Story
Meet Flufferkins! Flufferkins is a 13 lb, 6 year old Bichon Frise. She spent the first half of her life being bred at a puppy mill. She is learning that people are safe and is coming out of her shell. Flufferkins hasn’t learned the joy of toys or playing yet. With some patience a confident dog in the home, she will learn. In terms of house training, Flufferkins has learned to go outside when the door is opened and comes back in when it’s time. She will need routine and rewards to help her get it down. Flufferkins tends to hang around her crate, especially when she is nervous. She has slowly widened her area of exploration as she gets more comfortable. Flufferkins is waiting for someone who will give her an amazing second half of her life. She will love you endlessly in return. Flufferkins is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Story
Meet Plum Precious! Plum Precious is a quiet 6-year-old, 15 lb Bichon Frise. She comes from a puppy mill, so she's apprehensive about most things, but give her the chance and she'll frolic about the yard with much delight! She has done well in her foster home with loud children and her foster sister, Miss Scarlett. Plum loves food - especially cheese! She's still learning how to "dog" and doesn't quite get the purpose of a leash, squeaky toys or balls... But give her a crinkly snack toy and she's on it. Plum also loves to snuggle up with a blankie or towel and is good about using puppy pads. She likes observing things, so she doesn't need to be in the middle of the action, but if she's ignored for too long she'll bark for some affection. Plum truly is a precious, curious, little thing who will make your heart sing. Plum Precious is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Miss Scarlett is a 6-year-old Bichon Frise weighing in at about 12 lbs. Happy and sweet, this little lady is just starting to show her playful side. She has the cutest little tail wags, and her foster family is seeing them more and more! Her favorite thing to do is to walk around the house and look at *everything* and the same can be said for being outside in the yard. There's so much to learn about and see! After all, getting used to her foster home has been a big adjustment, but she's done beautifully with kids in the home and her fellow foster dog, Plum. She's still getting used to leash walking and going up and down stairs. Coming from a puppy mill, she's still learning how to "dog." Treats have been a pleasant surprise in her life, and she has so much more to look forward to in a forever home! With Miss Scarlett in your life, the best is yet to come! Miss Scarlet is currently being fostered in Cincinnati OH. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Beignet is a delicate little soul who is just beginning to discover that the world can be a safe and kind place. This 1-year-old, 12lb Bichapoo (Bichon & Poodle) is still learning how to be a dog. New sights, sounds, and people can feel overwhelming to her. She will need a patient and understanding adopter who is willing to move at her pace. Beignet is not the kind of dog who will immediately run up for cuddles - but with time, consistency, and gentle encouragement, she will slowly begin to trust. Watching her take those small, brave steps is incredibly rewarding for someone who understands shy dogs. She would do best in a quiet home with a confident, friendly dog who can help show her the ropes and build her confidence. A secure, fenced yard is important as she is not yet comfortable on a leash and will try to retreat if frightened. Beignet is looking for a calm, committed home that will give her the time she needs to blossom. In return, you'll get to witness a truly special transformation as she learns what it means to feel safe and sound. Beignet is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Eclair is a tender-hearted 1-year-old, 15 lb Bichapoo (Bichon & Poodle) who is still learning that the world isn't as scary as it seems. Everything around her feels new and overwhelming, and her first instinct when frightened is to find a safe place to hide. Eclair will need a patient and compassionate adopter who understands that trust takes time. She is not yet comfortable with walking on a leash. Sudden movements or unfamiliar situations can cause her to panic and run. A secure, fenced yard is essential to keep her safe while she continues to build confidence. Eclair would thrive in a quiet home with a confident, gentle dog who can help guide her and show her that life can be safe and predictable. When she's feeling curious, she has the most adorable head tilt that gives a glimpse of the sweet, gentle dog she is becoming. Eclair is looking for a calm, committed home willing to let her grow at her own pace. For the right person, helping her come out of her shell will be incredibly meaningful and rewarding. Eclair is fostered in the Cincinnati area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Khaleesi is a nearly 10 year-old Bichapoo who has been a beloved family .She is affectionate, loyal, and full of personality, with a spunky spirit and lots to say.she can definitely be vocal and alert you to everything happening around her. She would enjoys frequent outdoor time. She is used to being part of a home environment and loves companionship. She has recently developed a neck mass that may need veterinary evaluation, and she may have some developing medical needs. Making the decision to seek placement for her has been incredibly painful. Over the past several years, I have developed significant chronic health issues that have greatly affected my physical stamina and daily functioning. As her sole caregiver, I am no longer physically, emotionally, or financially able to provide the level of care and veterinary support she may need going forward. My greatest hope is to find her a safe, loving home where she can receive the time, attention, and medical care she deserves.
