Story
Meet Kieran! Kieran is a 5-year-old, 22-pound Bichon Frise. Kieran is a rescue from a puppy mill, and as such, is fairly skittish around people. She is fostered with other dogs her size and does well with them! Kieran is still trying to figure out what a dog is supposed to do, as leash walking, treats, and playing are all new to her. She will need a calm, patient household to help her blossom. An adopter with another confident dog would be helpful. Are you the white knight wanting to rescue this damsel in distress? Kieran is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $300. To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals. For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible. We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal.

Story
Meet Romy, a 5 year-old Bichon Frise with a heart full of potential and a past that's slowly becoming a memory. Once a puppy mill mom, Romy is now learning what it means to be in a safe place full of patience and love. She's nervous around new people and situations as she navigates how to "dog." Everything in the dog world is new to her - treats, leashes, toys, the outdoors, but she is discovering the cozy comforts of the couch and the excitement of being in the sunshine. She enjoys her furry foster friends and follows her foster mom from room to room. Romy does need a fenced-in yard and another social dog in the home to help her build confidence. She's looking for a patient person or family who will guide her through this new chapter with kindness and understanding. If you have a gentle heart and are ready to give a puppy mill momma a fresh start, Romy is the girl for you. Romy is currently being fostered in the Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $300.00. Story
Meet Lucy Lou! Lucy Lou is a 6-yr-old, 12lb. female Bichon Frise who is full of curiosity and hopefulness as she awaits her new forever home. She is overcoming her bad haircut and her past as a puppy mill mama and loves to be with people who will cuddle her and love on her. She likes to nestle her head in the crook of your neck and will stay there all day if you let her! She likes being in the grass and would do well in a fenced yard. We are still working on potty training but it’s coming along nicely. She pees and poos in the backyard when let out but still has the occasional accident in the house. She is very comfortable with her furry foster sisters but does not yet really play with them as she is still figuring out what it means to be a dog. She is good with men but has not been around cats yet. She is crate trained but enjoys the freedom of an open door to come and go as she pleases so she can follow her foster mom around the house. She is nervous around new things and needs a home where there is a lot of patience, love and a quieter environment. Some of her favorite things are curling up on her comfy pillow next to her foster mom on the couch, apple treats, eggs, and having her blanket nearby. If you're looking for a sweet, affectionate dog who will enrich your life, she might be your perfect match! Lucy Lou is currently being fostered in the northern Cincinnati, OH area. Her adoption fee is $450.00. Story
Yoshi is a true gem - a gentle, lovable senior who has lifelong unconditional love to give. Yoshi is a small Shih Tzu and is approximately 11 years old. He is slowing down a bit... some would say that he is as slow as a snail! Yoshi is blind so he needs to be carried because he cannot see where he is going...he must be transported around the house and to his food, outside and to bed. His world is a little dark, and he needs his human to guide him to where he needs to go. He has had surgery on his teeth, leaving only a few good teeth in his mouth, so soft food is a must for him. He will also need eye drops daily, morning and night for dry eye. His eyes also will need to be wiped daily. Although Yoshi will require some special care, he will definitely show you his appreciation with his constant companionship. Yoshi is the ultimate lapdog that is very loving, loyal, sweet and trustworthy. He loves other dogs and cats, and he is great with kids too! Even though he does love other dogs, he does not like them around his food while he is eating, so his human will need to be aware of his food protection. Yoshi will melt your heart with his slow movements, gentle nature, and love for cuddling and affection. He is incredibly sweet and loves nothing more than being around his people. Yoshi absolutely loves to cuddle in bed with you and will stay there all day waiting for you to come get him! Yoshi's heart belongs to his humans, and he must sleep in bed with you, so if you are not willing to share your bed, Yoshi may not be the dog for you. There is no playing with toys or going on walks for Yoshi, those days are behind him! Now he just longs for getting carried around and loved on. He doesn't need much outside of his daily eye drops, soft food, and some extra care. Yoshi is house trained and has been very reliable while in foster care, so you can count on him to do his potty business outside. He is a true easygoing old man who just wants love and attention. Yoshi is a special boy who will thrive in a loving home where he can be pampered and cared for in his golden years. He's gentle and loving and deserves just the same in return. He may be an ancient baby, but he has a heart full of love and a soul that just wants to be close to his family. If you are the perfect human to give Yoshi the care and love he needs, go to www.pawpatroldayton.com/ adopt to apply! His adoption fee is $160 and he is UTD on vaccines, neutered, and microchipped. All of our animals are vaccinated, micro-chipped and spayed/neutered before being adopted.
