Story
Meet Romy, an almost 5 year-old Bichon Frise with a heart full of potential and a past that's slowly becoming a memory. Once a puppy mill mom, Romy is now learning what it means to be in a safe place full of patience and love. She's nervous around new people and situations as she navigates how to "dog." Everything in the dog world is new to her - treats, leashes, toys, the outdoors, but she is discovering the cozy comforts of the couch and the excitement of being in the sunshine. She enjoys her furry foster friends and follows her foster mom from room to room. Romy does need a fenced-in yard and another social dog in the home to help her build confidence. She's looking for a patient person or family who will guide her through this new chapter with kindness and understanding. If you have a gentle heart and are ready to give a puppy mill momma a fresh start, Romy is the girl for you. Romy is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $300.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

She will need a calm, patient household to help her blossom. An adopter with another confident dog would be helpful. Are you the white knight wanting to rescue this damsel in distress? Kieran is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $300. Meet Izzy, an almost 5-year-old Bichon Frise with a sweet soul and heart full of promise and a past that's beginning to fade. Izzy was once a puppy mill mom and is now on a journey to discover life as a "dog." She is learning what it means to be safe, given patience, and shown love. She's nervous in new situations and with new people as she never knew things in the dog world such as treats, leashes, toys, and the outdoors. She enjoys being fostered with other furry friends and follows her foster mom, keeping an eye on what she does. Izzy does require a fenced-in yard and another social dog in the home to help her build confidence. She loves to play with other dogs, and actually does not mind the dog play to get loud. She's looking for a patient, understanding person who can offer her the time and care she needs to flourish. Story
Introducing Nala! Nala is a Bichapoo who is 4-years old and weighs a mere 12 lbs. She doesn't trust very quickly but is moving in the right direction as she does like to be in the same room as her foster family. She is still figuring out how to be a dog and her confidence is slowly expanding. Nala isn't sure what grass is nor how to take a walk yet but with time should prove to be a great companion. Nala uses pee pads because she is nervous going outside, but we are optimistic that with time and patience, she will figure it out! Her curiosity regarding a home environment indicates with time and patience she will prove to be a fantastic addition to your family and add another level of love in your life. She currently has a very short cut but is a curly Q when her coat grows out. Nala is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Meet Cupcake! She is a sweet 2-year-old, 10.5-pound Bichon / Poodle mix (Bichapoo) who's ready to find her forever family! Some of her favorite things include snuggling up with her foster mom and kids (8yr and 4.5yr), exploring her surroundings, and playing with her toys. Currently she loves her stuffed teddy bear the most and carries him everywhere she goes. She rarely barks—sometimes in the morning to let you know she is awake and ready to leave her crate—and is an all-around quiet and calm pup. She doesn’t chew on shoes, furniture, or baby toys. Cupcake is still fine-tuning her leash skills but with more experience her comfort level grows. Cupcake is crate trained and sometimes prefers to spend time in her crate or indoor fenced off area when she wants to relax. In terms of house training, she occasionally uses pee pads because the snow and cold weather have made her potty training go a little slower. But she is getting more comfortable with going outside each day. Cupcake shares the house with another dog (13yr) and two cats. She and the dog both keep to themselves with no issues. She completely ignores the cats. Overall, Cupcake is a great house guest and snuggle bug! She loves attention and praise and will make a great companion with a little work and a lot of love. Cupcake is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Jetson! This sweet Shih Tzu mix, born around July 16, 2023, has had a rough start in life but is ready to find a loving home. He and his friend Louie were living in a training lot for about eight weeks, essentially on their own and trying to survive in a tough situation, until things took a tragic turn. During their time in the VIA lot, Jetson’s friend Louie was sadly hit by a car, and another dog from their group went missing around the same time. Cold, scared, and desperate for help, Jetson and Louie were eventually rescued thanks to an experience trapper who brought them to our safety. Jetson is a shy but a sweet boy who desperately wants to be loved, though he needs time and patience to warm up. He does well with other dogs and will let you pick him up and hold him, but he’s still learning to trust. Jetson’s ideal home is one where someone understands the importance of giving him space to adjust at his own pace. He’s a gentle boy who just needs the right person to help him come out of his shell. Jetson’s adoption fee is $300, which includes his neuter, up-to-date vaccines, heartworm test, and prevention (ProHeart and Bravecto). He is available for transport to several states for an additional $225. If you're ready to offer Jetson a patient, loving home, apply today at www.adoggie4you.org. Jetson is ready to find the family who will help him blossom into the wonderful companion he’s meant to be!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.January 19, 2025, 9:03 pm
