Story
PLEASE HELP ME TO NOT HAVE TO SURRENDER BAXTER. He is not a puppy and will be hard to adopt out from a shelter. Baxter is good boy, he needs a lot of attention, proper grooming and vaccinations. He is a great protector of children and will guard them with his life. He may seem aggressive at first but as soon as he is introduced ( especially with treats ) he is the sweetest most cuddly affectionate dog you'll ever meet. He is also less prone to acting out around strangers when he has had plenty of exercise and attention. I should have surrendered him a long time ago as he deserves so.muvh more than my family can give at this time. My son is extremely attached to him so if we could still get updates on him that would mean so much to my little boy. Please consider adding Baxter to your family. To add, he has made friends with other dogs and is capable of doing so. He doesn't do well with unfamiliar dogs but he learns fast and can be trained.

Story
I'm Abbie, and I'm the SWEETEST lap dog you will find! I'm a senior, easy going and quiet gal, which means I can live in an apartment, condo or townhome! Not only am I a chill gal, but I get along great with dogs of all sizes, people and likely cats. I'm just not bothered, in fact, I am a confident lady (not shy or timid). I do have one request though. I must be able to sleep in the big bed with my humans, sorry, non-negotiable!!! The weather is getting chilly, and I'm looking for that warm lap-human to keep me cozy. Please apply today if you are the one for me. Hatton Animal Rescue spends significantly more on each dog than the adoption fee covers; please consider making a tax-deductible donation by visiting us at https://www.hattonanimalrescue.org/sponsor. Donations help us offset vetting, boarding costs, and additional medical treatments for dogs who need it. For more information on Hatton Animal Rescue, visit our website at: hattonanimalrescue.org.

She enjoys playing with other small dogs and would be a wonderful 2nd dog for a family.  Holly's guardian explains why she has made the decision to rehome her:  Her guardian has developed medical issues and can no longer care for her.  Holly's guardian offers a brief medical history:  "Nothing chronic to report.  Recent medical exam was in May 2025 and she was healthy."   Holly's guardian states the following regarding children:   Holly hasn't lived with children, so her guardian doesn't recommend her living with children, stating "Holly dislikes toddlers and children and is fearful of them." Holly's guardian states the following regarding dogs:   Holly lives with dogs, so her guardian recommends her living with dogs, stating:    "She will do great in a home with other small dogs.  She is very social.  She is working on her confidence in meeting (large) dogs outdoors." Holly's guardian states the following regarding cats:  Holly hasn't lived with cats, so her guardian is unsure how she would react to cats in a household, stating "She's been indifferent to outside stray cats.  She hasn't been formally introduced to a cat but I don't have any reason to say that she won't do okay". Holly's guardian describes her as: Playful Shy Small dog friendly Affectionate Fearful of toddlers, children, and big dogs Independent Crate-Trained Holly's guardian describes her ideal future home:  "Holly needs experienced owners that are sensitive to her needs and will be patient and understanding with her.  She will be great in a house with a small dog so she can borrow from their confidence.  A couple or family who would adore her." Story
Bowman is a playful guy that was found all matted and dirty, he had since been cleaned up and is now ready to find his forever home! Bowman is a fun-loving guy that will need someone that is able to keep him groomed so that he does not become matted again. He loves to go on walks and loves to play with the squeaky toys here at the shelter. He is still young and will need some work with training and manners (he does work for food!). Bowman did well the tester cat here at the shelter and seems to not mind the company of other dogs. He must meet all family members that reside in the home. He has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, heartworm/lyme tested (negative), and microchipped since his arrival at the shelter.Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter5051 Letterkenny Road WestChambersburg, PA 17201Kennel License#2090

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. All of the animals posted on our site have been temperament tested. While not all are in the immediate area, once we have processed and approved your application, we will move the dog to our adoptive area for you to meet, greet and hopefully adopt. Sometimes we will have more than one application on a dog. That does not mean it automatically goes to another family but you should be aware of the fact that until you are approved and set up for the meet/greet.. the dog could get adopted by another applicant.Arlo is a sweet little guy, good with cats, dogs,  older kids only due to his size.  Just perfect for a lap! He is working on potty and leash training and socialization with the outside world. His adopter will need to continue this training.  He loves rolling around in the grass and thinks it's amazing! It's been fun showing him the great big world out there. He is very treat motivated (loves veggies!) and knows sit. Arlo loves to run around and play with his 3 doggie foster sisters and toys. He has a sweet temperament and is puppy playful.  Arlo is crate trained, up to date on vaccinations, neutered, and microchipped.   We are requiring that he have another dog to play with and a fenced yard.  He is very people oriented and is always at my side, so a stay at home person would be a bonus.   If you are interested in Arlo, please fill out an application at: https://reachoutrescue.rescuegroups.org/forms/form?formid=4588    Or contact: rorrcanine@gmail.com   *** Click here to sponsor this dog! *** Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.December 11, 2025, 12:36 pm

Story
If you are interested in adopting or fostering this dog. Please visit our website - www.cockeradoptions.org   There, you will find the current status of the dog, the links to our adoption and foster applications, and detailed information about our adopting and fostering procedures.   ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! ADOPTED! MY ORIGINAL INTAKE INFORMATION: Hello, my name is Maggie. When I was first adopted, I was a puppy mill pup. I went to a quiet home with 2 adults. Overtime, more people moved into my home including 4 young children. I was not ready to live with children, and they scared me so my former owner asked CSAC to help find me a new home. The best home for me has people who have dog experience who can help with my training and acclimating to the outside world. The people in my new home should be able to teach me the skills I need to be a great pet: walking on a lead, house training, and socializing. I will need time to trust people who want what is best for me. Right now, I am in the caring hands of one of the great Vets that work with the CSAC. They are checking me out and making sure I am healthy. Hopefully, I will find my new family that will turn me into a happy, cherished family pet again. Hope to see you soon. For more information about this dog, email our Adoption Coordinator. Our adoption process starts with an application. If you are interested in adopting this pup, please click the Adopt menu at the top of the screen, read about our process, and click the application link. The medical and custodial care of the many Cockers in our care is tremendous. More and more dogs are abandoned with urgent and serious medical issues. We are committed to providing the best possible care for these forgotten friends. Unfortunately, the mounting high costs are beginning to limit the number of dogs we are able to take into our program. Even if you cannot adopt or foster one of our current adoptable dogs, please consider making a donation. The Cocker Spaniel Adoption Center is a 501(c)(3) non-profit charitable organization, and your donations are entirely tax deductible. Click the Donate menu at the top of the screen.
