Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Charlie, a 17-pound Bichon Frise with a heart full of love and an incredible story of resilience. Born around July 8, 2021, Charlie was tragically thrown over the fence onto our property late one freezing night, matted and terrified. Thankfully, a staff member of ours spotted him and ensured his safety.  Despite his rough start, Charlie has blossomed into an affectionate and gentle companion. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs until feeding time.  He has to be fed separately.  This is  very common for dogs that were left to fend for themselves.  They want to make sure they don't go hungry.  Charlie isn't a fan of cats, unless they come with crackers and a little bit of picante sauce.  So his idea home will not have a cat.  Charlie loves people.  Charlie’s sweet nature and resilience are sure to win your heart. Charlie’s adoption fee is $400, which includes his neuter, heartworm-negative test, up-to-date vaccines, and prevention (ProHeart and Bravecto). He’s currently located in Texas but is eligible for transport to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington (Kentucky), or anywhere along the East Coast. Please note there is an additional transport fee of $225, and we are unable to transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations. Charlie is ready to be cherished as part of a loving family. If you’re ready to open your heart and home to this sweet and snuggly boy, apply today at www.adoggie4you.org. Charlie can’t wait to meet his forever family!Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.February 17, 2025, 11:23 am

Story
Meet Romy, an almost 5 year-old Bichon Frise with a heart full of potential and a past that's slowly becoming a memory. Once a puppy mill mom, Romy is now learning what it means to be in a safe place full of patience and love. She's nervous around new people and situations as she navigates how to "dog." Everything in the dog world is new to her - treats, leashes, toys, the outdoors, but she is discovering the cozy comforts of the couch and the excitement of being in the sunshine. She enjoys her furry foster friends and follows her foster mom from room to room. Romy does need a fenced-in yard and another social dog in the home to help her build confidence. She's looking for a patient person or family who will guide her through this new chapter with kindness and understanding. If you have a gentle heart and are ready to give a puppy mill momma a fresh start, Romy is the girl for you. Romy is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $300.00. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Kieran! Kieran is a 5-year-old, 22-pound Bichon Frise. Kieran is a rescue from a puppy mill, and as such, is fairly skittish around people. She is fostered with other dogs her size and does well with them! Kieran is still trying to figure out what a dog is supposed to do, as leash walking, treats, and playing are all new to her. She will need a calm, patient household to help her blossom. An adopter with another confident dog would be helpful. Are you the white knight wanting to rescue this damsel in distress? Kieran is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $300. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Meet Louie, a sweet Pekingese mix who is ready to find his forever home. Born around January 9, 2025, and weighing about 14 lbs, Louie’s life hasn’t been easy so far. He and his friend were living in a bus lot for eight weeks during our winter freeze, struggling to survive in a tough and cold environment. Tragically, Louie was hit by a car during this time, and another dog from their group went missing. Thankfully, a skilled trapper was able to rescue Louie and his friend Jetson, bringing them to safety where they’ve been healing. Though Louie is still a little shy at first, he’s warming up to people and starting to come out of his shell. He’s been in foster home recovering from his orthopedic surgery from his broken leg, and has been great with dogs of all sizes and doesn’t mind cats, so if you have other pets, he’ll fit right in. Louie loves to play with other dogs. He’s quiet, well-mannered, and calm in the house, and he’s already kennel trained and potty trained. Louie is neutered, heartworm tested, up to date on vaccines, and current on preventatives like ProHeart and Bravecto. He’s microchipped, and after his accident, he now has fully recovered, which has helped him get back to his playful self. Louie is looking for a patient, loving family who will allow him to continue healing and growing into the wonderful companion he’s meant to be. His adoption fee is $400, and is currently located in Texas but is eligible for transport to Washington, Portland (Oregon), Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Chicago, Des Moines, Omaha, Cincinnati, Lexington (Kentucky), or anywhere along the East Coast. Please note there is an additional transport fee of $225, and we cannot transport to Rhode Island or Massachusetts due to state regulations. If you think you could be the right family for Louie, please apply today at www.adoggie4you.org. Louie is ready to blossom into a loving, playful, and loyal friend for the right person or family. You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Hi there! Name's Bradley. Bianca and I used to run the streets, sniffing out the best pizza crusts. One day, we mistook a dog trapper for a pizza delivery guy - silly us! Ended up here in this cozy joint. I'm a friendly chap, gentle as a summer breeze, and I've got a sense of humor that'll have you in stitches. I'm a bit of a goofball, always up for a game of fetch or a good belly rub. I'm loyal, too. I'll stick by your side like peanut butter on a spoon. So, how about it? Fancy adding a little laughter and a lot of love to your life?
