Story
Meet Fancy! Fancy is an athletic, petite, fun size at a compact 32 pounds black mouth cur/Ridgeback and standing only 17” tall at the shoulders, and is 18 months old She has her playful puppy side, but is relatively calm for a girl her age. She loves to lay in front of the window and watch the cars go by. She can be a little shy with humans at first, but she warms up quickly. She is a little cautious around cats and gets along great with other dogs. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She spent half her young life in the shelter ?, so she enjoys learning what it’s like to run and play like a real puppy! All she needs now is a special human to call her own! Fancy is spayed and up to date on all her shots, microchip, and flea and tick prevention. She is house and crate trained. Working on leash manners and loves car rides. If you think this girl is the right fit for your family, please fill out an application online at www.bestfriendsforlifeanimalrescue.com

Story
**I am located in Georgia, but I can be transported north to you!** Name: Oscar Breed: Blackmouth Cur Mix Sex/Age/Weight: Male/estimate DOB 11/2022/ around 50 lbs and I am full grown Vetting: Up-to-date on vaccines, neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventatives House trained/Crate Trained: In progress Dogs/Cats/Children: Oscar has not been tested with cats or children yet, but can be tested upon request. Oscar has had very controlled interactions with other dogs and seems to enjoy other high energy breeds Energy Level: High- I am a very athletic dog who loves to run and play Before FAR/My History: I wandered up to somebody’s house on 3/11/2024. I had been spotted the week before getting into the neighbors’ trash at night because I was a hungry pup. I couldn’t stay there because of their older dog who is very sick, but they put me in this program and I get to stay and play with 3 other foster dogs. Training Status/Commands I know: Sit and touch the open hand to get a treat/food instead of leaping for the food Working on: Everything Things I like: Playtime, especially with another dog who is as energetic as I am. My running buddy is another FAR foster Sheila aka Havoc. I like to chase her when she has a toy, and I also like to be chased when I have a toy. Things I don’t like: I don’t like to be left out, especially if another dog runs by and I see them playing. Things that make my humans happy: My endless energy. I am always down to play, run, fetch, etc. And when it is time to rest, I like to snuggle and get chest scratches. Ideal Family/Home: Because of my energy and drive, I think I would like a home without cats or small dogs. I love playing with Sheila aka Havoc because she is my size and matches my energy, so I think a mid-size, young female dog would be a perfect playmate for me. Story
Suzy is about 4 years old. She is a very caring , almost Velcro-style dog; she always wants to be near her human companions, frequently sitting by our feet or even sometimes in our laps (though she's a bit big for that). She still gets the zoomies and loves runs around chasing squirrels. She also loves taking naps and we call her "Snoozy" as a resuot. She plays well with other dogs *when off leash* and does great at kennels; she is more suspicious and less friendly while on leash. She herself was a rescue and has had puppies. She's been trained with a dog trainer and is well-behaved in the home; we've never had an accident with her in the years we've had her (outside of single upset stomach when she ate too much too quickly when we changed dog food brands).

Story
adoption donation : $499 weight 50 lbs Age  3 years        Layne is a beautiful 3-year-old, 50 lb golden pup who came to us pretty timid and scared of the world but has since gained a lot of confidence. She wants to be loved and give love in return. Layne lives with other dogs, kids and a baby. She is a sweetheart and a quiet girl—she is the only dog in the house who does not bark at the mailman!    Layne loves to run in the yard and watch the birds fly by so a fenced yard is preferred. She adores loves playing fetch and treat time. She loves romping around the yard with her four-legged foster brothers and would love a canine companion! Layne does well with senior dogs as well.      Layne also has a foster brother, Puddles, who is her very best buddy so if an adopter  was potentially looking for two dogs they would be a perfect pair!       Layne is the quintessential family dog, she is gentle and loving and will make a wonderful member of the family.     For more information on adopting Layne please email   ramellakwolek@gmail.com    June 22, 2025, 7:29 am

Story
adoption donation : $699 weight 40 lbs Age 8 months dob. 1/10/25      Jade is an adorable mixed breed pup who seems to be some kind of black mouth cur mix. . She is a gentle and sweet and loving girl who is just a delight.  Jade and her sisters Josie and Journey  were part of a group of puppies that were sadly being given away for free at a local Walmart in Mississippi. The woman who runs the rescue Wags of Monroe County couldn’t bear to see these puppies going to people with no vetting and so she scooped up the remaining three girls.     Since then, the puppies have thrived, they love to run and play with all the dogs at the rescue and then cuddle up together in a puppy pile to nap. They have all been spayed and have their vaccinations and are all healthy happy girls.    Jaden and her sisters are still in Mississippi, but ready to come up to the northeast in mid October on the transport truck that leaves every Friday from Tupelo. We know these girls will all make wonderful family dogs, but are fine to consider a foster to adopt. Jade is such a gentle, calm girl, we know she will be a loving member of the family.   Adoption fee includes the transport from Mississippi, vaccines, microchip and spay and neuter. Most of our dogs are in Mississippi and come up by Transport, dogs are listed along the Transport route or in an area where we may have volunteers who can help transport the dogs. We do have some of our dogs in foster homes in the northeast, we always need foster homes! For more information on adopting any of our Wags dogs please email mariaeftimiades@yahoo.com      October 13, 2025, 8:23 am

Story
Mr. Banks was found in an elementary school field being chased by kids - now don't feel bad for him, he LOVED it. He is a HUGE fan of kids and was so happy to be running around with them - a home with kids would be great for him. Mr. Banks is a 2 year old Shepherd/Black Mouth Cur mix, around 50lbs. He is a very sweet boy who is house trained and crate trained. He gets along great with other dogs and loves being active with his family. He does need a secure yard or watched outside as he loves to jump and play and if he has no one with him.... well he may try to find someone to play with. He is very smart and walks lovely on leash too. Don't let this one slip away! *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*
