and select "Available Dogs" or "Available Cats." We strive to provide you with all the information you need right here. Please understand that due to the high volume of inquiries, we may not be able to respond to questions covered in this FAQ section.1. Are your dogs potty trained?Unless the dog's bio specifically states that they are potty trained, you can assume they are not. Many of our rescue dogs come from challenging circumstances and may not have been exposed to housetraining. Housetraining is typically the responsibility of the adopter.2. Do you transport to other locations?Currently, we transport to Wilmington, Ohio, Greenwood, Indiana, Washington, PA, and Lake City, FL.3. Is this cat/dog still available? If the cat or dog is listed on Adopt-A-Pet and does not have an "adoption pending" tag on the website, we are still accepting applications. However, please be aware that we often receive multiple applications for each animal.4. How long does it take to hear back about my application? It can take up to 10 days to receive a response from us. If you do not hear back within this timeframe, please understand that we may have chosen not to move forward with your application. We are a volunteer-based organization and, while we read every application, we may not be able to respond to each one individually.Thank you for your interest in adopting one of our fur babies and for taking the time to review these FAQs. Your support and understanding of our processes are greatly appreciated as we work tirelessly to find loving homes for our rescue animals.

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Max and Sophie.  They are a bonded pair of Bichon Frise mixes that are 11 years old.  They are litter mates that have been together their entire lives.  Max and Sophie have just lost the only home they have known when their owner moved into a nursing home. This sweet duo are looking for a loving person who will adopt them together.   They keep each other company, so they are easier than having only one dog!Max weighs 9.6 pounds and is in good health.  Sophie weighs 9.2 pounds and is also in good health except she is partially blind due to cataracts. (She can see light and dark, just no detail).  Both are neutered and UTD on their vaccines.  They are scheduled for a dental cleaning on June 9 which will be covered by the rescue. These two are sweet and friendly as can be.  They cuddle together like two peas in a pod when they sleep at night.  They love to go on walks!  Sophie charges ahead on her lead, she doesn't seem bothered at all by her limited sight!  Once she learns where everything is in her home, she will maneuver around just fine.  They both LOVE being outside in their foster's fenced yard....so many things to smell and the sunshine feels great!  Max is the more outgoing of the pair.  Both are cuddle bugs that want to be with their person.  They are very friendly pups.FOSTER UPDATE:  After 2 weeks with us, Sophie has graduated with honors in house training!!  Max still occasionally wants to lift a leg in the house so he gets a B-.  Both of them have made huge gains in this important area.  We are very proud of them!! Can you provide a loving home for Max and Sophie?  Fill out an application and let's get the ball rolling!***Max and Sophie are eligible for our Senior to Senior adoption program.  If the adopter is over 60 and uses our vet, the rescue will cover their vet bills.  You provide the home, food, toys and LOVE.  Frankies Furry Friends will pay their vet bills.  This special program is a WIN-WIN for everyone.Adoption Fee to defray vet costs:  $100Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.June 3, 2026, 4:15 pm
