Story
Mr. Banks was found in an elementary school field being chased by kids - now don't feel bad for him, he LOVED it. He is a HUGE fan of kids and was so happy to be running around with them - a home with kids would be great for him. Mr. Banks is a 2 year old Shepherd/Black Mouth Cur mix, around 50lbs. He is a very sweet boy who is house trained and crate trained. He gets along great with other dogs and loves being active with his family. He does need a secure yard or watched outside as he loves to jump and play and if he has no one with him.... well he may try to find someone to play with. He is very smart and walks lovely on leash too. Don't let this one slip away! *All of The Right to Live dogs are fostered locally in San Antonio Texas and will be transported to other states to their new families upon adoption. We believe fostering dogs and not having them decompress in a kennelled environment is more beneficial for the dogs and builds their trust and companionship in a family situation. Adoption fee includes transportation costs, previous/current medical treatment (spay/neuter, etc.) and a health certificate for cross-state travel*

Story
APPLY FOR MARY Hello, I’m Mary♥ I was born on September 19th and I’m a Black Mouth Cur and Shepherd mix. I’m fully vetted, which means I am spayed, microchipped and I have my puppy vaccines.   I was found abandoned and was dropped off at a shelter, where I sat for almost 6 weeks with no interest, until I was pulled by rescue! Even though my beginnings weren’t the best, I am a total sweetheart.   Even though I’m just a puppy, I’m a bit of an old soul. I like to play, I’m intelligent, and I really love to cuddle. I like playing with other dogs and sleeping is my favorite pastime. I’m doing very well with crate training too, and I would do amazing with a family who will cuddle with me and teach me new things. My foster mom jokes that I’m not a terror like many other puppies.   I get along wonderfully with dogs, cats and kids. If they want to play and cuddle, we’ll be the best of friends!   ADOPTION FEE: $663  ADOPTION FEE INCLUDES:  Alteration, Microchip, Vaccines APPLICATION: Click here to apply IF YOU HAVE OWNED A PET IN THE LAST 10 YEARS, PLEASE CALL YOUR VET AHEAD OF TIME TO ALLOW RESCUES TO SPEAK TO THEM APPLY FOR MARY ##2620257##

Story
Meet Fancy! Fancy is an athletic, petite, fun size at a compact 32 pounds black mouth cur/Ridgeback and standing only 17” tall at the shoulders, and is 18 months old She has her playful puppy side, but is relatively calm for a girl her age. She loves to lay in front of the window and watch the cars go by. She can be a little shy with humans at first, but she warms up quickly. She is a little cautious around cats and gets along great with other dogs. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She spent half her young life in the shelter ?, so she enjoys learning what it’s like to run and play like a real puppy! All she needs now is a special human to call her own! Fancy is spayed and up to date on all her shots, microchip, and flea and tick prevention. She is house and crate trained. Working on leash manners and loves car rides. If you think this girl is the right fit for your family, please fill out an application online at www.bestfriendsforlifeanimalrescue.com

Story
Like his famous cartoon namesake, Scooby is ready to solve the mystery of finding his forever home! Scooby is a 2-year-old, large 58lb, tan-and-black, short-coated black mouth cur mixed-breed dog with a lovable presence and plenty of charm. With his handsome looks and sweet personality, Scooby is the kind of dog who turns heads and steals hearts wherever he goes.Scooby has an energetic boy. He will fit in well with an equally active family with a fair number of activities to keep him on his toes. He is good with other dogs and children, making him a great candidate for a family setting or a home with canine companions. Scooby is not open to sharing his home with a cat so he will need a home without a feline resident. His house and leash training are currently in progress. While he may already be making great strides, continued consistency and patience will help him succeed. Even dogs who are house-trained can have occasional accidents while adjusting to a new home environment, so adopters should be prepared for a short adjustment period. His ideal home will be one that can provide time, commitment, positive training, and regular exercise to help him continue building confidence and good manners. Scooby has made progress and has succeeded in learning his crate training. If you are looking for a loyal companion who is ready to join you on adventures, Scooby might just be your perfect match. Do not leave this love story unsolved. Scooby is waiting to meet you!* When considering adoption, keep in mind that dogs thrive on structure and routine. They adjust much better when their owners are committed to providing consistency and stability. The adoption fee for Scooby is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue and transportation fees. To get the ball rolling, head over to our Adoption Application and submit your application today. A Dog Star representative will contact you within 24 hours. To speed up the process, contact your vet and give them permission to speak with us.If you do not get a response within 24 hours, check your spam folder.January 28, 2026, 6:02 am
